The day of firstfruits is Pentecost, the wave loaf, on the morrow of the seventh Sabbath counted from the morrow first Sabbath of unleavened bread.

Le 23:16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.
17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.

Nu 28:26 Also in the day of the firstfruits, when ye bring a new meat offering unto the LORD, after your weeks be out, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work:

The wave sheaf is brought on the morrow of the first day of unleavened bread.

Lev 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: {sheaf: or, handful: Heb. omer }
11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

Pentecost is seven full weeks after the Feast of Firstfruits:

Leviticus 23:15 “You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering.

No, their is no feast on the 16th. The 16th is the second day of the feast of unleavened bread, a seven day feast.
Lev 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover.
6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

It was a festival sabbbath.

The SDA and their founder hold that sabbath is THE ISSUE in the Bible.

How important is the sabbath in the Bible? Let's start with the Old Testament.

The word "sabbath" doesn't occur in Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Job, Jonah, Song of Solomon, or in Ruth or Ester. Among the minor prophets, the word "sabbath" isn't mentioned in Joel, Micah, Nahum, Habukkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah or Malachi. Among the major prophets, sabbath isn't mentioned in Daniel.

The sabbath is mentioned once in the Psalms. It appears in the heading to Psalm 92.

Genesis and Exodus are a special case. There is no mention of sabbath in Genesis or any mention of it in Exodus until after the Israelites leave Egypt. The first mention of sabbath in the Bible is when manna falls for the Israelites and they are told to gather a double portion the day before the sabbath. In Egypt, the Israelites never asked the Egyptians if they could practice a sabbath and they never complained about not being allowed to.

In Genesis, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph never practiced a sabbath. In Genesis 9, God lays down the "Noahide laws," that Noah and his descendants are to follow. A seventh day sabbath is not one of them. In Genesis 17, God makes the Covenant of Circumcision with Abraham. Again, no mention of sabbath. In Genesis 14, Abraham gives a tenth of his possessions to Melchizedek, King of Salem and Priest of God Most High. Here we have the first mention of a tithe but there is still nothing about a sabbath.

I get the impression that sabbath is not as basic to God's plan as the SDA think it is.
That’s a pretty general statement about SDA and it’s not the SDA Sabbath it’s Gods Sabbath. The Sabbath is mentioned in the Bible well over 100 times, the first day is mentioned I think 8 times and never does God bless or make Holy the first day of the week. That doesn’t even cover how many times keeping Gods commandments are mentioned in the Bible. Seems like some are looking at this all wrong by rejecting the very important day our Heavenly Father asked us to Remember and keep Holy from creation.

Since you are keeping track thought I would leave you with these 100 facts about the Sabbath and Sunday thanks to SabbathTruth.com

WHY keep the Sabbath day? What is the object of the Sabbath? Who made it? When was it made, and for whom? Which day is the true Sabbath? Many keep the first day of the week, or Sunday. What Bible authority have they for this? Some keep the seventh day, or Saturday. What Scripture have they for that? Here are the facts about both days, as plainly stated in the Word of God:

