I am having problems finding a church. I cannot find a church that I agree with on doctrine. I believe in some doctrines that aren’t very traditional such as polygamy, sabbath keeping, baptism in Jesus name, predestination, deification, etc.

So what does a person do if they cannot find a church that matches their beliefs?

I am not sure you will find a church that meets all of your current beliefs. Although, I would encourage you to study those beliefs that are a bit unorthodox and see if they hold up to the teachings of the Church. Some denominations will meet some of those beliefs, maybe 7th Day Baptists, or some oneness 7th Day Pentecostals, but finding a church that meets them all will be difficult or impossible.

Note, "Jesus name" only baptisms are not Trinitarian, do you believe in the Trinity?

I have researched doctrine thoroughly and I am very convinced of my beliefs.

I do believe in the Trinity but I also believe that Jesus is God and that the early church baptized in his name. If you read the book of Acts you will find that when they baptized it was in the name of Jesus Christ.

You could also , come out from among them, and be ye separate.

I did this for awhile when the coronavirus first hit but it gets pretty lonely being a solitary Christian. I finally returned to church as I decided that it was not good to not attend.

Then you honestly are going to have to keep some of your unorthodox beliefs to yourself and understand that there really is not a church that agrees with all of the things you stated. You can certainly find one that agrees with some of the main points, but not all of those that you mentioned.

I would explore Seventh Day Adventists, 7th Day Baptist, and 7th Day Pentecostals.

Traditionally, Protestants start their own congregations in these situations.

When I was a little younger the idea did cross my mind many times but that is not something I am willing to do at this point. If I did meet some like minded people who were willing to run the fellowship that would be fine. But it is doubtful that I am going to meet anyone who is like minded.

I agree....It is much easier to walk wide paths, where therein are multitudes of similar minded people..........than to travel a narrow path alone.

Continue to seek what you desire, and you shall find it.

OK but I am not finding anyone in my area that even comes close.

SDA believe in Annihilation, soul sleep, and the investigative judgement. They have some strange doctrine in my opinion. I have tried their church a few times and it is not a good fit for me. Plus some of the other beliefs I mentioned like polygamy are not a part of their doctrine.

There are no 7th Day Baptists in my area and I don’t know of any 7th Day Pentecostals either.

But the sabbath is just one issue with me there are other issues I am concerned with like I mentioned.

I have tried attending a church and keeping my beliefs to myself but that can be rather isolating.

As someone who is interested in practicing polygamy it would be nice to find other Christian polygamists.

But I’ve been seeking this for years and have not found any likeminded people.

That should tell you something that perhaps maybe you might not be quite the researcher you believe yourself to be. The fact that 500 years of Protestant history, and not a single Protestant denomination formed around the beliefs you hold is a sign that perhaps you add a new denomination to the mix, and let fall the chips in the marketplace of ideas/denominations.

Honestly not. I am a very thorough researcher and student of doctrine. I have studied the Bible and Church history my entire life. The majority is not always right. Jesus said that the road that leads to eternal life is narrow and very few find it. So true Christians are extremely rare.

80 million people voted for Joe Biden so that just goes to show that there are a lot of very foolish individuals in this world.

Join the Unitarian Universalist Assn. (which does, however, have a statement of principles, if not doctrines as we usually understand them).

The idea is to find a religious association that is broadly accepting of the individual's own theology.

The "rub" however, is that such associations don't do much of anything in the "worship" department, if that matters to you.

Traditionally, Christ Himself is the Narrow Path. Christ called Himself many things allegorically. A Door. A Shepherd. A Rock. A Foundation. Etc.

But, perhaps one of the doctrines of your denomination could be that yours is the narrow path. You could call yourselves "The Narrow Way Church" or something, start a website, and put all your core beliefs on it. Advertise it locally and see if you get any bites.

I'm glad I found someone of your caliber of expertise. Could you tell when the Church gathered the New Testament books into a single canon?

No way, they are not Christians. I am a conservative Bible believing Christian. They are very liberal.

Here is a quote about them from Wikipedia:

“The beliefs of individual Unitarian Universalists range widely, including atheism, agnosticism, pantheism, panentheism, pandeism, deism, humanism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam,[8] Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Taoism, syncretism, Omnism, Neopaganism and the teachings of the Baháʼí Faith.”

That is unacceptable to me. That is false religion and not the narrow road Jesus talks about.

Why would you suggest such a thing on a Christian forum?

I am well aware that Christ is the narrow road. Believing in him correctly is how we follow that path.

I’m not interested in starting my own church. I am not interested in being a Pastor.
