For the last 4+ years, the Democrats have gone scorched earth. You have salted the fields and now you want to grow crops.
The problem is 72+ million of us have memories longer than a hamster.
We remember the women’s march (lady body parts and all) the day after inauguration.
We remember the 4 years of attacks and impeachments
We remember “not our president” and the “Resistance…”
We remember Maxie Walters telling followers to harass us in restaurants.
We remember the Presidents spokesperson being kicked out a restaurant.
We remember hundreds of Trump supporters physically attacked.
We remember Trump supporters getting Doxed, and fired from jobs.
We remember riots, and looting
We remember “a comedian” holding up the President’s severed head
We remember a play in Central park paid with public funding, showing the killing of President Trump
We remember Robert de Niro yelling “F" Trump” at the Tony’s and getting a standing ovation.
We remember Nancy Pelosi tearing up the State of the Union Address.
We remember the total in the tank move on the mainstream media
We remember the non-stop and live fact checking on our President and his supporters.
We remember non-stop in your face lies and open cover-ups from the media.
We remember the President and his staff being spied on.
We remember five Senators shot on a ballfield.
We remember every so-called comedy show turn into nothing but Trump hate fest.
We remember 95% negative coverage in the news.
We remember the state governors asking and getting everything they ask for and then blaming Trump for their problems.
We remember a Trump top aid verbally assaulted in two DC restaurants.
We remember people banging on the Supreme Court doors.
We remember that we were called every name in the book for supporting President Trump.

How does he overcome that, while the vitriol is still there?

Well first he Biden is not the president.. its not over yet :) I fully understand what your asking. I could post things/links to video after video of the left being Dem's and the media lying about so many things that never get addressed. The hate even from Christians is shocking to me. So many lies so much has been done against this president that has never been done. No retractions what so ever. No sorry we were wrong. They are still saying RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA.

What I know is this is not over yet. This is not some 3rd world nation. At the start when that man was elected president they ALL went and prayed for hour. We have fallen for sure..but praise GOD our GOD is faithful. He is still on the throne and the enemy will not steal anything from God and what was stole shall be made known. That's whats happening. Great TIME to be alive praise GOD!

What does Biden have to do with any of the negative things mentioned in the OP? Do you believe, also, that every negative thing done that those who support Trump, must be accounted to trump as well?

We are we, as Christians, believing that a man is capable of healing the world? Isnt it not said that, If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto Me? When did the "I" become men?

Biden called for unity and healing right after he decided that he was the new President. Well, now is his time to show that he meant what he said.

Unfortunately, it was only days after he made that statement about national unity that he was exchanging it for the exact opposite policy.

Still, talk is cheap, as they say, and he could actually try to work for unity after he's sworn in. But none of us, no matter which party we favor, should hold our breath until we see him doing it, 'cause it's very unlikely that Joe intends to do more than talk big about something that sounds high-minded.

None of that involved Biden, so I’m not sure what you’re getting at.

Why hasn't Trump already healed it all already? He's been the sitting President for the past 3+ years and is still the sitting President right now, so what has he been doing all this time? Has he proven his detractors (and their fears concerning his Presidency) wrong, or has he willfully and intentionally made everything worse by treating over half the country as his sworn enemies?

The answer is as evident as the proverbial nose on our faces. From even before he was the candidate, the disappointed and embittered supporters of Hillary Clinton were vowing to do 'whatever it takes' to keep Trump out of the White House.

No matter what he tried to do cooperatively with different factions and the two different political parties, there was no letup in the viciousness that was directed at him.

Had the losing party in 2016 taken the defeat in stride as normally is done, unity could have been the outcome.

There is more salt and tears in this thread than in Pacific Ocean.

You are free to remember anything you want while conveniently forgetting all the dirt Trump did and every institution he undermined.

Nobody is expecting any different.

At least the losing candidate in 2016 followed the protocol and conceded her defeat instead of crying like a baby, throwing around dozens of lawsuits and denying reality.

And now Trump supporters talk about unity. Priceless.

As I was explaining, disappointment and bitterness--going back to before Trump was even elected and in position to make policy--led to the very unfortunate (for the country) decision on the part of the losing party to sabotage the new administration.

And so they did. Having done so, they now want to sell the idea that they were cooperative all along but it was that horrible old Donald who just didn't want to hear of it.

Talk about martyrdom complex.

Hillary lost because she was awful and Trump hadn’t been tested yet.

Trump lost because he was awful as well and Biden isn’t instantly offensive like Hillary was.

That’s all it took. Says something of what caliber of President Trump was.

Was he trying to "do cooperatively" when he said:
Trump claims millions voted illegally in presidential poll
US President-elect Donald Trump has asserted he won the popular vote on 8 November "if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally".

The Republican, who won the all-important electoral college count, offered no evidence to back his claim.
which, by the way, he said before he even took office? Because I'm not sure that sounds...very cooperative.
tulc(guesses win or lose, everyone who runs against President Trump always seems to have the "massive voter fraud" charge brought against them)

Both sides are responsible for the disunity. Claiming it's only one side responsible is lying. I consider myself moderate, but I've seen vitriol from both and a leader that continuously and gleefully stroked that. Biden probably won't be tweeting or retweeting threats or veiled threats towards others so there's a start in leadership towards unity.

Biden can not even play with a dog without breaking a foot/leg bone. He is fragile and will probably deteriorate right before the worlds eyes.

He needs to worry about healing himself and not the impossible task of healing an un-healable nation.

Great question-interesting responses. Biden will never heal the country, look at who he is surrounding himself with. Not to mention he won't last 4 years and we will have a KH Presidency. The names he is throwing out there are America hating socialist and will work towards destroying our sovereignty and placing the US under some sort of Global control, people like Klaus Schwab are eager for a Biden Presidency. I just listened to an interview with KH and she is a full blown communist. Justin Trudeau just came out and is just glowing about the opportunity to have a "great reset" now with Biden in power. Also it has been suggested that all Trump supporters be "rounded up" and put in re-education camps (this is documented look it up). Doesn't sound like healing to me.
Getting back to your original question. If indeed Biden is successful at securing his position as #46 we will have to forgive and move forward just as Christ forgave us, our time here is short.

Hi HL,

You asked:
How does he overcome that, while the vitriol is still there?

I don't think any of us expect the challenges of the next administration to be easy. Healing the division that has been wedged over the last four years will be a daunting task for anyone. It will take a determined and dedicated person to be at all successful. It may well take another 2 or 3 administrations to fix this problem of divisions over race, ethnicity, income and politics. And it won't even begin until someone takes up the reigns in leadership, working together with the governed, to set our foot on a different path.

We can be a part of it. If we choose to put away party politics, and focus strictly on embracing all Americans as equal brothers and sisters from a common ancestry. No matter color, race or ethnicity. I am neither a Republican or a Democrat or even aligned with the Independent political parties. I am merely a person who wants to see choices made that make things better for us. Take the Democrat tag off of your profile. Take the Republican or Independent tag off of your profile. Let's not any of us, On these boards who are a citizen of God's kingdom not join in that association of bickering political sides.

I also fully acknowledge that I'm not always, or likely even mostly, going to have decisions made in politics that perfectly fit what 'I' believe is best. But I'm trusting that it will be best for some group of Americans and that with the peace of God, I can accept and acknowledge that whatever it is...it's only temporary. This isn't my home.

God bless,
ted

Hi HL,

Maybe the answer for you is to shorten your memory and work on forgetting and forgiving.
You certainly have amassed a great, great number of hurts that you are hanging on to.

God bless you with a heart of forgiveness and a desire for healing.
