For 2 years I had head knowledge about Jesus what he did, I already knew about the Trinity, we being sinners, that he died on the cross, and that he is in heaven.
I know head knowledge does not save.
One night (August 9th) I just believed in it all fully with my heart and the Holy Spirit came to me. But what belief in what exactly got me saved?
Was it Jesus is Lord, and him dying for my sins and being alive in heaven? Or was the belief in the trinity involved along with other beliefs that got me saved?
Long story short I just believed in everything in the Bible
"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." (1 Sam 16:7)
"Then said Jehovah unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I watch over my word to perform it." (ASV Jeremiah 1:12)
"For my thoughts
are not your thoughts, neither
are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For
as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper
in the thing whereto I sent it." (Isa 55:8-11)
"So then faith
cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17)
“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:44)
"The Word is near thee, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is the Word of faith, which we preach; that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:8-10)
After their hearts were pricked and they asked Peter what must we do? "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)
Then there was the story of Saul (who became Paul--Acts 9) and Cornelius (Acts 10) who were different.
"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on His Name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:12-3)
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and
of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.(John 3:5-8)
"No one can come to the Father, but through me." (part of John 14:6)
