Perhaps if they addressed the fact that we live in a hypersexualized society, people would act a bit more responsibly

You see sex everywhere you go. On the radio you hear songs like Cardi B's "wap"

Netflix released the movie Cuties which showed 11 year old girls dancing in inappropriate ways. It seems the kids are being influenced from a young age and when they are teenagers they have no respect for their bodies

Tv commercials, the radio, hollywood films, yoga pants...sex is everywhere. Also, theres easily accessible inappropriate contentography

I see the culture as part of the problem. If boys and girls have a foundation thats built on sand instead of rock, and with all the negative influences in society...im not sure what else we should expect. We are broken humans to begin with and are being encouraged in the wrong direction

Well perhaps if sex and things pertaining to it were treated in a more normal manner instead of something to be ashamed of then Americans wouldn’t be so hyperfocused on it. Religion has made something natural into something bizarre and shameful . We saw this with how neurotic the Victorians were . Grown adults freaking out over legs This isn’t healthy. Wait ,they still do that in some places !

You know I noticed something your comments are designed to make someone angry lol. Your morals, your religion, there are 7 billion people on this planet, thousands or beliefs I do not believe your moral or religious beliefs are more important than anyone elses and you have a nice day
If we are Christians then we must believe that our faith is exclusive and that God's law is applicable. What is shocking is how many Christians take a pluralistic view of faith, law and morality and refuse to place God as supreme not only in their own lives but in the lives of their nation. It's no wonder America is in the state It's in. Christians are in retreat and immorality reigns supreme because we're afraid of offending the world.

So...that would be a "No I don't want to address the fact that men are as much a part of the abortion issue but the idea of controlling men's bodies is too hard, so instead we'll concentrate on controlling women's bodies and choices instead."?
tulc(is just making sure he understands these posts)

Other than controlling myself how am I going to control other men's bodies? Should I set up a Puritan Police state like something out "A Hand Maid's Tale?". If you want that fine, I will sign the petition for it, just as long as you are the one doing the hard work as far as lobbying and promoting it and generally selling it the public, especially to your Christian Democrat and atheist friends on the board. ;)

Sex education doesn’t force anyone to fornicate. That’s a personal choice. People who desire to remain chaste will do so. If you need a sanitized world to obey God. You aren’t really committed to Him.

Just looking from the outside in not knowing .. makes me wonder if this is just a way to get at men. Women can't abort so.. men must pay also.

Someone not of God comes to your door and you let them in.. bless you. You take all there sin also. "If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work." So many things of this world that are not of God and some believers welcome it and don't think twice.

"If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it." <--This is OT yet Gods word is true today. How many KNOW the truth yet do not do what is right.

The enemy/world and then theres the great I am.. Christ. There is no middle ground.

And by controlling women's bodies you mean "killing the fetus rather than carrying it to term". Yes I am generally against that because there is not a lot of reason for it. Their are some desperate well off professional people that will spend serious money on adoption etc. And that process could probably be improved with legislation that will make it easier and would ease the hardship of young mothers to give birth for adoption by receiving reasonable compensation for bringing their kid to term rather than simply terminating it to avoid problems with school, career etc.

They already do. the problem is after she has given birth she can still decided to keep it. Maybe it sounds cruel but if she agrees to adopt it out and the family spend money on her medical care she should forfeit any parental rights.

Probably the only thing that could be done is to make it easier for the adopting couple to sue and garnish wages etc. until they are fully compensated which could take decades...

Hi @Online.Gamer.79

What an odd piece of legislation. I wonder how many men actually get women pregnant beyond the age of 50? Don't think that would apply to most men. As far as forcing a vasectomy after a third child...who's going to be keeping the records. A lot of times, especially with teenage and early 20's women outside of marriage, the father doesn't come into the picture much anyway. So, who's going to be responsible for knowing that any particular man has already fathered 3 children, except of course in marriage. For the most part, pregnancies in a marriage aren't likely abortion prospects.

Just don't really see how the author of this bill is reconciling how it's going to have some effect on abortions.

God bless,
ted

Lol that bill even if passed will never hold up....

But it does show how so many liberals think, that they are not really liberal because they are not looking to free you or support your freedom but to do the opposite.

Me thinks you missed the point...

There is no purpose to contraception other than to pursue lust. Lust is one of the seven deadly sins (lust, greed, envy, pride, sloth, wrath, gluttony). All of them have to do with bodily or worldly desires and nothing to do with following Christ. Christ said if anyone wants to follow me, let him deny himself and take up his cross.
I have determined not to have sex with any woman that does not wish to be pregnant. I control my own body and I respect the wishes of my wife. If my wife does not want to be pregnant, we don’t have sex. No need for abortion or sterilization or contraception
It was a great evil when contraception was brought into the church. We are bearing the fruits of it now, broken families, broken society, broken church. I used to believe in contraception, but God had mercy on me and allowed me to repent. I am 57 years old and my daughter is 5 years old.
Christ said you cannot serve God and money aka greed. I also believe that you cannot serve God and lust. We need repentance and self control. Stop using contraception. If you don’t want children, don’t have sex

Mandatory vasectomy: Alabama lawmaker proposes abortion ban response

A proposed Alabama law would require that all men get a vasectomy after they turn 50 or after the birth of their third child, whichever comes first.

The bill's sponsor, Democratic state Rep. Rolanda Hollis, said the measure gives perspective to reproductive health laws, including the state's contested abortion ban.

“It always takes two to tango," she told AL.com. “We can’t put all the responsibility on women. Men need to be responsible also.”

Hollis said the proposal is meant to "neutralize" the Human Life Protection Act passed last summer, which would make performing an abortion a Class A felony, punishable by life or 10 to 99 years in prison. A federal judge blocked the ban in October, and a lawsuit is pending.

If passed by the Republican-controlled state government, the bill introduced last week would require men to pay for their vasectomy. The proposal has drawn criticism from outside the state, including from Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

"Yikes," Cruz tweeted Sunday. "A government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take everything … literally!"

While the abortion ban was under consideration, Democratic state Sen. Vivian Davis Figures proposed adding an amendment to make undergoing a vasectomy a felony, but the effort failed.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that forced sterilization is unconstitutional, but during the 20th century, the federal government funded coerced sterilization of people of color, disabled people and poor people in 32 states, PBS reported.

The difference between this male imposition and seeking to stop abortions by women is that there is another life involved with abortion.
