Hi,
Does anyone know if bible prophecy says that a third temple will be built and if so, will it be built by the "Antichrist" in End Times?

Or is this just a common fallacy?

Thank you for any info!

Appreciate it

No reason for a third temple as God has provided a glorious way for him to fill us personally.
Its either the new way through Jesus blood or the highway. I reckon Father God would be mightily displeased if we reverted to the old way of thinking and ignored the precious blood of Jesus.

That will not stop radicals from attempting such a pointless task.

Welcome! Your query is the best way to get initiated into this forum. Lots of different opinions. Just for clarity there are four views on this very subject. Futurist, Preterist, Historicist and Idealist. The one view that teaches the third temple is the Futurist with a heavy influence from Dispensationalism. That being said, I am a Preterist, actually a partial Preterist I believe in the second coming. This view does not interpret Zechariah's prophesy as unfulfilled rather it has already been fulfilled and speaking of the second and last temple. Blessings.

The third temple is found below, and I have seen some of the stones in this temple.

1Pe 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1Pe 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
1Pe 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1Pe 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

What is the purpose of the Temple in your system? Why does it need to be rebuilt?

The prophetic Scriptures clearly predict that the Third Temple will be built and the sacrifices reinstated, in the final years leading up to the Return of the Messiah. It is clear, too, that there will be more than just the Jewish people living in the Land of Greater Israel. All the Israelites from all 12 tribes of Israel, plus those grafted in, will migrate to New Israel soon after the Lord’s Day of vengeance and wrath, the terrible Day of fire and storms, that will clear and cleanse most of the Middle East.

The place of the new Temple, will be to the North of the existing Dome of the Rock, because this is in the direct line of the now sealed Eastern gate. The Bible, the Torah, and Josephus, all agree that the Temple was in that location. The Temple Institute, in Jerusalem, has made most of the utensils for the Temple worship, including the robes and breastplate for the High Priest. The instruments such as the silver trumpets are ready and musicians are trained for their use.

The Jewish sage, Moses Maimonides, known as Rambam, declared that the Temple will be rebuilt and the exiles from around the world gathered back into the Promised Land.

The Messiah will appear and re-establish the glory of King David.

In the Talmud Yerushalmi, Rabbi Acha says; The Beit Hamikdash [Holy Temple] will be built first, before the advent of the Kingdom of David.

The Pnei Moshe states; The Land will be settled first, then the people will become prosperous, after that they will build the Temple and finally, the Messiah will come.

In the Mar’eh Punim the Gaon Moshe Margolis wrote that when Jacob predicted the future of Judah, he foretold that the Temple would be rebuilt first, then the Messiah would come.

The whole scenario of the end times, has a logical sequence to it. Now in the latter days, we can see how things are happening that will see a confederation of Islamic states and entities that will be motivated to get rid of the ‘ cancer ‘ in their midst, that is the State of Israel. The moment of their attack, is the moment that God will intervene. This great Day of the Lord, will take the form of a natural event: a Coronal Mass Ejection, a massive sunstrike of cosmic particles, causing intense heat and electrical storms. The attacking armies will be destroyed by their own weaponry, as they all explode before firing. This literally fulfils the prayer in Psalm 83:13-18, Psalms 7:12-16

Many prophesies speak of the regeneration of the Land of Greater Israel, “in a very short while”, Isaiah 29:17, after this great clearance and cleansing of the entire area. Deuteronomy 32:34-43
Christian Israelites- “those who love the Lord and follow in His ways” will then gather “on the mountains of Samaria”. This is described in Ezekiel 20:34-38, Psalms 107

Over 40 prophesies describe how God’s holy people will live in peace and security in their own Land. At last, they will be as God originally intended, “a light to the nations”, they will “exemplify My Holiness for all to see”. Ezekiel 39:27-29 [The attack by Gog/ Magog will come during this period]

They will build the Third Temple, and “the splendor of this latter House will surpass that of the former”. Haggai 2:9
Zechariah 8:9-13 has wonderful promises of restoration and redemption; Courage! Do not lose heart!

Nothing about building a temple, but most eschatology scripture refers to a temple, even in Revelation 11 measuring out a temple's dimensions.
Since the temple is destroyed..
It's inferred there will be a 3rd temple.

No, no it doesn't. One scripture isn't enough to prove your system. The church, aka the Body of Christ, fulfills this idea. Eph. 2:21

What is the purpose of the Temple in your system? Why does it need to be rebuilt?

