Yes, I have. I try to remember this, but of course when I read other things about it could be my own sin, my mind wanders I guess.

When your mind wanders know this:

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness". 1 John 1:9

We don't have to go chasing forgiveness for sin... He is faithful and just.

"Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them--do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish." Luke 13:1-5

The perishing Jesus spoke of was of course the second death.

It was common among the Jews to blame tragedy on sin... common among many Christians too. But Jesus says no, that's not the case at all.

As Jesus says, the sun shines and the rain falls on the just and unjust alike. We don't necessarily get special treatment here, sickness and tragedy can befall anyone, saved or not.

Pain has a tendency to effect in us empathy and compassion toward others, and our tribulations in this life work toward our being conformed to the image of Christ. Pain is just a transforming tribulation, like any other. It draws us close to Christ, gives us time to learn, and allows us to be loving, compassionate people toward others who may suffer.

And in a dying world, this ability is a real need. :)

I have suffered with fibromyalgia since 2010. My back is pretty messed up too..osteoarthritis, bulging and extruded discs. While my fibro is better and controlled, my back still has flares every once in awhile. I've been in mod to severe pain for 8 days now. It's in the lumbar spine area.

I'm jut sitting here thinking...is physical pain brought on from sin more than living in a fallen world? I do ask for forgiveness, and even ask for forgiveness of sins that I might not be aware of.
I am 47, going through premenopause, and physical/emotional pain. I try to stay positive, but in the last few weeks I've been kinda grouchy.

Physical pain can really take a toll on you mentally. If my back doesn't get better in another week, I guess I will request an xray to see if my discs are worse. Right now, I'm resting and im trying not to aggravate it anymore than I have

I was just wondering if it could be sin, or punishment.
Physical pain is part of the fall of Adam. When God said you will die, it meant that we would degenerate as we age and eventually die. The fact that you have increased pain doesn't mean you did something specific but rather this is the general result of the fall of man.

As for your back, if you haven't already you should probably see an orthopedic surgeon. If you have disc bulging and herniation I assume you've likely had injections and if you haven't sometimes those can be helpful. Surgery can be helpful as well.

Did you have an injury that caused the back pain?

Just part of life. A coworker of mine just lost a loved one three days ago, another a week ago. My ankles hurt from working 16 hours a day right now I don’t really wanna get out of bed because of that.

not sure what has brought on all of these things messing you with in life all I know is that you are still alive right now which is a great thing.

Jesus suffered... until death, it will be like that for everyone either pyschally or mentally its a part of this world, we are just passing through let’s try to make the best out it we can, keep praying and God bless.

Have you tried removing gluten and fluoride from your diet? I went through a horrible season of pain for a year. I came to find out I was reacting to gluten and fluoride. I was diagnosed with fibro, but I found out many people with celiacs/IBS/Leaky gut are also diagnosed with fibro, so it was a consequence of the celiacs. Once I removed those things the pain went away.

Inversion therapy is a device that allows you to lay on a table that 'inverts' itself so that you can hang upside down for a short period, allowing you some relief from the effects of gravity. You can also look at traction therapy. But the first thing I would do is go see a chiropractor (33-year practitioner myself), and let him or her tell you what's going on. Also, if there is any 'weight' issues, they must be addressed, as it only further complicates and advances your condition. God is not into punishing His children. That's why Jesus went to the cross. God bless you.

Yes...I did go to a surgeon about 3 years ago...and it was for my neck. I have bulging discs there that is causing stenosis. So both ends of my spine are bad. I will get surgery when I absolutely need it..until.then I just want to get through these flares. Surgery works for some..and some it doesn't.

No. I have degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis..in both my cervical and lumbar spine. I started having pain in my 20s. BUT...it only flares if I over use it, sit too much, or twist the wrong way. I haven't had a flare in over a year or so.

No, not those two. I have cut back on sugar. Now..I had lyme in the 90s. I was given 2 weeks of antibiotics..they now say you need alot more antibiotics. I have searched in depth over lyme symtoms...and I'm not sure if its fibro (even though I've been diagnosed with that) or late stage lyme. I've had multiple lyme test, they are negative..but from my research lyme is hard to detect and cure. I really don't want to be put on long term antibiotics, because they are really hard on the body. My fibro pain is alot better than it used to be! I just have to not over do it, and my pain stays around 1 to 2 on most days (on pain scale)

Thank you! I will try that. I do use a tens unit..it helps when your moving around because it confuses the pain signals..while it's zapping your nerves with a little juice lol. I do take muscle relaxers, and use a heating pad. Let me tell you, fibromyalgia pain is something else! But a back flare up for me is worse right now.
