On the abortion subject, I used to be pro-choice. My thoughts were that many of the women who obtain abortions are delinquents who shouldn’t be having kids in the first place. It’s not like you see good, pious Christian women aborting their offspring; instead it’s bad women who make bad choices.

Later God told me that he didn’t approve of my views and forced me to be pro-life. Now when I talk about abortion and espouse pro-life views, I’m not really being totally sincere because it isn’t really possible for my opinion on this subject to change. But at least I try to do what God wants, even if I don’t believe everything I say.

Anyway, I’ve noticed God has shown himself to be inconsistent with his pro-life position, at least in my situation. To be pro-life doesn’t mean that you’re solely opposed to abortion; it also follows that you’re against unjustified wars and other situations that are anti-life.

So where has God been inconsistent with his pro-life position in my experience? I don’t want to delve into all the details, but long story short: God failed to keep his promise to me after I fulfilled his requirements, and as a consequence other people died. Again, this isn’t a situation that I wish to describe in detail, but I sincerely and absolutely believe it happened.

I’ve been asking God many times why is that he told me to be pro-life because he is supposedly pro-life, but people ended up dying who wouldn’t have died had God kept his word to me once I did all that he required, implying an inconsistency. Unfortunately, I don’t appear to be getting an answer from him, so I feel frustrated. Since God isn’t answering my prayer, I would like others to pray for me and tell God to explain his inconsistent pro-life position to me.

God has a pro-life stance, towards innocents. But He will use many different ways to rid the earth of people who persist in unrepentant evil, including war. Have a read of the following page regarding what I feel is God's view of war, it explains things like the attack on Cannan by Moses etc. Answers to Difficult Questions | Everybody Matters Ministry

Trust that God will ALWAYS answer your prayer. But understand that sometimes, time must pass before that answer can be received. Also, consider there are other laws that may come into play with regard to this issue. Perhaps foremost among them is that it is forbidden to interfere with human choices. We can ask for spiritual help and guidance in our decision making, but it is not permitted to interfere with willful choices. Sometimes, we choose to believe things that we want to believe. When this happens, God will not intervene--even if the choice is a false one. We MUST choose. This kind of error often leads to much confusion because apparent inconsistencies arise.

10 Lessons From the Book of Job {The Conclusion} - Women Living Well
Here’s 10 Lessons We Learn From the Book of Job
1.) Bad things happen to good people .
The book of Job opens in verse one by telling us that Job was a blameless, upright man who feared God and turned away from evil. Then…his life unraveled. Job’s suffering did not come because he was bad but rather because of his unwavering faithfulness to God. (Job 1:8)

2.) In the midst of suffering, we must never lose our hope in God.
One of the greatest statements of faith in all of scripture is found right in the middle of Job chapter 13. Job says: “Though he slay me, I will hope in him.” No one and nothing can steal your joy or your peace when your hope is in God. Never lose your hope in God!

3.) Our friends may fail us in the midst of our misery but God never does.
Job’s friends put him on the defense. Job said of his three friends: “Miserable comforters are you all!” (16:2) Job proclaims where his deep strength flows from:

For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
26 And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
yet in my flesh I shall see God,
27 whom I shall see for myself,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
My heart faints within me!
~Job 19:25-27

One day – we will see with our own eyes our Redeemer! He is alive today and forevermore and because He lives – we can face tomorrow with victory!

4.) Even in the midst of God’s silence, His presence is with us.
Job wrestled and wrestled with God’s silence in the midst of his suffering. Over 25 times he asked the question “why?” and he continually asked for the opportunity to defend his case before God. Job had entered the fiery furnace of suffering.

Job writes:

But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
11 My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside.
12 I have not departed from the commandment of his lips;
I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.
~Job 23:10-12

5.) Wisdom comes from fearing God and turning away from evil.
Humility is key. Pride can interfere with us following the wise ways of the Lord. And when pride interferes it clouds our vision, and before we know it – we are on the wrong path towards evil. Job explains in Job 28:28:

‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’

6.) God is with us in the midst of our storms.
The Lord is our good shepherd and He never leaves our side. He walks with us through the valleys. He restores our soul when we are weary. He leads us to the path of righteousness when we have lost our way. He gives us courage when we are scared and he comforts us when we are hurting. Our God is the God of the storm.

7.) God is in control.
God is the creator of the universe. He is mighty and powerful. We can trust Him with our lives. We see in Job chapter one, that nothing came into the life of Job which did not first go through the hands of his loving God. Every page of scripture points to a sovereign God – from the creation account in Genesis to the return of Christ in Revelation, our God is in complete control.

