As we read in John 17 this reference you made to God's Word, is His living Word, not the scriptures. Jesus IS the Word.

Jesus was Hearing via the Spirit what the Father gave Him to say. This is God's Word. Now He can use the scripture to speak but not always. Jesus very rarely quoted scripture.

John 17:17 [17], Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth.
I see, so to you we are not saved by God's written Word. So how do you know JESUS?

Really? I knew God was real by the age of three - I could see the Truth in creation, His fingerprints were all over it.

The Scriptures don't save anyone - Jesus the Word saves. Without the Spirit the scriptures are dead.

And yes His living Word i.e. Jesus Himself speaks via the Spirit - real living faith comes from His living Word which is Jesus. Faith comes from hearing that living Word and believing Him.

I see so you knew about God through the creation in the book of Romans. Isn't that contradicting what you just said? You said you knew about God at the age of three. Could you read by three? God's Spirit does not work outside the written Word of God it works through it *John 6:63. It sounds like your teaching "Spiritualism" (the Spirit without God's Word) which is not biblical. God's Spirit does not work outside his written Word it works through it as we believe what it says *Romans 10:17; Romans 14:23; John 3:16-21.

The issue at stake is - Is Jesus the Word of God?

By the way - two of my children came to faith by the age of three, and all 5 by about the age of 5.

They hadn't read much Bible but they certainly heard His Word through us.

Actually no you didn't but I can understand why so that is ok. You do not have to answer those questions if you do not want to just say so. Do you agree we are only saved by faith alone and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God? If there is no Word how can you have faith when according to the scriptures faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God? *Romans 10:17. The "Spirit" without the Word is not God's Spirit according to the scriptures *John 6:63.

Before the written Word of God was the spoken Word of God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God *Romans 10:17.

So you have to be literate to know Jesus? "Consequently faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ." Romans 10:17

There is nothing in either Testament that says that you must know how to read to know God.