  1. After working the first six days of the week in creating this earth, the great God rested on the seventh day. (Genesis 2:1.3.)
  2. This stamped that day as God's rest day, or Sabbath day, as Sabbath day means rest day. To illustrate: When a person is born on a certain day, that day thus becomes his birthday. So when God rested upon the seventh day, that day became His rest, or Sabbath, day.
  3. Therefore the seventh day must always be God's Sabbath day. Can you change your birthday from the day on which you were born to one on which you were not born? No. Neither can you change God's rest day to a day on which He did not rest. Hence the seventh day is still God's Sabbath day.
  4. The Creator blessed the seventh day. (Genesis 2:3.)
  5. He sanctified the seventh day. (Exodus 20:11.)
  6. He made it the Sabbath day in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 2:1-3.)
  7. It was made before the fall; hence it is not a type; for types were not introduced till after the fall.
  8. Jesus says it was made for man (Mark 2:27), that is, for the race, as the word man is here unlimited; hence, for the Gentile as well as for the Jew.
  9. It is a memorial of creation. (Exodus 20:11; 31:17.) Every time we rest upon the seventh day, as God did at creation, we commemorate that grand event.
  10. It was given to Adam, the head of the human race. (Mark 2:27; Genesis 2:1-3.)
  11. Hence through him, as our representative, to all nations. (Acts 17:26.)
  12. It is' not a Jewish institution, for it was made 2,300 years before ever there was a Jew.
  13. The Bible never calls it the Jewish Sabbath, but always "the Sabbath of the Lord thy God." Men should be cautious how they stigmatize God's holy rest day.
  14. Evident reference is made to the Sabbath and the seven-day week all, through the patriarchal age. (Genesis 2:l-3; 8:10,12; 29:27,28.etc.)
  15. It was a part of God's law before Sinai. (Exodus 16:4, 27-29.)
  16. Then God placed it in the heart of His moral law. (Exodus 20:1-17.) Why did He place it there if it was not like the other nine precepts, which all admit to be immutable?
  17. The seventh-day Sabbath was commanded by the voice of the living God. (Deuteronomy 4:12,13.)
  18. Then He wrote the commandment with His own finger. (Exodus 31:18.)
  19. He engraved it in the enduring stone, indicating its imperishable nature. (Deuteronomy 5:22.)
  20. It was sacredly preserved in the ark in the holy of holies. (Deuteronomy 10:1-5.)
  21. God forbade work upon the Sabbath, even in the most hurrying times. (Exodus 34:21.)
  22. God destroyed the Israelites in the wilderness because they profaned the Sabbath. (Ezekiel 20:12, 13.)
  23. It is the sign of the true God, by which we are to know Him from false gods. (Ezekiel 20:20.)
  24. God promised that Jerusalem should stand forever if the Jews would keep the Sabbath (Jeremiah 17:24, 25.)
  25. He sent them into the Babylonish captivity for breaking it. (Nehemiah 13:18.)
  26. He destroyed Jerusalem for its violation. (Jeremiah 17:27.)
  27. God has pronounced a special blessing on all the Gentiles who will keep it. (Isaiah 56:6, 7.)
  28. This is in the prophecy, which refers wholly to the Christian dispensation. (See Isaiah 56.)
  29. God has promised to bless all who keep the Sabbath. (Isaiah 56:2.)
  30. The Lord requires us to call it "honourable". (Isaiah 58:13.) Beware, ye who take delight in calling it the. “old Jewish Sabbath,” “a yoke of bondage,” etc.
  31. After the holy Sabbath has been trodden down "many generations,” it is to be restored in the last days. (Isaiah 58:12,13.)
  32. All the holy prophets kept the seventh day.
  33. When the Son of God came, He kept the seventh day all His life. (Luke 4:16; John 15:10.) Thus He followed His Father's example at creation. Shall we not be safe in following the example of both the Father and the Son?
  34. The seventh day is the Lord's Day. (See Revelation 1:10; Mark 2:28; Isaiah 58:13; Exodus 20:10.)
  35. Jesus was Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28), that is, to love and protect it, as the husband is the lord of the wife, to love and cherish her (1 Peter 3:6.)
  36. He vindicated the Sabbath as a merciful institution designed for man's good. (Mark 2:23-28.)
  37. Instead of abolishing the Sabbath, He carefully taught how it should be observed. (Matthew 12:1-13.)
  38. He taught His disciples that they should do nothing upon the Sabbath day but what was “lawful” (Matthew 12:12.)
  39. He instructed His apostles that the Sabbath should be prayerfully regarded forty years after His resurrection. (Matthew 24:20.)
  40. The pious women who had been with Jesus carefully kept the seventh day after His death. (Luke 23:56.)
  41. Thirty years after Christ's resurrection, the Holy Spirit' expressly calls it "the Sabbath day,"(Acts 13:14.)
  42. Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, called it the "Sabbath day" in A.D. 45. (Acts 13:27.) Did not Paul know? Or shall we believe modern teachers, who affirm that it ceased to be the Sabbath at the resurrection of Christ?
  43. Luke, the inspired Christian historian, writing as late as A.D. 62, calls it the "Sabbath day." (Acts 13:44.)
  44. The Gentile converts called it the Sabbath. (Acts 13:42.)
  45. In the great Christian council, A.D. 49, in the presence of the apostles and thousands of disciples, James calls it the "sabbath day." (Acts 15:21)
  46. It was customary to hold prayer meetings upon that day. (Acts 16:13.)
  47. Paul read the Scriptures in public meetings on that day. (Acts 17:2, 3.)
  48. It was his custom to preach upon that day. (Acts 17:2,3.)
  49. The Book of Acts alone gives a record of his holding eighty-four meetings upon that day. (See Acts 13:14, 44; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4. 11.)
  50. There was never any dispute between the Christians and the Jews about the Sabbath day. This is proof that the Christians still observed the same day that the Jews did.
  51. In all their accusations against Paul, they never charged him with disregarding the Sabbath day. Why did they not, if he did not keep it?
  52. But Paul himself expressly declared that he had kept the law. “Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all." Acts 25:8. How could this be true if he had not kept the Sabbath?
  53. The Sabbath is mentioned in the New Testament fifty-nine times, and always with respect, bearing the same title it had in the Old Testament, “the Sabbath day.”
  54. Not a word is said anywhere in the New Testament about the Sabbath's being abolished, done away, changed, or anything of the kind.
  55. God has never given permission to any man to work upon it. Reader, by what authority do you use - the seventh day for common labor?
  56. No Christian of the New Testament, either before or after the resurrection, ever did ordinary work upon the seventh day. Find one case of that kind, and we will yield the question. Why should modem Christians do differently from Bible Christians?
  57. There is no record that God has ever removed His blessing or sanctification from the seventh day.
  58. As the Sabbath was kept in Eden before the fall, so it will be observed eternally in the new earth after the restitution. (Isaiah 66:22, 23.)
  59. The seventh-day Sabbath was an important part of the law of God, as it came from His own mouth, and was written by His own finger upon stone at Sinai. (See Exodus 20.) When Jesus began His work, He expressly declared that He had not come to destroy the law. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets.” Matthew 5:17
  60. Jesus severely condemned the Pharisees as hypocrites for pretending to love God, while at the same time they made void one of the Ten Commandments by their tradition. The keeping of Sunday is only a tradition of men.

