Ask them if they even know what "judaizer" means...most use the term and have no idea what it actually means...
Judaizers today are a sect of Messianic Jews beholding to the law(s) of Moses who believed it is still necessary for non-Jewish Christians to adopt Jewish customs and traditions. Primarily that all males be circumcision to be saved, eat kosher food and observe/honor the Feasts of the Lord, and the Mosaic Law to the best of their ability (aka anti-Paul) ...
Galatians 5:1-3 (Complete Jewish Bible)
1 What the Messiah has freed us for is freedom! Therefore, stand firm, and don’t let yourselves be tied up again to a yoke of slavery.
2 Mark my words — I, Sha’ul, tell you that if you undergo b’rit-milah the Messiah will be of no advantage to you at all!
3 Again, I warn you: any man who undergoes b’rit-milah is obligated to observe the entire Torah!
(b’rit-milah is the Jewish word for circumcision)
Judaizer comes from the Greek word
"Ioudaizó" (Strong's 2450) , used once in the Greek New Testament (
Galatians 2:14) when Paul publicly challenges Peter for compelling gentile Christians to "judaize". This dispute first occurred at Antioch leading to the Jerusalem Council and is still debated today within Messianic Judaism. This dispute still continues today within Messianic Judaism.
For those that may not be aware the faith icon "Messianic" should be viewed as "pro-Paul" (
Galatians 3:28-29) as supported in this MJ forum by CF Moderators and Administration.
Acts 15:7-11
7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe.
8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.
9 He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.
10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?
11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.”
Even today within Messianic Judaism there are some that stick by the law of Moses as much as possible. From reading this extensive thread one could easily get the impression from some the OP's posts that Rabbinic Judaism is just as valid as Christianity when it comes to being saved. The only problem is that Rabbinic Judaism rejects Yeshua as Israel's Messiah, the Son of God who can forgive sin, and the perfect, spotless Lamb of Father GOD. Also, there hasn't been a Hebrew/Jewish Temple since 70 AD (
1 Corinthians 3:16).
