When has Donald attended church? I know he held up a Bible in front of St. John's but I don't think he went in.

Or maybe he is making a ton of money funneling government money to his properties and collecting huge amounts from Republicans, lobbyists and foreign favor seekers who hold events at his hotels?

His so-called rebirth of faith was something that began late-only in recent years. Now he is Presbyterian, Melania is Catholic. Normally one converts to the wife's faith. But he probably insisted that his was better. I don't believe his family upbringing was such that they were weekly attenders of church. If he were attempting to have some kind inspirational Jesus moment, I can't say I see it in terms of how he has handled the cultural aspects of the country. Yes he is patriotic & believes in God but I'm speaking of the Golden Rule & the Beatitudes, I don't see that at all in his shoot from the hip rhetoric & his war on the environment. Maybe him & Biden could open their own funneling service.

No, Donald Trump is most definitely NOT patriotic. He is encouraging insurrection amongst his followers. He is a scoundrel who wraps himself up in the flag while flagrantly disregarding our laws and treaties.

Did the government make use of Trump's own property? If so, that's quite different from people like Obama and Biden who used government in order to become rich.
Yes, the government did make use of Donald's own properties - somehow the military just decided to put up its personnel in Donald's Turnberry resort in Scotland. Government personnel have held private functions and fundraisers at his DC hotel. He has hosted foreign dignitaries at public expense at his Mar-A-Lago resort. Every time he stays at his properties, which is very often, the Secret Service and other personnel must be accommodated at public expense on his private property.

Obama and Biden didn't bilk the government. Biden's wealth increase has been rather modest over the decades of service. Obama didn't make his money from government but from private speech giving, appearances post-presidency and book sales.

You are writing in response to today's events. I'm talking in generalities. He is very much an advocate of the military but doesn't believe we should be in a war every 4 years. He stands for the flag/national anthem. He has worked intensely to pass a number of policies. You may not like capitalism, you're welcome to go elsewhere. In terms of his character, yes of course it's appalling. The insurrection has been in the works for weeks-people planning to go down to DC to protest. So if you're saying he is facilitating it, what about all those riots in Minnesota, Portland, Seattle. They took over a street & set up a camp. Do they own the street. They set businesses on fire & broke windows. Is that patriotic-why didn't the mayors crack down. They showed they did not have the guts.

I believe Obama took a lot of trips to Hawaii, the Vineyard. No president skips out on their privileges. The secret service has to follow him too.

Without mentioning another riot, protest, whathaveyou, make a defense for storming the Capitol building.

Just once I wanna see one of you defend this without immediately trying to deflect to something else. It's absolutely astounding that it's so consistent.

This is how I know it’s a cult and not a political movement. They can not bring themselves to speak ill of the cult or its godman.

Quite shocking to see for me as an outsider. The fact that he still enjoys so much support from so many people is quite baffling. A cult and a sect? Definitely!

What a disgrace this has turned out to be for the US. The happenings are being broadcasted worldwide and your nation comes off as a banana republic- I'm sorry to say.
Maybe next time you'll be able to nominate a more mentally sane and younger candidate than Trump/ Hillary, Biden and Sanders. I mean c'mon, dont you have any younger and more suitable candidates than those old geeks?

Repeat of French history or John Brown or Nat Turner. When people feel their voices not heard re: legislation, this is what the resort to. The republic is broken & it cannot be fixed because people divide themselves into 2 camps: red or blue & neither side will come to the center.

Hi. We Americans like Denmark and the Danish people, but you've gotten the situation here backwards. I'm not entirely surprised, considering that all the resources of the defeated political party and its cause were thrown into destroying the man whom they didn't like winning the 2016 election instead of their own nominee. They vowed to do it--in public. So if all the resources of the media have misled you about who has been working tirelessly to divide this country, I can understand that.

No, this was just the culmination.

I'm talking in generalities. He is very much an advocate of the military but doesn't believe we should be in a war every 4 years.
I commend him for this.

He stands for the flag/national anthem.
He has wrapped himself in the flag while flagrantly disregarding the Constitution.

He has worked intensely to pass a number of policies.
The Muslim ban, dashing the hopes of Dreamers, rescinding help to refugees, separating children from their parents at the border, condoning murder by Blackwater guards, permitting drilling in the pristine Arctic refuge, easing clean air and water regulations, backstabbing our allies while winking at Putin, Kim Jong-un and Mohammed bin Salman.

You may not like capitalism, you're welcome to go elsewhere.
Nothing like a personal attack that totally misses the mark.

That's bad logic that because some mayors might not have cracked down hard enough on unpeaceful protesters, Donald should be excused for inciting insurrection and rioting.

Obama did not funnel the secret service protection monies into his own private pocket.

Pence actually has a very good shot at winning in 2024.
He hasn't been caught up in the Trump rhetoric or crass remarks.

He has a formidable stage presence and is rather good on conservative issues.

Well spoken man IMHO.
On the contrary, while I do agree he's pretty uncontroversial for a republican candidate on his own, any campaign he did would be utterly overshadowed by his specter of his VPship, scaring off anyone who already is against Trump. And at the same time, he'd probably would also be unable to rally up the base of support Trump has clung to this whole time. A lot of this is going to depend on what the GOP decides to do. Do they attempt to distance themselves from Trump in the future, hoping to get back the moderate supporters they've scared away, or do they double down with Trump's base?

If Pence doesn’t leave the country after January 20, I think he should consider himself lucky if he survives to 2024. The MAGA Students of the Seventh Seal believe, at Trump’s urging that Pence stabbed Trump in the back yesterday. His political future as a candidate for anything is over.