40 Bible Facts Concerning the First Day of the Week

  1. The very first thing recorded In the Bible is work done on Sunday, the first day of the week. (Genesis l: l-5.) The Creator Himself did this. If God made the earth on Sunday, can it be wicked for us to work on Sunday?
  2. God commands men to work upon the first day of the week. (Exodus 20.8-11.) Is it wrong to obey God?
  3. None of the patriarchs ever kept it.
  4. None of the holy prophets ever kept it.
  5. By the express command of-God, His holy people used the first day of the week as a common working day for 4,000 years, at least.
  6. God Himself calls it a "working" day. (Ezekiel 46:1.)
  7. God did not rest upon it.
  8. He never blessed it.
  9. Christ did not rest upon it.
  10. Jesus was a carpenter (Mark 6:3), and worked at His trade until He was thirty years old. He kept the Sabbath and worked six days in the week, as all admit. Hence He did many a hard day’s work on Sunday.
  11. The apostles worked upon it during the same time.
  12. The apostles never rested upon it.
  13. Christ never blessed it.
  14. It has never been blessed by any divine authority.
  15. It has never been sanctified.
  16. No law was ever given to enforce the keeping of it, hence it is no transgression to work upon it. “Where no law is, there is no transgression.” Romans 4:15 (See also 1 John 3:4.)
  17. The New Testament nowhere forbids work to be done on it.
  18. No penalty is provided for its violation.
  19. No blessing is promised for its observance.
  20. No regulation is given as to how it ought to be observed. Would this be so if the Lord wished us to keep it?
  21. It is never called the Christian Sabbath.
  22. It is never called the Sabbath day at all.
  23. It is never called the Lord’s day.
  24. It is never called even a rest day.
  25. No sacred title whatever is applied to it. Then why should we call it holy?
  26. It is simply called “first day of the week.”
  27. Jesus never-mentioned it in any way, never took its name upon His lips, so far as the record shows.
  28. The word Sunday never occurs in the Bible at all.
  29. Neither God, Christ, nor inspired men ever said one word in favor of Sunday as a holy day.
  30. The first day of the week is mentioned only eight times in all the New Testament. (Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; Luke 24:1; John 20:1, 19; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2.)
  31. Six of these texts refer to the same first day of the week.
  32. Paul directed the saints to look over their secular affairs on that day. (1Corinthians 16:2.)
  33. In all the New Testament we have a record of only one religious meeting held upon that day, and even this was a night meeting. (Acts 20:5-12.)
  34. There is not intimation that they ever held a meeting upon it before or after that.
  35. It was not their custom to meet on that day.
  36. There was no requirement to break bread on that day.
  37. We have an account of only one instance in which it was done. (Acts 20:7.)
  38. That was done in the night-after midnight. (Verses 7-11.) Jesus celebrated it on Thursday evening (Luke 22), and the disciples sometimes did it every day (Acts 2:42-46.)
  39. The Bible nowhere says that the first day of the week commemorates the resurrection of Christ. This is a tradition of men, which contradicts the law of God. (Matthew 15:1-9.) Baptism commemorates the burial and resurrection of Jesus. (Romans 6:3-5.)
  40. Finally, the New Testament is totally silent with regard to any change of the Sabbath day or any sacredness for the first day.