Thanks,

jm
It doesn't need to be rebuilt for us. It's useless to us.
However to unbelieving Jews, who do not believe that Jesus is the messiah, it is important to them, so they still want to build it.
Not only do they want to build it, but they have the materials, money, implements, they're training priests, breeding red heifers for the sacrifice, they have the plans drawn out, ... all they need is political power or permission to start building and they could have a temple within a year or two.
All our belief in the new testament and Jesus and temples built without hands are meaningless to them. They want a temple.
With most eschatology prophecy referring to a temple.. I'd say they're going to get their way someday.
It'd be blasphemy for them to do it and go back to animal sacrifices.. but that won't stop them.

If I'm not mistaken, the most common thing happening in the temple was animal sacrifice. In your view will sacrifices start up again if it's rebuilt? And is that good or bad?

To even build the temple they have to perform the sacrifice of a flawless red heifer, which they are attempting to produce. The sacrifice of course is an illustration that points to Jesus, but for the unbelieving Jews, they still think they need the ashes of the red heifer to be ritually pure.
After that they'd at least WANT to do sacrifices, today I watched
which had an interesting take that the antichrist would stop any animal sacrifices just before they actually start happening and declare the temple a house of prayer for all nations and have buddhists and hindus bring in their idols, etc.
But in general, sacrifices would have to start again for them to be stopped by the antichrist.
Always remember with any 3rd temple talk, we're not talking about Christians who see Jesus as having fulfilled sacrifices and our own bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit. We're talking about Christ rejecting Jews who still think they need a physical temple building and animal sacrifices to atone for sin.

Worship of God is the main purpose for any church, cathedral or temple.
However, God did require offerings and sacrifices in ancient times and it is clearly prophesied that He will do so again. Ezekiel 20:40-41, Isaiah 56:6-7, and proved by Daniel 9:27 and 2 Thess 2:4
I know this Bible truth is an anathema to most Christians, but who are we to question what God wants?

You start your post with
The prophetic Scriptures clearly predict that
Which is a lie. The prophetic scriptures do not clearly predict anything you say about the third temple. What you say about the third temple is your opinion based on your interpretation of the prophetic scriptures.

It's really becoming a real annoyance for me when people claim that the prophetic scriptures "clearly" teach what they interpret the prophetic scriptures to teach. If the prophetic scriptures "clearly predict" what you say they do regarding the third temple, then you won't have any Christians disagreeing with what you say - but as it is, you do have many Christians disagreeing with what you say because all you're doing is expressing your own interpretation of what the prophetic scriptures predict.

Isaiah 18:7.

Isaiah 17 is about the obliteration of Israel's neighbors. Once everybody is obliterated then Israel can build the 3rd temple. An important nation (America) brings a gift for the 3rd temple in Isaiah 18:7 in the spring following Isaiah 17.

Amos 1 tells us that Isaiah 17 happens in the 4th war. That's the next one. It's entirely possible that the Isaiah 17 war may happen in the next year or two.

Interpreting scripture for many, is like adding 2 + 2 and coming up with 5! They read out of it what they 'believe' to be the truth.

End times experts are like grains of sand on the beach. Too many to count!

You say this constantly in any eschatology related thread. Why even bother since you seem to not have any eschatological views?
Also. Regardless of our beliefs on the Third Temple, unbelieving Jews are preparing to make one.
It wouldn't even matter if there was no temple in end times prophecy scripture, unbelieving Jews are going to make one.

It just goes to show then, how many times people keep coming up with utter nonsense!

I have given my views before. I believe in partial preterism.

Jews may be stopped from making one by God, who knows?

Excellent point. I wonder how many prophecy 'experts' have looked into their crystal ball of interpretation and come up with that interpretation?

There is just one thing you left out of this post.
That is the blood sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ at Calvary.

There in only ONE correct interpretation of scripture which is found below.

He is the seed of he woman in Genesis 3:15.

He is the seed of Abraham through which all the nations of the earth would be blessed in Genesis 12:3.

He is the seed of David.

He is the Messiah of Daniel 9, who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34.

He is the seed of Abraham and David found in Matthew 1:1, and confirmed by Paul in Galatians 3:16.

He is the temple of God in John 2:19-21.

He is the one and final sacrifice for sin found in Hebrews 10:16-18.

In Luke 24:25-27 He revealed that the whole Old Testament is about Him.

He is the ONE who died on the cross for my sin.

Any interpretation that takes the focus off of Him is wrong.
