I believe He forgot about me. He chose my abusers, instead.

I understand what you're saying. But what I meant is, what do you believe about Jesus Himself?

I don't know anymore. I know I don't believe in miracles now, and I really needed one.

What it sounds like to me at this point is that you've lost faith in the system and in your circumstances. Which is perfectly understandable. What sort of miracle do you need?

I don't know anymore. I know I don't believe in miracles now, and I really needed one.

But isn't the fact that you survived the abuse the miracle you needed?

You're probably familiar with the Footprints in the Sand poem but I'll quote it anyway:

Footprints-in-the-Sand-Poem.jpg

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."

I find it harder and harder to relate to Christ and the Bible. It didn't help that I was abused growing up, and that those I turned to did nothing.

When a Christian says "I'll pray for you," I think, "Why don't you DO something to help." Praying is fine, but if no one does anything, nothing happens.

Why did there HAVE to be a tree with forbidden fruit? And why did we name our phones and computers after them (Macintosh, Apple, Blackberry...lol).

If this is the fallen world, well then, this is hell. Obviously.

Why so many parables? Why not just tell us. Make it clear.

Why must some be damned? Why don't the elect know who they are? More anxiety.

Why do we eat the blood and the body? Does this sound right? Feels vampire-ish?

Why were books left out of the bible?

I lost my faith, and the Bible tells me I wasn't chosen, so I fell away. Not fair.

Why is there possession, but also the Holy Spirit?

Why are there few miracles, but also magic?

If you could move a mountain, wouldn't that be weird for others?

I could go on....but none of this makes sense to me now.

Pre-Corona world was a better one. Maybe we were sent here because we failed in life, and the Bible was given to us to believe and go quietly.

I could go on....I am so lost and numb.

Few things. One, you weren't the only person who was abused growing up. I personally was physically and verbally abused by my dad for well over 20 years. It would STILL be going on if I still hadn't had the means to move out. That doesn't mean any more or less that a person can believe in God. That doesn't count as a reason at all.

Second of all, no nobody knows if they're elect or not. But the doctrine of Total Depravity gives Christians a huge clue as to whether they're elect or not. The elect and converted will have repentance in their life, those without the Holy Spirit would care less about their sins. There are also many other ways to know if you're saved and have the Holy Spirit or not but that, is the most basic. If you acknowledge andfeel sorry to God for your sins and wish for your sins to go the way of the dodo then that's a good sign, if you don't well then well that explains why you left the faith. There are damned people because we all deserve hell, it is only by God's grace that any of us were given the chance of salvation at all. We send ourselves to hell not the other way around.

Third of all, Jesus explained many of his parables to his disciples in the gospels and the ones that he didn't explain are quite obvious as to their meaning. Which ones are you struggling with?

Fourth of all, the body and blood of Christ symbolizes what Jesus did for us on the Cross it was not the literal body and blood of Christ.

Fifth of all, books were left out of the Bible because 1. They didn't line up with the rest of the Bible scripture has to not contradict itself and 2. Because they were found out to never have been written by the people in question but were written by other people and not written by God. God wrote the Bible, not humans.

There are many miracles and God still shows himself to some people even today. The age where God talks to certain people and prophets are not over and never were. Case in point, I saw the silhouette of Jesus and the Holy Spirit too and saw bits of heaven. There are miracles and sightings happening everyday around the world. Just because you don't hear about it on the news because they're labeled as psychopaths who imagined things or they don't talk about it because they don't want to be labeled such or just plainly they don't believe them. Open your ears and you'll see lots of people talking about miracles.

Why don't you give yourself and God a chance, he does not condemn anyone (at least when they are still alive).

He can forgive you just fine, we have an enemy which would be satisfied with you making this kind of statements, and for a reason, the enemy is probably filling your head with ideas, the worse we can do is entertain them,

There is bad and good paths, and this one is bad, for you spiritual well being, for your health could be also, don't waste time and reconcile yourself with God, i am sure he welcomes you back, there is lots of dangers in this world, having God at your side is the best.

Don't lose faith just because others have lost it and let you down. Christians are to speak up and not stay silent as is being taught in many churches today. Those that knew you were being abused and did nothing will be held accountable.

"When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you shall surely die!' and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand."

to start God bless what happened in your life are instances of life itself whether you believe or not it would have occurred now the difference is how you deal with it use it as a learning point and grow stronger and put your trust in Christ to give you the strength to go forward . and it is true a Christian shouldn't just pray but actually help and the parables are Christ way of making sure you actually read the bible and allow the Holy Spirit guide you and help you interpret the word , possession is demonic and you have no control while the Holy Spirit is a guest you welcomed into your life and he does not control you but you allow him to guide you sort of like your conscious. moving a mountain means having faith in God that what ever burdens will be gone. sometimes it is not meant literally but emotionally or spiritually . you have allowed desperation to control your faith having faith in God means being patient

Thanks for reaching out. I feel your pain, I've been there. In tears as I write this...

I was reminded of the line in this song that talks about the reckless love of God, how he leaves the ninety-nine to go after the one. So, I wanted to share it with you.

I don't know anymore. I know I don't believe in miracles now, and I really needed one.
Why don't we all get the miracles we need when we need them?

I believe He forgot about me. He chose my abusers, instead.
How do you know that God chose your abusers? How do you know that God forgot about you?

You ask excellent questions. People are supposed to be God's hands and feet. Christians, especially, are supposed to be God's kings and priests. Why didn't they help you?

Why must some be damned?
Considering the abuse you've been through, you can answer this question better than a lot of people.

Why don't the elect know who they are? More anxiety.
I lost my faith, and the Bible tells me I wasn't chosen, so I fell away. Not fair.
Some of your questions assume that God elects people for salvation and chooses others for damnation. What loving parent would do that? This is bad interpretation of the Bible.

I hope that you finally found help and that you're safe now.

I just posted on that, it's in James Chapter 2, it's about helping people without clothing or food as a tangible expression of faith, but in general applies to anything else as well.

Instead of saying "I'll pray for you" also live by faith and do something about it.

Sorry I can't help more, as I am not there.

A quick response. While some genuine questions, part of what you are rejecting is a particular theology (way of understanding God). It may be that you have lost your faith in your theological traditions, but that does not mean that there is no God.

I am sorry to hear this. I hope you are in a safe place now. I do want to point out one thing in your comments. It seems you have been misled by some false doctrine, your quote, "the bible tells me I wasn't chosen". If you care to tell me where the bible tells you that, I would be happy to address your understanding. Blessings.