God gave other Sabbaths besides the seventh day sabbath.
The day of Atonement was a Sabbath every year without regard to the day of the week.
Lev 16:29 And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
30 For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
31 It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.

Le 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

Le 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. {celebrate: Heb. rest }

The feast of firstfruits or ingathering. When all the crops had been gathered in from the field at the end of the harvest.

Le 23:39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.

Le 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. {celebrate: Heb. rest }

The feast of firstfruits or ingathering. When all the firstripe of the crops had been gathered at the end of the harvest.

Le 23:39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
Yes there is more than one Sabbath in the Bible. The 4th commandment has no mention of festivals , food or drink. Exodus 20:8-11. The scriptures you are referring to are the feasts days which has nothing to do with the weekly Sabbath. @LoveGodsWord has a great reference to the 7 feasts you are referring to and hopefully he can share those again if he has a moment.

Oh but they do have to do with a Sabbath, they are festival Sabbaths. God commanded them to be kept. Just the same as he commanded the seventh day Sabbath for the nation of Israel. He is our high priest who has made an atonement for us.

Only if the festival is on the seventh day than it is called a High Sabbath. There is no mention in the commandments of God about food, drink or festivals. There were many customs and ordinances in the days of Moses that is completely different than the commandments of God.

The Feast of Firstfruits happened the day after the Sabbath:

Leviticus 23:11and he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, so that you may be accepted. On the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.

And Pentecost happened seven Sabbaths after that:

Leviticus 23:15-16 You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering. 16 You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a grain offering of new grain to the Lord.

In 2020, the Feast of Firstfruits was on April 12th while Pentecost was on May 31st.

In Jeremiah 31, the prophet speaks of a New Covenant that goes beyond outward obedience, beyond obedience-on-schedule, the kind you seem to believe in. In the New Covenant, God's will be in the hearts of men and women. This is perfectly consistent with what Jesus told the Pharisees when He told them that He would not follow all the rules that they thought were in force.

Oh Dale,

What voice has convinced you of these things. I implore you to consider God of the Bibles Word in this matter.

Duet. 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

They were supposed to take God seriously and obey HIS Word "From the heart". That was the Command of God to begin with.

But Israel didn't take God of HIS Word Seriously. Caleb did, Joshua did. These two walked the Narrow Path Jesus walked, that few respect God enough to follow. But most refused to believe.

Duet 32:16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

So God "ADDED" a Priesthood Covenant with Levi on Israel's behalf. A Priesthood whose duties included administering God's Law. In other Word's, the people received God's Law through the Shepherds HE placed over them, Levite Priests.

But these Shepherds departed out of the Way. they rejected God's Laws and started teaching from the imagination of their own heart. They Led God's Children Astray.

Jer. 50:6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

Mal. 2:4 And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

5 My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.

6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.

7 For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

8 But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the LORD of hosts.

9 Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law.

So what did God do? How are His People supposed to receive God's Law in their hearts, if the Shepherds He placed over them were not teaching God's Laws? What did God Do when Levi broke the Covenant God made with Him to Administer God's Laws, and to provide for the atonement of Sin "till the Seed should come?

Hebrews tells us.

Heb. 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, (A Faithful Shepherd) which was established upon better promises. (Who can not be corrupted)

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, (Levite Priest's, Shepherds God placed over them that departed out of God's Way) he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

Not according to the Covenant with Levi that I "ADDED" because of Transgression, (Israel broke my Covenant with them and created the Golden Calf.)

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

No more Levite Shepherds to lead My People astray. And here we are, both you and I, with the Oracles of God, not under the total control of Levite Priests to filter God's Word according to the imagination of their own hearts. But in your own home, your own hands. The Christ speaks to us now through HIS Word which is Spirit and Life. You and Him only, no middle man. His Word's in your mind just as He Promised.

Your religious philosophy "In Jeremiah 31, the prophet speaks of a New Covenant that goes beyond outward obedience, beyond obedience-on-schedule, the kind you seem to believe in.", can not be found anywhere in the entire Bible. Jeremiah would NEVER advocate your religious Philosophy here. In fact, you can not find a single verse to support this statement, certainly not Jeremiah. If you can, please provide it.

"This is perfectly consistent with what Jesus told the Pharisees when He told them that He would not follow all the rules that they thought were in force."

