With the state of Catholicism with Francis, and bishops that seem not too motivated to clean house of abusers, I don’t know that anyone should be throwing stones much.

The East has much to be respected, including less deviation from the original.

Then maybe you should become Orthodox.

I have contemplated it. It just seems both sides have their good points, and both have some issues that seem very connected to pride.

Well Markie, you are not perfect either. But I’m admittedly losing patience with your only participation here being tearing down the faith and nothing else.

Fair enough Michie - I will try to just stay away.
I’m not asking you to stay away but it would be nice to hear you discuss the things you appreciate about the faith as well. Prayers for you.

Markie in scripture our forbearers were no better. Peter denied Christ, Thomas doubted him and Judas betrayed him. If we think the church is going to be perfect then we are going to be constantly disappointed. All our leaders have feet of clay.

stay around.

Let’s not start. You say you are Catholic. So who is heretical here?

I do not know what you are trying to say. It would appear you are questioning my faith and calling me a heretic. I hope I'm wrong.

I thought I was pretty clear. Who is heretical? Catholic or Orthodox? I posted an article of Pope Francis’s hopes. I posted nothing about any heretical faiths to foster a hostile response.

Why is pope Francis so interested in patching tings up with the greeks, when at the same time he's causing a rather horrific rift amongst his own adherents? To patch things up with Pat. Bartholomew seems rather pointless if he loses one fifth of his current communion. Unite us and when you do, go after the broader Christian unity, Francis. This pacamama adulterer has caused tremendous issues amongst catholics. To believe that he, out of all of our popes (past and present), could be able to cause any sort of unity is beyond preposterous imho. Mend your own house first!

the Eastern Orthodox churches are currently in schism from the one holy catholic and apostolic Church founded by our Lord outside of which there is no salvation

That is the position of the Catholic Church.
The position of the Orthodox Church is that the Catholic Church is in schism and heresy from the one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

Agreed. It would seem he's trying to unite the liberals for the global order.
