I don't believe scientific observation disputes the bible. Some scientists may come to conclusions from those observations that dispute the bible, but the observations don't.

If the observations of nature are unreliable, then Paul lied in Romans 1 and people who didn't have the bible do have an excuse.

China gave us some very harrowing videos of people dropping dead in the streets, hospitals, screaming and zombie-like movie action scenes, people bolted indoors - I don't think any countries outside of China presented that as the case - at all, anywhere. The media used those quite heavily however.

Seasonal flu kills about 20-60k Americans per year.

A pretty bad year would be about 50k, averaging ~140 per day throughout the year, with some heavier weight on the winter months.

Really? Italy was pretty bad when it hit there. That was the first non-asian country of note, so I was watching it closely. Virus's don't always 'play fair' with different communities and races b/c we all have different immune systems based on our heredity as well as cultural/economic conditions. Something that doesn't touch a Hawaiian might be very deadly to Eskimo. I figured the info out of Italy would be more reliable than the info out of China, and it was pretty scary at the time. But a large part of that in March/April for Italy was that the overall age of the citizens was older.

Ecquador, I remember in April was pretty horrible. Of course, they were pretty poor with low infrastructure to begin with.

Which elements of science are you talking about?

- the annihilation of smallpox through vaccination, saving countless lives and obliterating much misery?

- the development of sophisticated communication technologies that enable emergency services to react almost instantly, again saving life?

- medical technologies that enable 90% of children afflicted with leukemia to survive?

- the development of safe and effective anesthetics that allow people to have surgeries without suffering untold agonies?

- Einstein's theory of relativity which supports applications requiring very precise timing?

- laser surgery that spares the vision of thousands and thousands each year who suffer retinal detachment?

Are these examples of scientific achievement that Satan is behind? Boy, that Satan feller sure is making life miserable.

The areas of science that clearly speak of and against the creation given in the Bible.
Sciences stated creation they say is reality is 100% opposite/opposed to the creation described in the Bible, a simple fact.

So science lies to conceal Gods creation, why the only logical and Biblical answer as to why they would lie to deceive people of the world. Would be a satan guided deception. Since this has been occurring over several hundreds even thousand of years being that science came from pagan people.

Plus most of science is government ran and all kingdoms of the world (except Israel, God chosen nation) are part of satan's kingdoms, which he acquired at the fall, as satan offered the kingdoms of the world to The Messiah for worship.

He did a pretty amazing thing. He convinced me that both Science (16 billion year universe) and Genesis (6 day creation) were right and not irreconcilable. It's all a matter of perspective. He loved his Torah the same way you love your Bible. He loved the physics of the universe the same way, because he knew it was created by the same Creator. And he knew the language that both were written in.

It was beautiful. It made me appreciate them both more, and neither less. I hope it does the same for you or someone else.

The Bible speaks clear to ones who trust God, that His witness in The Bible is true.

There is at least one poster here who has characterized science as the tool of Satan. And there are no doubt millions of people who think likewise.

This morning, I watched video clips of people loading vaccines into trucks, of vaccine-laded airplanes taking off, and of the first New York Covid nurse getting her vaccine. I felt a chill of gratitude run through me as I watched each video.

Let there be no mistake. It is science (and arguably related things such as the sophisticated processes and technologies of logistics) that is on the verge of delivering humanity from this dreadful scourge. Without a vaccine, the virus would burn on, infecting about 70 % of the world's 7 billion people before dying out. With the vaccine, many, many lives will be saved.

Humanity has together achieved something remarkable: doctors and scientists have collaborated using leading edge technologies to design a vaccine based on an entirely new technology (messenger RNA) in less than a year. Comprehensive testing has been done, no doubt using advanced statistical methods to interpret the results. Incredibly complex supply chain problems have been solved by applying advanced principles of logistics. From the nobel-prize winning researcher on down to the minimum wage guy loading boxes of vaccines onto a truck, tens of thousands (a guess) human beings have worked together to realize one of humanity's greatest achievements ever. And soon, assuming all goes as we can reasonably expect it to go, we will be liberated from this blight.

To characterize all this as the work of Satan merits nothing but contempt.

That's an interesting stance to take. I wonder, do you not think God has been behind the scenes, active in His intervening at all? Do we have any idea the impact that prayer has had to perhaps mitigate the severity that this outbreak really could have been?

Do you think God had any impact upon the scientists working towards a vaccine in their success?

Even though things are bad right now, I don't think we pause enough to realize that without God, they probably would in actuality be a lot worse.

Of course! Science is a power-amplifier. The desire to do good, the desire to heal, the desire to understand, the desire to find Truth - these come from God. With that spirit inspiring a searching process of God's creation - all "miracles of science" are really miracles of God.

Of course, it works in the other direction too; without God's spirit directing a scientist, science still works. But we don't call nuclear, chemical, biological weapons and things like that "miracles of science", neither are they "miracles of God". That's all us baybee.

Excellent point, glad you brought this up. I forgot to add that I do indeed believe that God is at work through the science. In this respect, I would want to emphasize that I would reject the naive idea that God works by using "magic tricks", i.e. that he circumvents his creation to solve our problems. I instead believe that scripture teaches us that we are God's agents in the world and that God works primarily through us as such agents.

A drunk and a marine wander onto an obstacle course.

The drunk says: "this is the WORST walk in a park that I've ever seen!" trips over a log, falls in a mud puddle, and sits there PO'd, draining his bottle to try and make himself more comfortable.

The marine says: "This is perfect. This will train me to be exactly who I need to be for when the real work starts."