Again, you are omitting the biblical fact the these Shepherds were not following God's Laws, Commandments or Statutes.

Zacherias was, Simeon was, Anna was, the Wise men were, but the Priest's/Shepherds who God placed over them were not.

You believe this lie that they were teaching "outward obedience" because you are following the teaching of man. But if you would open your mind to the actual Word's of God you would find that these Shepherds were not obeying God. They led God's People astray, not because they were teaching to obey God, but because they were teaching for doctrines the commandments of Men and Not God.

So of course Jesus told them HE would not follow their Rules. But that is because "their rules" were not the Commandments of God.

At some point a "believer" has to decide what He Believes. Either Every Word of God as Jesus did and instructed us to do. Or the Philosophies of religious men who come in Christ's Name, that Jesus Warned us not to listen to.

Christ is my Sacrifice for all those. There is no uncleaness in him, nor keeping another day in him. But mainly my post was in response to the error that was being said about the law of Moses.

You said;

"Oh but they do have to do with a Sabbath, they are festival Sabbaths. God commanded them to be kept. Just the same as he commanded the seventh day Sabbath for the nation of Israel. He is our high priest who has made an atonement for us."

I asked you some questions regarding your religious philosophy here. It would be kind, and a token of common courtesy and decency, if you would answer them. It's your choice of course.

The word "sabbath" doesn't appear in Revelation but there is something of interest.

In the letter to the church at Ephesus:

I know your afflictions and your poverty — yet you are rich!
I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are
not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
Revelation 2:9 NIV

In many ways the term "synagogue of Satan" is an unfortunate phrase considering the history of antisemitism. The term is misunderstood by antisemites today.

What did it mean when it was written? In Jewish law, to have a synagogue in a town, there had to be ten adult men. The term synagogue of Satan means that there were ten men in the church who were Judaizers, advocates of imposing Jewish law on all Christians, including gentile converts. Throughout the New Testament, the Apostles are in conflict with Judaizers. The members of the "synagogue of Satan" may well have been Judaizers trying to impose the Jewish sabbath and all the rules that went with it on all Christians. It is clear that this policy is condemned.

The Term "synagogue of Satan" refers to religious organizations of men who claim to be spokesmen for God, but are really snared by satan to do it's will. satan's will is to turn folks away from obedience to God which is obedience to satan.

In Jesus' Time they were Religious men who created a profitable business using God's Word as a marketing tool. They promoted religious Philosophies designed to fill seats in the Shrine of Worship they created for this purpose. They taught "smooth things" like Peace, peace, when there was no peace, or as saten convinced Eve "Thou shall surely not die".

In our time the "synagogue of Satan" is run by*****, well let me use Paul's Words.

2 Cor. 11:12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

The goal is the same, to turn folks away from obedience to God. They are cleaver, and they look holy in appearance, as Paul describes " Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh."

It's really quite simple.

2 Cor. 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Jesus warns of this very thing as well.

Matt. 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I (Jesus) am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Regarding your statement "The word "sabbath" doesn't appear in Revelation but there is something of interest."

Either does "Covet".

But the "Commandments of God" does appear several times in Revelation. I'm not sure how or where you get the religious philosophy that "Sabbath" doesn't appear in the Commandments of God, certainly the God of the Bible. If you have something, anything from scriptures to support this doctrine, please share it so we can see where this belief comes from.

Rev. 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev. 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev. 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

I don't know how any one can conclude honestly that "sabbath" or "covet" doesn't appear in God's Commandments.

No sure where you got this doctrine from.

How do we know that the Corinthians and the Galatians worshiped on Sunday? Paul plainly tells us. Paul encouraged the churches in both areas to send a contribution to the church in Jerusalem. Everyone was to give as they were able. When? The money is to be set aside on "the first day of every week," in other words, at weekly worship on Sunday.

Now about the collection for God’s people: Do what I told
the Galatian churches to do.
On the first day of every week, each one of you should set
aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it
up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
Then, when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the
men you approve and send them with your gift to Jerusalem.
If it seems advisable for me to go also, they will accompany
me.
I Corinthians 16:1-4 NIV

Young's Literal Translation makes it even clearer that this coming together on Sunday is not a fluke or a special meeting. It is done every week. It is the normal day of worship.

1 And concerning the collection that [is] for the saints, as I
directed to the assemblies of Galatia, so also ye—do ye; 2 on
every first [day] of the week, let each one of you lay by him,
treasuring up whatever he may have prospered, that when I
may come then collections may not be made; 3 and
whenever I may come, whomsoever ye may approve,
through letters, these I will send to carry your favour to
Jerusalem; 4 and if it be meet for me also to go, with me they
shall go.
I Corinthians 16:1-4 YLT

Every first day of the week means every Sunday.

