I will never forget one of my late mentors The Rev Dr. David Stewart.

He was Principle of the Bible College of New Zealand in the 80's.

A point of difference was that if you went to him with a concern you would be invited to kneel with him on the carpet before Jesus and commit the matter into His care.

David had an MA in mathematics from Oxford and was charged with predicting the optimum ionospheric paths for the pilots radio communications during the Battle of Britain. He developed his own system and was years ahead of his time.

No one generally knew about his intellectual achievements, he was a humble giant of a man, a father to the pastors.

Intellectual humility is rare and beautiful.

Kneeling should have an important place in our lives.

I just want to remind us all that kneeling is important to Jesus as well...

Kneeling shows humility of the kneeler and honor for the one being knelt to...

Just read "O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice..."

He sounds like he was a man after God's own heart, and thus, very very wise (as humility and wisdom are conjoined "twins", so to speak---it's literally impossible to have one without the other.....tbey are BOTH the "fruit" of what is written in Pr 9:10, and that is the fear of the Lord, which is ALWAYS our "starting point" to "knowing God and walking "humbly" with Him, as it is written in Micah 6:8.

What caught my eye is that you posted that when anyone came to him for help, he immediately bowed with them before God. THIS alone indicates that he was a very very wise man. It also brings to mind Pr 3:5-6.

You all were BLESSED to know this very wise man.

Thank you for sharing.
