Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

Almost as if a rampant virus spreading causes sane people to not go out and spend all their money on stuff they don't need, or risk going out to buy something when it risks catching a deadly disease.

today the us should hit 80k people in hospitals due to covid 19, 173k cases yesterday and worst day since may in deaths. But save the economy don't shut down.

When all is said and done how we handled this crisis will probably be seen as one of the worst public policy blunders in American history. I can’t think of any other event that even comes close to how disastrous our response has been to the pandemic. An ongoing American tragedy of truly epic proportions and it’s not over yet. It makes me ashamed to call myself an American.

You should probably check out the upcoming deaths estimated around the world due to the poverty the shutdowns will cause. They dwarf anything Covid-related. Shutting down is costing more lives then it will ever save, not to mention the livelihoods and security of untold millions on top of that.

Is this serious or just the ravings of a drama queen? I really can't tell.

Just putting my own thoughts out there. You’re welcome to be a cheerleader for our failure if you think we’ve done a good job with this crisis.

[citation needed]

I should note that I have not seen a single person support these kinds of claims to date.

And research into the effects of historical recessions actually point to mortality rates decreasing in such times, not increasing. Boom economies ironically lead to more death.

How can anyone make a serious estimate of the upcoming deaths estimated around the world due to the poverty the shutdowns will cause? It's obvious that you don't know the first thing about scientific data. There must be an actual cause and effect, not some estimate.

How do you know that poverty(?) causes peoples' deaths? Where are the valid statistics?

The whole purpose of "shutting down" (as you call it) is to save as many lives as possible by reducing person-to-person contacts. When people ignore the laws of science and the laws of government or, in your case, promote ignoring the laws of science and the laws of government, we can expect many, many more lives will be lost to this virus.

Important to note that the virus, and its effects on consumer buying, has exacerbated an already looming problem for retailers who haven't established an online market.

“Retailers that have not developed strong access to online commerce may suffer significantly as we close out 2020,” said Jay Indyke, chair of law firm Cooley LLP’s bankruptcy and restructuring group.

Don’t be so open minded that your brains fall out.

You're against being open-minded? BTW, I have only one brain and it is safely ensconced in my skull. The more I load it up with accurate information the safer I am.

Why not give it a try?

Do you have any actual numbers to back this up?

hey genius, I just showed that your fearmongering over the shutdowns STILL HAPPENED, you just cost more lives. The point you guys fail to comprehend is that just because you demand the economy stay open doesn't mean it actually will be. 2000 people dying a day and in many places no room in hospitals is going to have a far more chilling and long lasting effect on the economy over a strong short term shutdown with bailouts for businesses and people in trouble. Instead of supporting people and businesses you forced them to remain open when they couldn't afford to and were not getting the business they needed to remain open. Your own idiocy with the economy has killed it. Congrats.

I load my brains up with the wisdom of God.

Sorry but judging by your posts you are most definitely loading your brains(?) up with the wisdom of God. Don't flatter yourself! God never said anything as worthless as "Don’t be so open minded that your brains fall out" and similar non-Biblical cutesy garbage.