The Seventh Day Adventists have a convoluted explanation of this passage. To them, the order to set aside money on Sunday, means that on Sunday, when you are in your home, you put the money you mean to give in a jar. Six days later, when you go to church on Saturday, you take the jar, or at least you take the money and put in the pot, the basket, or whatever is used for collection. This take on the passage is enormously strained and pointless. What is to be gained by letting money sit in a jar for six days before taking it to church?

It makes a lot more sense to believe that Paul said to set the money aside, meaning put it in the pot, on Sunday because that is when the Corinthians and the Galatians met for worship.

The day of worship wasn't "changed" to Sunday hundreds of years after the Apostles, it was changed by the Apostles. Early Christians worshiped on Saturday when they were able to worship with Jews, because the Jews went to Synagogue on Saturday. That gave Christians an opportunity to share their belief in Jesus as the Messiah. When it became impossible for Christians to worship with Jews at the Synagogue, that compromise was no longer helpful.

One of the passages, mentioning the first day of the week, used to justify the regular meeting of Christians on Sunday is found in I Corinthians 16:1, 2. It is said by eminent Theologians that this shows that Christians met regularly for worship on the first day and that this passage also refers to the collection of the offering on that day. This is far from the truth.

"Upon the first day of the week let everyone of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come." [I Corinthians 12: 2.]

Who was this collection for? It was for the saints in Jerusalem who had fallen on hard times due to a famine. [See I Corinthians 16:1, 3; II Corinthians 9:1-9; Acts 11: 27: 30; Galatians 2:1,7-10.] This collection was not for the coffers of the church in Corinth and hence churches which gather on Sundays and collect money to see about their own business are not following this example.

What does "lay by him in store" refer to? This speaks of the persons in Corinth etc., storing whatever he had collected for the saints, in his own home or at his own place and not in some church building.

If the church is meeting why is each person told to put the things collected in their own place?(Lay by him in store.)

Why not place them in a central location? Why is it Paul wanted no gatherings when he came? What are gatherings?

The gatherings refer to the action of getting the things for the saints together at their homes. Paul wanted them to collect (gather) everything before he came so that everything would be in place when he came.

He would not have to wait until they gathered the bounty, (e.g. food items, clothing, etc.) He told them to use Sundays to look about these things and not wait until he came, to do so.

This infers that the nature of the things to be collected is not only money but the things wrought from the occupations of the people of Corinth.

Hence they were to be working on the "blessed Lord's day," toiling on that day in order to supply the needs of the brethren in Jerusalem. If this was only money there would be no great need to prepare the bounty before hand, and in fact money would be of limited use in a famine. [Corinthians 9: 5.]

The fact is that, this was not an instruction about a church service or a meeting with the offering being collected but instructions about alms gathering for the Christians in Jerusalem which was to be done upon the first day of the week.

The day of firstfruits is Pentecost, the wave loaf, on the morrow of the seventh Sabbath counted from the morrow first Sabbath of unleavened bread.

Lev 23:10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: {sheaf: or, handful: Heb. omer }
11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

That is Yom HaBikkurim...the morning of the day after the Sabbath of unleavened...then counting the omer to Shavuot (Pentecost)...Yeshua fulfilled that, He was the first fruits from among the dead...

We keep getting the question: When was the sabbath abolished?

The question contains some serious misconceptions. The real question is what requirements were placed on gentile Christians, on non-Jews joining the Christian Church. The answer is found in Acts 15, where there is a gathering of Apostles and disciples in Jerusalem to discuss that question. Observance of an Old Testament sabbath is not one of the requirements placed on non-Jewish Christians. Neither is there any command to obey the Ten Commandments.

With them they sent the following letter: The apostles and
elders, your brothers, To the Gentile believers in Antioch,
Syria and Cilicia: Greetings.
We have heard that some went out from us without our
authorisation and disturbed you, troubling your minds by
what they said.
So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you
with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul —
men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word
of mouth what we are writing.
It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden
you with anything beyond the following requirements:
You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood,
from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual
immorality
. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell
Acts 15:23-29 NIV

In the KJV, the translation that Ellen White used, it comes out this way.

For it seemed good to the Holy
Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than
these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats
offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled,
and from fornication
: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye
shall do well. Fare ye well.
Acts 15:28-29 KJV

The sensible question is what were the requirements for non-Jewish Christians.
They were told to abstain from idolatry and to observe sexual morality.
They were not told to observe an Old Testament sabbath.

