Hello friends
I’m having trouble staying connected and true with god it seems like that when I read the Bible it’s just words that I’m reading it doesn’t mean anything to me and I want it too I wanna understand the Bible. I want to stop sinning I HATE it so much I don’t really spread the word of god because I don’t know what to really say.
I feel like I’m just wasting my time reading the Bible where I don’t really understand any of it.
Sometimes it feels like I’m a lost cause and I’m afraid that I’m going to hell and I don’t want to I know Jesus died for us so that our sins will be forgiven.
Please help me.
Thank you

Life used to be very much like you describe at one stage in my life. And then Jesus showed me something. That He spoke through the word to all that dwelt in my heart. Unbelievable what happens when we let the Word of God define us in the divided heart we have become sinning.

Jesus first of all crowned love for God and neighbour king of my heart and placed my big I right at the end of the line of those saved within me. And so with my life in the right order i let The Word rebuild me. Honest it is terrible to fall into the hands of the living God a sinner but to come as His beloved child is the most awesome experience you could ever have.

This is how my relationship with Jesus works He is The Living Word in my heart and teaches me about all things. The word is never boring any more and all my enemies have been silenced. It is amazing how The Living Word goes to work in my heart. For Jesus unbares all my inner lies and exposes the devil hiding behind all, The wicked stealing my good life and enslaving, imprisoning, oppressing, exploiting and controlling me in my good life, and so harvesting me their misery. So good to see them punished and me set free to be myself.

Honest read the bible as a love address for you if you suffer the wicked, and as a judgement day book on all that steals your good life away with the lies they have implanted into you.

Once you meet the living word you never be the same again. Faith in God's love will always harvest us a desire to live by the word. For the holy Spirit longs to place us in His loving truth and can only do that when you literally walk into its Way spiritually.

Go in love for God and neighbour even today and call upon His name to be saved.

Isaiah 55:6-12
Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.

start with Romans; chapters 1-7 interpret the Old Testament Law of Moses, and 8-16 the New Testament Law of Grace through Faith. if you have a PC or Mac/iPad/iPhone, download the free E-Sword Bible application and install it; then download all the free translations, commentaries, and dictionaries from within the application - these will really help you understand what you're reading, and the commentaries often offer different perspectives of a given set of scriptures - it will take a while, but it will dramatically speed up your learning and understanding.

Jesus died for us, yes but if we do not repent it will not do us any good. Repenting is when we get on our knees and ask Him to forgive us of our sins with the promise of trying not to commit those same sins over and over. Have you been baptized? The single most important thing you can do in your lifetime as a Christian is be baptized. It is not a guarantee for heaven, but not doing it will surely keep you out of heaven. You are wise to be thinking about this and taking it seriously. Hell is not a game. Satan is not a myth or a joke, and you must repent every day for sins you commit. Brother, by all cost do everything humanly possible not to go to hell. You must try hard. Real hard. It has been said for every 30 who go to heaven- 30,000 fall into hell. Not great odds BUT the good news is heaven is possible! Only while you are alive. Once dead its too late. Everyone in hell right now is repenting day and night. They do not stop. It does them no good. Stop the profanity, stop watching t.v., stop watching movies, only listen to Christian music. Put it this way- ANYTHING that does not glorify God we should not be doing. THAT is how far we have strayed. ( I just found this out myself and it is freaking me out a little I must admit!)

I had a similair experience and in my frustrationand emptiness (simialr to what you expressed)...I felt God lead me to get more involved in the lives of others

the bible makes it clear that in order to feel God's present we need to be involved in the lives of others

which is hard because people have been conditioned to mind their own business
1 John 3:14

We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

I remeber how much this one affected me when I first read it, not sure if this is what God is wanting to tell you, but keep knocking, he will answer friend :)

I suggest that you get a copy of "The Normal Christian Life" by Watchman Nee. That will help you to get back on track.

Charles,
Have you heard this :

Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD. -Psalms 32:10

So, unless you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ or unless you trust in the steadfast love of the Lord, you will not be surrounded by His steadfast love.

How do you trust in the steadfast of the Lord ? Have you heard the lamentations in the Bible ?

What is lament ? Lament is an act of expressing grief. Are you not now expressing your grief ?
This is what we have heard:

19 Remember my affliction and my wanderings, the wormwood and the gall! 20 My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. 21 But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:

22 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."

25 The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. -Lamentations 3:19-25

Have not this person in the Bible lament his affliction, wanderings and bitterness? How does he or she find hope ? How does he or she find steadfast of the Lord ?

If you find that, that is your answer!
