What sort of "intervene" do you suggest? She's been into a lot of end-times prophecy stuff for the past few decades. I listen politely and tell her no, thank you, when she offers me books and videos and such. She's got a solid faith, but she's the most stubborn woman you'll ever meet. When she thinks something is so, you will never, ever talk her out of it lol.

I asked her why she thought a power outage was coming, and she really didn't give me a specific answer. She's been declaring that Trump will win for months, even up to today. I asked her, if Biden becomes President, will she concede that she's been wrong? She didn't answer me I love her, but she's impossible to reason with sometimes.

My mom has always been a bit of a grocery hoarder, but now I wonder if this explains her most recent list (I do her shopping, she can't drive anymore) which was two full carts, and I'd just done shopping for her maybe two weeks prior.

I try to be like the ant and stocking ip here and there. I got a hand crank radio that is a flashlight and phone charger also. Food/water/first aide.

But trusting God, I have perfect peace.

I'll still quietly pray that things will get better someday.

Depends on time of year and weather. One year when I was in Missouri we had a huge ice storm and power was out where we lived for a month.. i took my frozen food and put it outside to keep it frozen until a family member got their power back on and I could store my frozen foods there.

Exactly. In Texas, this is how we often have to prepare for coming hurricanes and floods. And when people stock up for these disasters, neighbors become closer sharing, allowing the believers opportunity to minister to others within walking distance when we're trapped by floods. It's happened often depending on which area people live in. It's happened a couple of times in my neighborhood since living there for over 15 years. Even if store shelves weren't empty, we couldn't even get to the store.

Seeing weather disasters and how restrictions under leadership around the world have lead to restrictive lives, I'd say that we should never underestimate possibility.

While I could be wrong, I don't think any domestic terrorist groups are organized enough within our borders to take on the entire US military. The US has got tanks, and stuff. The domestic terrorists don't. Granted, I hope it does not come to that. I am a Christian who is for peace and I believe in our Lord's teaching on Non-resistance. We as believers have got to be willing to throw down our lives for Jesus Christ in a non-violent way. We have to be willing to be persecuted and killed for our faith. It is the enemy who seeks to kill, and destroy, but God can protect us if that is His will. So trust in God.

Learn to live in the present moment, it's all that really exist.

The ego uses fear to keep us in the dark and dwelling on bridges that we'll never have to cross.

Remember, God is in the present, as time has no meaning for him. All that exist is the now, nothing else.

Also keep in mind that when we pray the Lord's Prayer, we always say, "thy will be done."

We still used tunnel rats to get VC hiding in them.

Today, they use robots and heat and movement sensing devices to take out the enemy.

BTW, hand held heat sensing devices can detect people hiding in position to carry out an ambush. This didn't exist in Vietnam. An ambush wasn't detected until they started killing.

Well all relationships are different so I wouldn’t know exactly what may be right in your situation, but these beliefs are damaging to a lot of people, causing mental health issues for the individual, breakdown in family relationships, and of course have hurt the country. I’ve talked to a few people online who have lost their relationships with loved ones as they went further and further down the rabbit hole. What is recommended is to address the more ridiculous Q theories directly with them, and also show them evidence that the predictions and theories are incorrect. What I’ve heard is it can be effective for people who are not yet that deep into it, but after a certain point it doesn’t work. I’m not any kind of cult deprogramming expert. I used to just laugh at this stuff but I’ve spent time looking into it and hearing the stories of people who have lost their relationships with loved ones over it, and I think it’s really destructive.

I was a conscientious objector in the Vietnam war era. I admit I know less about killing than most my age.