Many persons as they interpret the events of Acts chapter 15, arrive at a conclusion which the passage and good sense do not support. They say; "If Sabbath observance was a requirement of the Church, it would have been included among those necessary things,..." .

Are we to believe there is no other command of the Law which applies to the Church? Was this a comprehensive list given by James as to the way of life of a Christian or did he only mention some of what is required; or what should not be done? If that which James mentioned (Acts 15:20-21,29) is all that Gentile Christians should not do then Christianity today is filled with many unnecessary things.

These persons like many others have misunderstood this passage and have imposed on it things which it does not say. This passage rather than making the Gentile more different from the Jew, draws him closer to the Jewish way of life.

Some claim, "...Gentile converts...were ignorant of Jewish Laws" and that "Sabbath keeping:...was unfamiliar to the Gentiles."

The scriptures do not support this.

Gentiles were among those who were in the synagogues on the Sabbath. (See Acts 13:42-48; 14:1;17:1-4; 18:1-4).

In Acts 15 also, James states that; "For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath." (Acts 15:21).

Jewish historian Josephus supports this, "...the multitude of mankind itself have had a great inclination for along time to follow our religious observances; for there is not any city of the Grecians, nor any of the Barbarians, nor any nation whatsoever, whither our custom of resting on the seventh day hath not come... as God pervades all the world, so hath our law passed through all the world also." (Against Apion, 2, 40).

Circumcision - The Point of Contention

The main dispute in Acts 15 was the vexed question of circumcision. Certain disciples were of the view that to be saved, Gentiles had to be circumcised and keep the Law of Moses i.e. they had to keep all the commands in the Law, both those of the sacrificial and of the Ten Commandment system. Note that an uncircumcised person could not take part in the Passover in the Old Covenant (Exodus 12:45-48).

It was being explained by Peter that both Jews and Gentiles will be saved through grace i.e. God's love in allowing His Son to die for us, rather than by sacrifices. (See Acts 15:7-11; Ephesians 2:8-13; Hebrews 9:11-14). Notice that the things mentioned are closely linked to either the sacrificial systems of the Jews or that of the Gentiles and to make it clear what is expected of the new converts then these things were mentioned.

(1) Gentiles had a practice of partaking in food offered to idols (I Corinthians 10:19-21).
(2) Fornication was a part of the rituals performed by Gentiles in service to their gods. (Numbers 25:1-3; I Corinthians 10:8; Deuteronomy 23:17-18; I Kings 14:24)

The Lion Handbook, "The World's Religion" had this comment on Canaanite religion; "According to Hebrew and Greek writings, popular worship included ritual prostitution and other excesses." [Page 66].

(3) Blood was used for atonement in the Old Covenant and was not to be consumed. Animals were to be properly killed to remove the blood.

The heathen also drank blood in worship of their gods. A practice which Israel adopted (Psalm 16:4; Ezekiel 33:25; Leviticus 17:11-14).

Strangled animals i.e. animals which die of itself were given to the stranger or alien in the Old Covenant but now James is saying the Gentile should not partake of such an animal i.e. he should be like the Jew. (See Deuteronomy 14:21; Acts 15:29).

The Gentiles coming into the Church should not adopt the sacrifice of circumcision nor should they continue in their own sacrificial practices of fornication, offering and eating food offered to idols and drinking of blood. The fact that James referred all to Moses, being read in the synagogues on the Sabbath in every city, shows he was not rejecting the whole of the Law, as all things, the Gentiles should abstain from, are proscribed by the Law. (See Acts 15:20-21).

Do Christians Abstain From Things Strangled And Blood

"And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof and cover it with dust...ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh:..." (Leviticus 17:13-14).

It is this command that James is repeating in Acts 15. How many Christians today actually obey this command?

To this writer's knowledge, only Jewish and Moslem butchers take special care to see that animals are butchered in a manner to cause the blood to be drained properly. Other butchers use methods which technically result in the blood remaining in the animal and hence most Christians end up eating the blood in the flesh.

Rather than giving permission to abandon the Sabbath, the conference in Acts 15 has placed more responsibilities on Gentile Christians. These persons attitude is common, as many have not realized what is expected of them. The practice of blood transfusion may also be affected by this command. I urge all to repent of disobeying the commands in Acts 15:20, 29 and of placing the subject of the Sabbath in the passage when it clearly was not a part of the discussion.

