Replacement theology came out of the covenant and new covenant movements. Because the Reformers saw the Pope/Papacy as the Antichrist - but because there was no Israel in their day, which so many of the prophecies about the Antichrist and Israel being at the same time - they had to justify their view by making the church Israel, and Christians - the Jews.
What is this replacement theology of which you speak? Who is replaced exactly? If you would read Romans 11 carefully, you would see that no one gets replaced. Israelite believers in Christ remain on the good olive tree that represents the kingdom of God and Gentile believers get grafted in as well. Anyone who does not "abide not still in unbelief" is grafted in and anyone who does not "standest by faith" and "continue in His goodness" is cut off. No one is replaced. Salvation is open to all people, both Jew and Gentile.

Replacement Theology title is a misrepresentation of what many of us believe. We believe in ‘Inclusion Theology’ and ‘Expansion Theology’. We see a continuity between God’s people in the Old and New Testament. We have joined faithful Israel (God's elect).

When Pretribbers try to speak on behalf of Amils they tend to misrepresent. We can speak ably for ourselves: we definitely do not need Dispies to twist what we believe.

Sovereigngrace- If you posted any other posts to me I didn't find or see it. But I saw this by you.
The following is my response to a post where you as a former pretribber supplied some pre-trib scriptures. It was not addressed to me.

Do you believe in the “caught up together” event in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17?
Well, when you first claim that none of the pretribber theology is Biblical.. without providing a for instance..

that indicates that you are starting off in an argumentative attitude.

In my own personal life of recent days I particularly most strongly preferred to not engage in more disagreement on a Christian discussion forum where one would hope to be met with a pleasant attitude.
That is why I specifically chose a thread that had an OP that I agreed with. I didn't post with the idea of offering it for disagreement with whoever came along.

You only assumed that I declined because the pretribber theology was weak.
You really need to consider why the person you choose to disagree with isn't interested in debating a Bible topic. There's no law that requires a poster to discuss more than they want to. It's error to assume why.

I will add concerning your quick and erroneous judgement of this pre-tribber, that you've only done numerous duckings around in any request or suggestion that I made to you.

Until this..

Does it say that Jesus comes to the earth while the following occurs? No. It states further down in the text that (we) "meet the Lord in the air".

Such a thing indicates that this occurrence is not, repeat, NOT the Second Coming.

This then is the classic proof text of the rapture.

The Greek version was written after, repeat, AFTER the Latin version., which uses the Latin word "rapturo" from which is derived the English word "rapture".

It's unreasonable to tell someone to just use Greek or English and not to use the Latin Bible to explain where the word rapture comes from. Such an attitude is a closed mind to all knowledge, and implying that everyone else should have the same closed mind as you.

That ends the text concerning the rapture of all the saints of the church age.

The text (provided by sovereigngrace) does not give the information as to when the rapture will happen.

The following is what happens after, I repeat, AFTER the rapture occurs.

In this verse is the same phrase ["the day of the Lord"] earlier spoken of in 1 Thes.2:2.

Who shall "the Day of the Lord" come as a thief in the night to? To the believers? No. To the unbelievers.

There is a scripture that is similar to this.. Revelation 3:7-13 The Word of the Lord to the Church Philedelphia. Verse 10 "Because you have kept the Word (message) of My perseverance.."

The apostle John calls himself a partaker (Rev.1:9)..

Rev.3:10, .."I also will keep you from the hour of testing (trial, trouble, tribulation)"..
The word 'trouble' connects with the Hebrew/Jewish phrase for "The Tribulation" which is "The Time of Jacob's Trouble" Jer.30:7.

Rev.3:10, .."which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell upon the earth."

The text does not say "it will come upon (you, church, when you are on the earth)", it says "it will come upon those who will dwell upon the earth".

For where are you when it happens? You have been caught up in the air to be with the Lord. And that is how you are kept from that tribulation. Because you have persevered, therefore what more perseverence do you need? None.

Why don't you need it? Because the rapture is a fulfillment of the Jewish Moed "Trumpets". It happens at the end of the Church Age. The other bookend to the Moed "Pentecost" which began the Church Age.

In Rev.3:1-6 Jesus addresses The Church Sardis.. "If you will not wake up.."

