Hey @Jamdoc ; have you started learning Japanese yet? It sounds great.
I like languages too and actually looked at a Japanese phrase book a few years ago, but it looked complicated, and I had no real incentive to learn it.
い!
that is, yes, I've been doing duolingo for a few days, and am learning the hiragana character set, it's like the first of their 3 alphabet systems (Hiragana, Katakana, and then Romanji which is Roman letter systems that are the same alphabet we use, then they have Kanji which is a character system borrowed from China that's not an alphabetical system). I haven't learned a ton just yet, but it is fun and engaging.

That's a subject for another thread.
Start a thread in General Theology about this and we can discuss it more.

I doubt it would be fruitful, as most people here have been trained by the system to be dependent on allopathic medicine which is big business and haven't a clue or even interest in natural healing through what God has provided for us which is not the packaged food most live on.

It may sound not like normal advice but get involved with God!, there is nothing boring in 'things nobody saw or went up to hearts of man are the things prepared to those who love him', and there is nothing boring in the 'normal' things God does either.

That's your choice then; don't debate because it may not be worth it.

This year, all this isolation, what do people even really do? I've just gotten bored with everything. Before it's even said, I've already read through the bible this year cover to cover and am about 1/3 of the way through a second reading cover to cover, and .. I'm pretty bored of that too, it's still fresh enough in my mind that I'm not really getting anything new from most scripture, so it can be a struggle to read more than a handful of chapters a day and most days I don't feel like I've gained anything new out of it. Prayer.. I pray in the morning, I give thanks at each meal, I pray before I go to bed, I pray before I read the bible, and I pray when I actually have something that I want to say in specific like I encounter someone who needs something and I pray for them.. but sometimes I don't even know what to say, it's like trying to call someone multiple times a day you don't really have lengthy conversations, because nothing has really happened from the last time you talked to them.

But on top of that.. stuck at home, not a lot of resources to do much, I try playing video games, even ones I haven't really played much before.. bored. Try watching a TV show or movie on netflix.. and it's kind of a chore to even finish an episode, and a single 90-120 minute movie might take multiple sittings because I get bored partway through. Haven't done a lot of reading recently cause I figure if I'm reading something it should be the bible right, although I recently read Rnady Alcorn's "Heaven"
I've consumed probably thousands of hours of preaching, sermons, and other bible related content on youtube over the past year
and I'm just really bored of everything.
What are people doing when they're lockdowns and all that?
Listening to audio books, jigsaw puzzles, work, online board games with friends, reading books, rereading my superhero comic book collection (most of which I haven't touched in over 20 years) and Bible study.

And when I say Bible study, I mean Bible STUDY. I've been mulling over the same two chapters of Acts for nearly two months and I still have unanswered question.

If you are bored of reading the Bible, start studying instead. After over 30 years of studying, there is still things to learn and relearn.

If you read what l have linked you will see they did it through ketogenic diet which is low carb high fat. Most medical doctors do not know about this or will try to stop you because they are about medications not cures.

God does not desire for us to be sick from something that can be fixed. But if you don't believe the many people who have done it, then sadly no one can help you.
Keto/low carb is good for erm...hormones too. don’t think we realise how much diet affects our health, physically and mentally :)

It is a terrible state to be in. Boredom leads to inactivity which is idleness which leads to sin. Even this year one can be active for Christ. There are many ways. Delve into a personal study of Gods Word. Create a study group with friends, make sure you have at least one friend in the study group that can teach and has some learning in God's Word. You can still share Christs message in the world in many ways. If you are bored and not doing anything you can attribute that to something other than not being able to. This has been a fantastic year as far as I am concerned. I am refocused even more on what is important in life. I have a couple of study groups, some I lead some I participate in. Christians are waking up all around us, realizing Christ is their savior not their church. Not that the church is bad but many times we substitute the church and the works at the church for Christ just as we are prone do with anything else. Reacquaint yourself with the core teachings of Christ. I could make examples. One can never study things like the Apostles Creed and the very basic meaning of Christianity too many times. Idleness in past times has always been attributed to the playground of the enemy in the life of a Christian. I fear it is accurate.
