“This is real love—not that we loved God,
but that he loved us and sent his Son
as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”
1 John 4:10
If Jesus Christ is God and died for me,
then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make to him.
[C.T. Studd]
Amen. It is only through God, flooding His love into our hearts, that we can even begin to love God. Otherwise we would abhor Him and have a repugnance for Him. Left to our own "uninterrupted" selves, we'd be as pigs, spiritually, preferring the muck and the filth of our mire and muuuuud, laying all in it, and preferring to be oblivious to our coming demise. It is because of our "hearts of stone". It is GOD only Who can pierce through that stone and transform that deadly, death-wish thing into a "heart of flesh", capable of love at all, as it is written.
Thank GOD for His "holy interruptions" into our lives and hearts.
May He continue transformation after transformation, in this darkening world, where good is called evil, and light is called darkness, and truth is called lies, and where, as George Orwell wrote that speaking the truth will be considered "revolutionary" and "shocking", and "hated".
May we always be so sold out to our God that we always speak the truth. There's a framed quote on my wall that says:
"Speak the truth even if your voice shakes."
And i say "amen".
A blessed day to you on this cold and cloudy and rain-in-the-forecast Sunday morning on this 22nd day of November, 2020.
