Father François-Marie Dermine, promoter of an annual international course on exorcism in Rome, discusses his recent popular work about the devil, offering keys to discernment on this controversial and sensitive topic.

The “death” of the devil in people’s minds is accelerating the “death” of God in de-Christianized Western societies. For this reason, Dominican Father François-Marie Derminedecided 20 years ago to recatechize Catholic people through different initiatives.

A Canadian by birth, Father Dermine has been an exorcist for several Italian dioceses since 1994. In 2003, he contributed to the creation of the “Course on Exorcism and Prayer of Liberation,” a weeklong interdisciplinary workshop on exorcism. This annual event, held in Rome, gathers priests, women religious and lay experts from around the world to focus on Satanic activity and the formal ministry that the Church established to respond to such activity.

Hello. I have met many people in the workplace, even those who attend churches (of all types) who play around with things such as Ouija Boards, Tarot Cards and others. It's the way society is going.

I think churches (of all types) should urgently teach their members to keep away from such things.

God Bless :)

A satanic temple tried to set up house here in Detroit. After a couple of years, it fizzled out. Detroit is a lot more religious (Christian) than people realize.

Hello Chrystal. It's just my opinion but I think when evil is overt like that it can be too obvious to succeed. It's more dangerous when it's subtle. Enticing Christians into the occult is more subtle.

For example a few years ago I was in a Supermarket called 'ASDA' at Halloween, they were selling Ouija boards targeted at children, labeling it as a game. That would be more subtly effective I think than a Satanic temple.

God Bless You :)

It's all bad. A satanic temple recruits and get news time on TV--normalizing the devil. Ouija boards disguise themselves as harmless games.

Probably an understatement.
Voodoo and black magic are on the rise.
Churches are nearly empty and witchcraft is on an increase.
It’s horrible in the world
