Even better still next time your in church if you are in a bible class, etc. ask someone to explain this without using a cliched answer.

I was watching MTV (ack, can I admit that) with a few from my youth group the other day and there was a programme called "wannabees". These people would dress, dance and totally imitate their "heroes of music". They knew absolutely everything about them, some would even break into tears if they had the chance of meeting them.

It made me think.....

Dave:clap:

Dave in America there is a television program called Jeopardy. They have a panel of three that were allegedly pre selected for their knowledge in a variety of subjects. The contestants do not know the categories before the show begins. From time to time thet throw in a Bible category. That is when they ask embarrasingly simple questions that most any one could guess without ever having even seen a Bible. At least so you would think. But the blank looks they give and the silly answers they do come up with would be extremely funny if it were not so sad.

Seems they know everything about nothing and nothing about Everything!

In America - the most Christianized country on earth? From which most of the world's evangelists seem to be spawned from?  And panel members there cannot answer the most basic question about the Bible?  Hard to believe, honestly.

When we hunger and thirst for Him in reverence and awe we are rewarded with His presence and joy.  Nothing on this earth can fill us in this way.  When we have tasted the goodness of the Lord our hearts are changed and nothing else wll satisfy us but being with Him.  May this new forum be so directed.  That those that participate find themselves in love with Him in deeper and greater ways.

In Christ,

Maryanna Ps 9:10

I liked the Title of this Forum. But I wondered when I saw it, with whom do we seek a deeper fellowship? With one another? Or with God?

Well logically if we have a deeper fellowship with Christ, we will, ipso facto, have a closer and deeper fellowship with one another. For all of us who are born again, have this in common: It is in Him that we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28) Just as a baby who lives and moves and has its being inside the womb. It stands to reason that if we are in Him and He in us, and we have a deeper, richer, more full and meaningful fellowship with Him, then we cannot help but have a deeper fellowship with one another.

May God grant to us in these days a deeper Fellowship with Him and a deeper love for one another.

Getting back to the original post of this thread.

Yes Gerry,  and to verify, with scripture, your statement that we have both deeper fellowship with one another and God simultainously.

1 John chapter 1:3 reads, "We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and his son, Jesus Christ."

and vs.7 reads "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another".

We've been called and chosen as members into the same spiritual family. Brothers and sisters In Christ, having communion or fellowship (koinonia in the Greek) with both one another and with God.

Isn't it marvelous how it is all beautifully interconnected thru his son Jesus. Like the branches of a tree that all stem from the same vine.

Hallelujah. Glory to God!!!!!!!!!

You are so right Maryanna, and I agree with your prayer. BTW, I love your name.

Thanks friend, for your participation here and your words of encouragement and enlightenment. Thanks for posting the scriptures of verification. They could also be posted in the last thread I made about the statements I make. Always judge them in light of scripture. If they do not line up with the Word, they have no value.

The book of Titus chapter 2 exorts us to "teach what is in accord with sound doctrine". It goes on to give detailed instructions on how to do that "so that no one maligns the word of God". Using examples of daily living to support that which is written.

One truth I realized before being born again was that peoples actions really do speak louder than their words.

That's because God choose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. 1 Cor 1:27.

Psalm 150:1 ¶ Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
