The way the Twitter works (like most social media) is that you can post a picture or video that is any age but with a caption that you create on the day you post the video or picture. The mayor of Atlanta is indeed a great tech wizard, but that is the explanation behind this particular case of tech wizardry.

Yeah, because people apparently lack an ounce of critical thinking and she had to clarify what date the video was taken.

What makes more sense, a candidate who has been very consistent with is messaging on mask wearing and social distancing and any time is seen in public is wearing a mask and socially distancing appropriately suddenly decides to attend a crowded event where not only NOBODY wears a mask nor socially distances but there's plenty of people recording the event on cell phones so there's nothing keeping them from posting this hypocrisy on the internet.

Guys, I can see both sides of this. Bottoms' had every right to post a vid from last year, though she probably should have specced that it was a year old, and it was not unreasonable for some to assume it was from this year, especially considering similar real lockdown hypocrisy of other Dems such as Andrew Cuomo, Chris Cuomo, Pelosi, Pritkin(sp), Newsome, Whitmer, and so on. In this case it appears the original allegation here was wrong. Let's cut each other some slack, on this one anyway.

Well he's not worried about it in that video because the video is pre-Covid. But you're right that he's got gov't healthcare and is denying it to the rest of us. Which is why he's a conservative, even though people don't want to believe that.

Honestly no. I'm not cutting people slack. I'm utterly exhausted with this complete lack of even a modicum of critical thinking in order to attack their opponents.

Democrats should have known in 2019 not to party or wish someone a happy birthday without a mask. They were working with Bill Gates and China and Dolly Parton and Donald Trump via operation warpspeed to create covid in a lab and then inject people with microchips( Seriously, why is no one asking WHY Trump is all gung ho about injecting us all with vaccines with microchips for 5G??????? All they can do is gesture at imagined hypocrisy on the other side. They don’t have actual facts to defend their degeneracy, so they have to redirect attention elsewhere. It’s effective on... certain groups with a very loose relationship with reality.

She probably figured, like every other rational person in the country, that people would see this as being from the past since every rational person knows that there's nothing going on right now with Covid.

My friends and I post memories all year now because there's nothing new. When I see pictures of people on vacation or in big crowds at sporting events or concerts I automatically assume it's a pre-Covid memory. It's more the other way around, where if something is current you would have to specify.

I think we have a good learning moment here in this thread about not just trusting your base instincts and maybe looking a little bit into something before sharing it online. I see this kind of thing happen on Facebook a lot where someone shares some story that’s been making its rounds that makes (insert political foe here) look bad in some way but upon further inspection isn’t actually what they’re claiming or the context changes the story completely. It happens to the best of us sometimes but the trick is to learn some discernment and to maybe hold off on posting something that just fits the narrative perfectly until you know for certain that it’s true.

It’s a discipline that needs to be taught more effectively in schools. Then again, being able to manipulate the public with nothing but a sensational headline is an asset to the same entities in charge of public education...