1 Thes.5:6 says "Let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.." The verse before that said "You are all sons of light and of the day and not of night or of darkness."

1 Thes.5:4 says "You are not of darkess that the day should overtake you like a thief."

Rev.3:3 "I will come like a thief and you will not know what hour I will come upon you."

What coming is Jesus talking about? Can we know what hour He comes? Is He talking about the rapture? No. He's talking about His Second Coming, Rev.19:11-15. When He comes all eyes will see Him (Rev.1:7), and His entourage of pre-trib raptured church of Philedelphia saints.

So, to those who He comes like a thief, they slept through the rapture. Because they were not alert concerning it. So they go through the Tribulation.

The following verses are speaking of those who're upon the earth during the Tribulation.

There is no escape to them because they have not Jesus Christ who provides the way of escape (1 Cor.10:13).

Lk.21:36 "So keep watch (stay awake) at all times and pray that you be accounted worthy to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man."

Now your following question previously posted to me ..

Really? You chose to go with that? Knowing what the title of the thread is?

In the above post from you, you provided the 1 Thes.4 text that teaches the rapture.

The book of Revelation is mostly about the 7 year Tribulation which begins in Chapter 6. In Chapter 19 is the Second Coming of Christ.

As I posted previously.. I don't see any 3rd coming in the scriptures.
Most amil are not pre-trib. Are you amil?

You agree with amil on the time of the Second Coming. That is the wrong Second Coming time frame. The Trumpets and Thunders are the final harvest. The separation of sheep and goats. The harvest of the wheat from the tares. The Lamb and God on the throne come to earth in the 6th Seal. They do not leave until the 7th Trumpet. They only leave if Satan gets 42 months. Now John claims Satan gets 42 months. That is the point of contention with all eschatology. Paul claims the 7th Trumpet because that is the end of the Second Coming. Paul is not told about the Seals, Trumpets, and Thunders. John is told to seal up the Thunders and we do not have that information yet.. The church may be gone, and only the Lamb will teach that information during the Trumpets in His earthly ministry. Theology is just private interpretation. It is not inspired of God.

There is only one Second Coming. The church on earth is going up to Paradise at that time. Where Paradise will be, we are not told either. It is not on earth. That will not happen until after Revelation 20, and the last 1000 years. Then it is called the New Jerusalem in the NHNE (New Heavens New Earth) it is not New Jersey (NJ).

Revelation 13:7

7 it was allowed to make war on God’s holy people and to defeat them; and it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.

God's holy people can only be the Lamb and 144k in Jerusalem. Amil equate this as the end of the 1000 years in Revelation 20. It cannot be. Here the Lamb and 144k leave Jerusalem for 42 months to return at the battle of Armageddon. In Revelation 20, fire comes out of heaven and consumes Satan and the Rebellion. No 42 months time frame at all.

Since God and the Lamb are on earth prior to the 42 months, the end of the 42 months is not the Second Coming. The 7th Trumpet is an 8 day event, Sunday to Sunday, like the week of the Cross. Messiah was cut off that week for the purpose of the Atonement. At the 7th Trumpet, once again the week and Covenant are cut off. Why? Too many lost souls left on earth. The church as keeper of the vineyard for the last 1990 years, after taking over for a failed House of Jacob, herself has failed. Satan is allowed access to the vineyard for 42 months. The only escape is by being beheaded. The church is gone. The sheep are gone transported by the angels at the point they are separated from the goats. The goats are gone, into Death. The wheat and tares are gone. Wheat transported by the angels, and the tares burned up. That is the final harvest. People are leaving, not staying. If there was a revival and many nations healed like Nineveh prior to being destroyed, they would leave with the church in the 6th Seal. That is the sign of Jonah. The church has to do the following for revival just like the house of Jacob before it was split into two kingdoms. They did not do this, and the church is about to not do this either, hence Satan's 42 months. 2 Chronicles 7:12-14

“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice.
13 If I shut up the sky, so that there is no rain; or if I order locusts to devour the land; or if I send an epidemic of sickness among my people;
14 then, if my people, who bear my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land."

