The problem is she actually believes bartending is a physically demanding job.

In fairness, it CAN be exhausting work if you work in a busy bar. You’re in a controlled space but it’s loud and nonstop. In a club it can be nerve wracking.

When you stereotype all republicans like that it will only increase the divide

What does she want, peace or war?

This does nothing to bridge the gap, hence the reason as to why both sides have created the division in this country. Its not all Trump like the democrats want to believe, although he most certainly had a role in it
I basically agree with you but AOC making this remark isn't even close to the POTUS make a statement like that. If Biden had said it that would be comparative to Trump's statements. Still, it's no excuse for AOC's remarks.

There is no doubt that the Democrats, through negligent elitism, have allowed much of the working class to be lured away from their traditional loyalty by a phony who panders to their religious inclinations.

AoC was commenting on Republican Senators, and since you implied that she was directing her remarks at "us," it seemed a fair question.

In her first post, she was talking about all republicans.

No, its because Democrats hate us for being white.

AOC: republicans like to make fun of her for being a waitress
Republicans: she's stereotyping us! That's unfair.
Also some republicans: probably because she used to be a waitress.

I mean, don't work too hard to prove her point.

Also, her arguement is that she sees them sit around in leather chairs. Now, had the senate passed some bills that would help American people instead of large businesses and the rich, there would be a counter argument.

Was there a point that you were attempting to make?
I think it's that this member of Congress seems to be about as detached from reality as any we've seen in our lifetimes.

Just when you think she can't say something more ridiculous than her latest edict, she then goes on to do it. ;)

She's more attached that the side you seem to be a fan of, that wants to bring yet more Christian theocracy to America.

Y'all are going to be caught so off guard as it begins. It'll start as counties, towns and states declare themselves sanctuary zones for their pet issue dejour.

When people are laughing at you while you suffer the realities of war, remember you laughed at those sounding the warnings when it still could have been prevented.
There may be a civil war brewing but if there is its absurd to think there is anything that can stop it.
Fact is that trump supporters no longer abide by the rules of reality. They have succumbed to qanon and have shown that they will grasp onto anything that maintains their illusions.

It is not possible to reason with someone who believes an anonymous random person on the Internet before they believe what is in front of their eyes.
"Don't believe what your eyes are telling you" and all that.

Starting a civil war because more citizens voted for the other guy and you don't like that would be childish if it didn't lead to civil war and death.

Richard Burr lost his committee chairmanship after being the biggest of the five insider traders before the pandemic became public. He profited by millions, and excused himself because he wasn't rich like his colleagues.
Rick Scott's company was hit with the biggest Medicaid fraud settlement ever imposed. When he mandated drug tests for welfare recipients his wife's company got the contract.
Some people with humble beginnings work to provide opportunity to others. Others forget their roots and stockpile their gains.

"wants to bring yet more Christian theocracy to America"

It looks like you mistakenly thought you were posting in the "Conspiracy theories" forum or on the thread about Conspiracy theories that is currently running on another forum.

It's all funny because several Republicans and even the President himself have made statements that denigrated AOC's working class background and then when she claps-back, rightly or wrongly, conservatives suddenly get all offended. I've got a hardy laugh and two words in response to that. It is against the rules of this board to post them.

I'm curious if you know any waitresses that have worked in restaurants in busy cities?

Every service industry person I know works VERY hard at a thankless job where they are often mistreated. It's a shame you don't bear witness to that.

Wait what?
Do you mean that the Congress, that you (I'd argue rightfully) labelled as detached from reality, is ACTUALLY very hard working?

Because I disagree with that. I think the only thing she missed is including some democrat sentators in that bunch.

NOT A JOKE: AOC Says Republicans Never Had ‘Physically Difficult Working-Class Jobs’ | Sean Hannity

Since she was speaking about Republican Senators the thread title is intentionally misleading but what else is new.