Another problem with the question "When was the sabbath abolished?" is that is assumes that the Ten Commandments set aside a day of worship. On the contrary, the Ten Commandments and the Old Testament do not assign a day of worship. The sabbath commandment sets up a day of rest.

On it [the sabbath] you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or
daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant ...
Exodus 20:10 NIV

Six days you shall labour and do all your work,
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On
it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or
daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant ...
Deuteronomy 5:13-14 NIV

Both of the times the Old Testament lists the Ten Commandments, we see the phrase "you shall not do any work" in connection with the sabbath. The word "worship" does not appear. There is no command to worship on the sabbath, either as an individual or as a group.

  • Sabbath for Worship

In Exodus 16:29, before the building of the Tabernacle, the people were told to stay in their tents.

As the worship system was developed and the Tabernacle built, the Sabbath was declared to be a day of holy convocation (Leviticus23: 3; Exodus 29:42-43).

Convocation - MIQRA (HEB.) - something called out i.e. a public meeting (the act, the persons or the place).

N.B. in Exodus 29:42, the Tabernacle is called the Tabernacle of Congregation - MOED (HEB.) -an appointment, an assembly, technically the congregation; by extension, the place of meeting.

In Leviticus 23:2-3 the Sabbath is called a Feast of the Lord.

Feast - MOED (HEB.) - congregation, festive gathering; appointment. It is a common term for the worshipping assembly of God's people.

Hence, all events declared to be holy convocations are public meetings at an appointed time in an appointed place. The chief place was the Tabernacle of Congregation. The dwellings referred to in Leviticus 23:3 could not be speaking of individual homes but to wherever the children of Israel would dwell. N. B. they were still in the wilderness (Leviticus 27:34).

Dwellings - MOSHAU (HEB.) - a seat, figuratively a site, by extension an abode (the place or time); by implication population.

The context of the passage suggests that the word dwelling refers to the collective place of abode of the children of Israel for even the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost is to be "in all your dwellings throughout your generations. " (Leviticus 23:21). Surely this was one of the feasts which when in the promised land the people were to go up to the place appointed by God. It was also a holy convocation. (See Leviticus 23:14-21; Deuteronomy 16:9-11). This was a time of corporate worship even though it was a Sabbath and was to be "in all your dwellings." This is the way the Sabbath is to be viewed as well.

Contrary to what some say, assembling for worship on the seventh day was an instruction in the Law of.(See Acts 2:1-6)

Also the example of the Lord Jesus shows how the Sabbath was observed in His time.

    Luke 4:
"16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read."

From the above it is clear the Sabbath was to be A day of worship.

That is Yom HaBikkurim...the morning of the day after the Sabbath of unleavened...then counting the omer to Shavuot (Pentecost)...Yeshua fulfilled that, He was the first fruits from among the dead...
What is Yom Ha bikkurim? So now the day upon which firstfruits are celebrated or brought is no more a distinct feast unto itself?
The point is there is no distinct feast of firstfruits on Nisan 16. Nisan 16 is the second day of the feast of unleavened bread.
Feast of weeks, Pentecost (Weeks of the firsrfruit).
Ex 34:22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and
Feast Of tabernacles/booths etc.
the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.

The sheaf is an offering brought on the second day of of the feast of unleavened bread.
Le 23:37 These are the feasts (appointed times) of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his (day to) day:

Yes there is more than one Sabbath in the Bible. The 4th commandment has no mention of festivals , food or drink. Exodus 20:8-11. The scriptures you are referring to are the feasts days which has nothing to do with the weekly Sabbath. @LoveGodsWord has a great reference to the 7 feasts you are referring to and hopefully he can share those again if he has a moment.
Pentecost is seven full weeks after the Feast of Firstfruits:
No, the feast is unleavened bread, also called Passover.
Leviticus 23:15 “You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering.
Right, the Sabbath is a festival Sabbath which is the first day of unleavened bread. A feast of seven days.

Right, the Sabbath is festival Sabbath which is the first day of unleavened bread. A feast of seven days.
That's not how God defined His weekly Sabbath....

8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Like you stated there are more than one Sabbath in the Bible. There is the weekly Sabbath which is part of the Commandments of God written and spoken by our Savior and the Sabbath festivals. You are confusing the two and their significance.

It is how he defined his festival sabbaths. You are the one bringing feast days into this. I was merely pointing out an error due to any confusion it might cause

Which is also a time to bring an offering to the Lord.

How so?
These offerings are celebatory, some of which offerings, are to feast upon in common from the altar.