If God sends an epidemic of sickness? That is the sign people are ignoring this year in 2020. A pandemic (of satan), an epidemic (of God), and Satan seems to be taking all the credit, and no one has noticed it is the first seal, of a conqueror going forth to conquer???

God's people are to pray and seek God. Not pine after loosing the carnal fleshly things of earth!!!

This is the time the church is the people of God, who can turn themselves from wickedness. A great falling away was prophesied. Now we need a time of personal revival. All those teachings and parables in the Gospels will be reality at the 6th Seal and the Lamb will resume His earthly ministry and carry out the final harvest. God's promise of healing and revival ends at the 6th Seal. That is the Second Coming, just like the Baptism of Jesus signaled the first coming. This time the Baptism is of fire. But unlike amil who claim Peter in 2 Peter 3, the fire is a trial not total destruction of reality. They ignore the Day with the Lord as a Lord's Day lasting 1000 years.

The day is celebrated by the 7th Trumpet, but put on hold because of an apostate church, who failed to humble themselves, pray, seek God's face, and turn from wickedness. They would rather defend their false theology. They will get mad, they are being accused of this. It was the Queen of Sheba that will rise in judgment against failure. It was not Solomon. Solomon was the failure that split the nation of Israel.

All modern theologies claim to be wise like Solomon, but will be the cause of a similar fate. The split of the week of the 7th Trumpet. Satan will be given 42 months, which leads to the false conclusion that the Second Coming is after the 42 months. No, the Second Coming ends with the 7th Trumpet. The battle of Armageddon stops at the end of the 7th Trumpet. It is the one hour, the last hour of Sunday from 5pm to 6pm where 10 kings join in the battle that kills off the last of Adam's flesh and blood. That is the message and point of Revelation 10-20.

The elect in Matthew 24:31 is talking about the Jews.

You need to check out the NT. The Greek word from which we get our word “elect” is eklektos. It is a participle of the verb eklegomai, which can be used as a noun (i.e. elect) or as an adjective that means “picked out” or “chosen.” Whatever way the theologians may try to water-down this word, it carries a strong meaning in the original Greek. Those who are chosen of God have been specially picked to fulfil a divine purpose.

Paul testifies as a Christian in Titus 1:1: “Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect [Gr. eklektos], and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness.”

The elect are God’s chosen people – regardless of birthday, nationality or social standing. Paul here portrays God’s elect as a people of “faith” and “truth.” God’s people possess saving faith. They live by faith. They are the household of faith. They are a believing community. They have been wonderfully changed by receiving God’s truth. They love Christ and have had their sins forgiven by the blood of Jesus. The redeemed of God are therefore the elect of God. God’s chosen people are Christians. Election is open to every ethnicity by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone. Those who reject Christ can never own the title of God’s elect.

1 Peter 1:1-2 succinctly defines the elect: Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered … Elect [Gr. eklektos] according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.”

Election is shown here to involve spiritual redemptive work. It embodies spiritual regeneration. The elect are the household of faith. They are all those who have put their trust in Jesus Christ. Those, alone, are the recipients of His electing power and have entered into an intimate relationship with God. They are His children. They are the sheep of His pasture. They are the apple of His eye. They have embraced the Messiah Christ and have had their sins forgiven by the blood of Jesus.

Paul the apostle admonishes Christians in Colossians 3:12: “Put on therefore, as the elect [Gr. eklektos] of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.”

Speaking to the Christian church at Colossae, Paul reminds them of the spiritual qualities that epitomize the elect of God.

Jesus tells us that He is coming for His chosen people when He returns. He is going to rescue them form this world before pouring out His wrath. He promises in Mark 13:24-27: “in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.”

This truth is repeated in Matthew 24:31. Christ is coming for His chosen people – the redeemed Church, not a nation that hates Him, as Dispensationalists false claim. He is coming for those who are ready and waiting. This truth is repeated throughout the New Testament.

God’s relationship with man has always involved certain standard elements throughout Scripture (both Old Testament and New Testament). There has always been:

1. The revelation of God (or the covenant maker).
2. His affirmation to man of a personal intimate relationship with Him (or the covenant contract).
3. The spiritual doorway into covenant relationship.
4. The fruit of covenant participation (or man’s covenant responsibility) – a holy lifestyle.