8.) Sometimes, in the midst of our suffering, we sin.
God accepts a humble and repentant heart. In Job 42, we see Job surrender to God and repent. Job recognized that God is the creator and he is just his creation.

I despise myself, and repent in the dust of ashes.
~Job 42:6

9.) Sometimes we sin against our friends.
Job’s friends not only failed to be there for Job in a supportive, loving way but they gave poor advice based on their misunderstandings of God.

The Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “My anger burns against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.
~Job 42:7

10.) After repentance and forgiveness comes blessings.
In Job 42, Job made a burnt offering for his friends and prayed for them as God commanded Him to do. God accepted Job’s prayer for them and THEN Job’s fortunes were restored WHEN he prayed for his friends!

Isn’t this an interesting connection? Job forgave his friends BEFORE he knew how blessed he was about to become. It was Job’s prayer that released blessings!

“The Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning.”
~Job 42:12

Final Conclusion
When we are feeling stressed and frustrated and wounded by this world may we step back and take a look at all of God’s creation. Get outside under the big sky and remind yourself who your God is. Then, get into His word and learn more about God’s love for you. Trust that if he can create and sustain the entire universe, surely He will take care of you.

When God Doesn't Seem to Keep His Promises (Part 1 of 2) - Flourish
Five reasons it seems God has failed
I’ve come to realize there are usually five reasons why it may seem God has failed to keep his promises:

  1. God didn’t say it. We must know God’s Word for ourselves, not assume that what everyone else says is true. For example, an often-quoted “promise” is “God will never give us more than we can bear.” Yet, God didn’t say that, but instead said: (click the following links) 1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Corinthians 12:8-10
  2. God said it but we’ve taken His promise out of context. This is easy to do when we note “promises” online or in books, but don’t also uncover within scripture the context into which the promise was given. God’s Word tells us God expects us to be able to rightly handle His Word. 2 Timothy 2:15
  3. God said it but I don’t believe Him. True faith is always based upon a relationship with God. And it has everything to do with trusting God is who is says He is and believing He will do all He said He will do. Hebrews 11:6
  4. We’ve failed to recognize the promise’s conditions and purposes. God’s promises aren’t so we can escape all trouble and have an easy life but to give us the power and ability to become like Jesus. They were also given for us to grow in intimacy with God in Christ. So His promises fulfill His greater purposes for our lives, He often set boundaries in place for their fulfillment. 2 Peter 1:3-8
  5. We don’t think like God. My husband and I have had to face this as we’ve grappled with the deaths of our former spouses. I’m learning to ask for God’s perspective when I don’t understand. I must also realize that sometimes my finite perspective can’t yet see God’s fulfillment. Isaiah 55:8-9; Proverbs 3:5-6

God is pro life in the same sense he tells you not to murder. Because you are definitely cutting a human life short with abortion.

Also if God promised something he will do it, because he is not a liar, unless it was not God who you were hearing.

Sorry my friend for your lose, But People die. And this is due to Adam and Eve's choice. This will continue until the culmination, When God and His Christ come with all the Heavenly host to bring an end to what Adam and Eve's choice had brought.

God is extremely consistent and very pro life. Jesus said in Him is life and it is abundant. God would have us chose life and live through Him and His Christ.

It might help if the particular situation you prefer not to reveal were revealed to a mature Christian who could help you see the truth of the matter, which you may be missing.

So you can't or don't want to?

The reason you were asked to expound is so one fully understands your view on Heb 4:1-9 before they respond.

That response will appear shortly on the Book of Hebrews thread where the request was made.

All you are doing here is finding fault with the term (pro-life) itself. That usage is not God's doing and it certainly does not represent any inconsistency on his part.

I’ve been asking God many times why is that he told me to be pro-life because he is supposedly pro-life, but people ended up dying who wouldn’t have died had God kept his word to me once I did all that he required, implying an inconsistency.
Try being guided by his revealed word in Scripture rather than by emotion or perceived insights that are then attributed to God.

Please read Habakkuk. Sometimes we think that God isn't doing what He says He would do but it's not His fault that we think the way we do. Prophet Habakkuk complained to God about the injustices going on in his time, he thought that God wasn't acting as He should and that He wasn't consistent in His ways but when God unravelled His plan to him, He was humbled. Rather than judging God ask Him to explain the situation causing confusion to you and be patiently wait for His response. God bless
