Christianity described in very simplistic terms can be summarized as,'me moving out and God moving in'. This means that God has to move into every corner of my existence, even areas I don't want to let go of. It means allowing God to have unlimited access to your life.
When Jesus takes over a life, He just doesn't want the helm and the hallways, He wants the entire ship.
To go where Jesus is going and be a part of His wondrous plan, we must deny ourselves, pick our crosses daily and follow Him. We ought to empty ourselves, surrendering to His lead, letting go of our lives and all we hold dear.
Daily you must trust Him, surrendering everything for Him to do as He sees fit. If you want to join up with Him, you must let Him lead.

Welcome, Palm Tree!

I am still struggling with allowing Jesus to lead my life.
The Bible says that the world and all that there is in it belong to God. Life and death belong to Him, we all belong to Him. I understand the struggle. He is a potter, we're a piece of clay. A potter does with the clay whatever he wishes. Just allow Him to have unlimited access to every corner of your existence. Daily you must trust Him, surrendering everything, including the blood in your veins and the breath in your lungs for Him to do as He sees fit. Let Him lead and trust the process. Ask Him for strength to surrender to His ruling control in every area of your life. God bless!

I dislike the analogy of the pot and the potter. The potter doesn't need the pot to act at all. The potter is already in complete control and does not expect the pot to do anything but be a pot. We are more than pots and God is more than a potter. His ways are not our ways.

I think you got me wrong.

Jeremiah's use of the analogy is appropriate. God is saying to Israel that like like a pot Israel has no role in what it is , what it was and what it will be only He the potter has any say in any of that/. You seemed to be saying that we have a role in allowing Him to do things within our lives . I agree we have no choice but to surrender, but God doesn't actually need us to do that nor do we actually need to consciously decide to surrender for god to have His way within our lives. . If something is God's Will then it is what will be. When we do consciously surrender, it is only for our own personal benefit not because God needs us to do that. When we willingly give everything into God's hands, it lifts a multitude of unnecessary burdens from our shoulders and allows us to live life in a much more meaningful and satisfying way with the added assurance that we will be with God even more intimately when this life phase is over.

I like your quote, "Christianity described in very simplistic terms can be summarized as,'me moving out and God moving in'" because it leaves no room for self or the flesh. A totally surrendered life to Christ is peaceful and calm. When I think about your quote I think about Enoch, "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God" Hebrews 11:5.