Amen. The difference between the amil method of interpreting scripture and the dispensationalist interpretation could not be greater. We interpret scripture with other clear scripture as you did here in this case by showing how scripture itself defines the elect (all believers, whether Jew or Gentile).

This is in stark contrast to dispensationalists who turn the elect into who they want them to be (all Jews, believers and unbelievers alike) because of doctrinal bias rather than accepting who scripture actually says they are.

The elect only refer to believers, both Jew and Gentile, and not to all Jews. You are not letting scripture interpret scripture for you.
You are meaning you are not.

Matthew 24:31 corresponds to Ezekiel 39:28.

If you see "the resurrection of the martyred great tribulation saints, also at the beginning of the millennium" as being the first resurrection then what about the resurrection that you think occurs before that when the rapture occurs? This is a major hole in your doctrine. You have "the first resurrection" occurring after a previous resurrection. How can that be?
First resurrection of the millennium. The rest of the dead are resurrected at the end of the millennium for the Great White Throne judgment.

The raputre/resurrection will have taken place before either of those.

It makes more sense to allow the New Testament, which illuminates the Old Testament, define the elect for us. Your Old Testament/Israel-centric method of interpreting scripture causes you to contradict the entire New Testament.

How can it be that only martyred trib saints would reign with Christ as priests of God and of Christ when in this passage John said that Jesus, "the prince of the kings of the earth", had already made him and his fellow believers "kings and priests unto God and his Father"? Doesn't this make it clear that all believers reign with Christ and are "priests of God and of Christ"?
The rapture/resurrected believers return with Jesus to reign and rule with him.

Where does it indicate that it's speaking only of the first resurrection of the millennium and not literally about the first resurrection?

Also, since you believe that only future martyred tribulation saints have part in the first resurrection does that mean you believe that those who you think are resurrected before that do not reign with Christ and are not "priests of God and of Christ"?

Also, Revelation 20:6 says that the second death has no power over those who have part in the first resurrection. Does this mean that you think the second death only doesn't have power over future marytred tribulation saints? If so, what about everyone else? How does everyone else avoid the second death?

Read Ezekiel 39:28 for once. Jesus Himself is speaking in the text having returned to earth, and having just judged the heathen at Armageddon in v17-20.

Read Ezekiel 39:28 for once.
Read the New Testament for once. Any of it. Please. And ask God for wisdom while reading it. It doesn't teach anything that you believe regarding end times doctrine.

29 “But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
Where does it say the sky changes at the battle of Armageddon? Where are the angels at the battle of Armageddon? This verse describes the 5th and 6th Seal. In the 6th and 7th vial, there are unclean spirits gathering the 10 wicked kingdoms to the battle of Armageddon.

12 The sixth one poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water dried up, in order to prepare the way for the kings from the east.
13 And I saw three unclean spirits that looked like frogs; they came from the mouth of the dragon, from the mouth of the beast and from the mouth of the false prophet.
14 They are miracle-working demonic spirits which go out to the kings of the whole inhabited world to assemble them for the War of the Great Day of Adonai-Tzva’ot.
15 (“Look! I am coming like a thief! How blessed are those who stay alert and keep their clothes clean, so that they won’t be walking naked and be publicly put to shame!”)
16 And they gathered the kings to the place which in Hebrew is called Har Megiddo.

17 The seventh one poured out his bowl on the air, and a loud voice came out of the Temple from the throne, saying, “It is done!”

Yes there is a warning about not being prepared. Only the foolish were not prepared at the 6th Seal. Now they will die!

It means that Jesus has power over death.
Of course He does, but I'm asking you about what Revelation 20:6 says. It says the second death has no power over those who have part in the first resurrection which you believe are only those who are martyred during a future tribulation period.

So, I'm asking you about everyone else who doesn't have part in the first resurrection. How do they avoid the second death and where does scripture speak of that?

Read the New Testament for once. Any of it. Please. And ask God for wisdom while reading it. It doesn't teach anything that you believe regarding end times doctrine.
You are just looking for something to say, since Matthew 24:31 is Ezekiel 39:28. And Ezekiel 39 provides the infallible timeline framework for the end times.
