One weakness that won't save Georgia and other places, is that last time what helped keep them from collapsing was that they could get doctors and nurses and supplies from states that were not hurt, that happened especially in texas last time, this time though every state is being hit, so can't just give more from elsewhere.
but if barely over a quarter of the vents particularly are in use why would we NEED more?

Because colder weather will finally drive Georgians indoors.

One helpful thing though: Georgia learned during the summer surge in the Southern states. (when hot weather forced people indoors, and the virus spreads far faster indoors, including in Georgia)

North and South Dakota are hit very hard because the cold weather arrived in their states first (as normal in the fall; long before the Southern states), and they hadn't yet learned that first-hand lesson of local deaths. So a lot of people went indoors and didn't wear masks.

They are hit really hard.

But that cold weather will arrive in the South too...

Will Georgians mostly all wear masks during this month and the next few you think?.....

Note a very key difference from 1918 -- this virus spreads easily from people before they show any kind of symptoms at all (and some don't ever get symptoms even while they spread it to others) -- meaning that just waiting for symptoms and then quarantining that way as the main strategy would not work, and you'd get 1 million+ deaths if that's was the only primary strategy.

Yeah, but one of the best things about that projected body count? Human beings are not an endangered species.

In fact, if you talk to any of the eco-nuts, they'll tell you flat out that there are too many humans on this rock as it it is right now, and a lot of them will tell you that humans are a plague, decimating all other aspects of the habitat, and they should be vastly reduced in number. Didn't you see the re-make of The Day the Earth Stood Still? ;)

I rarely go out mom and sister do the shopping as I cannot drive due to various aspects of my disability, but mom said that it is pretty decent lots wear masks quite a few do not. The times I do go out church and until next week my weekly after school program I do not wear a mask. I will if it is REQUIRED, but between what I assume is my CP making me not being able to STAND a mask on for more than five or ten minutes ( though I will if I HAVE to, but it takes a LOT of self control for me not to pull the mask off. Additionally, however the masks tend to have trouble staying on ( I have had various ones and when they come off or slide around my face I cannot put them back on. ( mom or someone has to do it for me ( which of course means touching my face which in turn means that it kind of defeats the purpose of wearing one anyway.

These temporary bodies are all to die, regardless, yet...

Christ still said to help others -- help them physically -- as we can.

Even a direct commandment for us --

... 30Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead.
... But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.
34 He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ 36 Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” 37He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”
Luke 10 ESV

So, even though all these bodies will pass away (and we get new ones later), still, we are to help others here and now, physically. That includes giving key information sometimes, like about mask wearing.

The virus rarely is spread by touch we have learned. Almost always through the air. Touching your mask and then your face isn't the big danger. The big danger is from not wearing a mask in public.

We believers (that truly believe and repent) don't have to fear death. But still, you don't want to die this way I think. Listen to Trump's advisor Governor Christie:

you do know ventilators aren't as important now, and the biggest thing states lack is manpower. During the july peak, hospitals had plenty of beds, they were lacking in the manpower to take care of people.

I'm in sort of the same boat. I will drive Momma to the stores, but she has to go in and do the shopping; with my PTSD, those masks just about send me over the edge, and I have enough trouble keeping myself on an even keel as it is. More than 90 seconds with one of those things, and I literally feel like I'm suffocating....then I start hyperventilating, and then I end up ripping it off my face before I get ugly and hard to control.

yup we will all die at some point so why worry about how?

I have almost died so many times, it doesn't have much worry for me any more. I came close to having my ticket punched as a kid when a piece of farm machinery tipped over on me. Some years later, I was helping my Dad and some others cut down this massive tree; they just about had it cut through when a gust of wind came along and tipped it the wrong way---it came down on me, although I was running away from it, and got nothing more than scrapes from branches. But if I had been facing the other way and hadn't seen it, it would have driven me into the ground like a tent peg. In the military....shot at; exposed to explosive detonations; head injuries; pieces of junk lodged in my body (some of which are still there); in my post-military career, shot at several more times; automobile accidents galore.....yeah, I'd say I have probably been nearly killed at least six or seven times in my life. It loses the novelty after a while.

Keep in mind that it's known that it's about 4 weeks between someone being infected with Covid19 and dying of it. For those that are in more danger, and might die.

So the death rate lags the infections by about 4 weeks, and that means roughly 3 weeks lag on graphs, since Covid detections are often about a week after exposure.

Covid-19 pandemic: Tracking the global coronavirus outbreak

So the gigantic upward trend means health care workers are in risk of being overwhelmed. They might end up needing in many places a lot of helpers and also triage. But this time there won't be many states in the U.S. really that have hospital medical staff to spare. Other sources of medical workers will be needed in many places.

Except I don’t believe their statistics, since many doctors and nurses have exposed the fact that the numbers of COVID deaths were deliberately exaggerated, by claiming other causes of death were due to COVID19, and given their statements that many hospitals were actually laying off staff during the pandemic, because elective procedures were stopped, even things like hip replacements, and people stopped going to their doctors and even the ER.

Trump sent a hospital ship to NY, and it sat there empty of patients.

Secondly, 99% of those who get it survive, and 80% that get it only have very mild symptoms.

The worst thing is that due to greed and political influence, a cheap, very effective treatment for COVID19,is being blocked from use;as attested by a lot of ER doctors who actually treated COVID patients, and who took it themselves to keep from being infected, is hydroxychloroquine with zinc.

There’s a group of ER doctors trying to get the truth out there, but are being censored and censured, callEd America’s Front Line Doctors, and video of their news conference that went viral before being blocked, is at their website: AFLDS.com.

I believe it’s they who’ve estimated that 100,000 Americans died because it’s use was prevented.

Yeah.....I mean it's not like there is around 40+% of the country that have a really huge belief in their 'god' telling them that you shouldn't wear masks and what not. My wearing a mask only marginally protects me from you, if your not wearing one It's useless.

Do you not remember the CDC saying at first NOT to wear masks?

Same advice they’ve given for every viral pandemic in history.

The change in advice is not due to valid medical reasons.

The virus is 200 times smaller than the holes in the masks the public is using.

I think its a lot of fear mongering and b.s. not that its not real but its not as bad as they are making it. I live in a big city and I would think Id be seeing funeral processions and stuff and theres none! We have a huge homeless camp with tons of tents and they are thriving. Like wouldn't they be the first to go with lack of sanitation? Im just not seeing it. I had kidney stones and they said our hospitals were overflowing so I put it off as long as I could and finally I had to go and it was 8pm on a Friday night in downtown Phoenix and the ER was like a ghost town! I was shocked! I got in and out in 2 hours! My lift driver told me his wife and her mom went for testing and filled out the papers but the line was so long they decided to leave and they got a call 3 days later saying they BOTH tested positive for Covid-19!! They weren't tested!

My afterschool program is for people 4+ and that can be 10 or more times plus with various developmental disabilities. They encourage us ( the campers) also a summer camp in season) and require the staff/volunteers to wear a mask, but they know good luck trying to mandate masks on some of those campers they would spend the whole time on mask patrol.

Well, if nothing else, the uptick in cases proves beyond all shadow of a doubt that the "wearing of masks will prevent the spread!" mantra is a crock of baloney.
This is the exact kind of ignorant, head-in-the-sand nonsense that aggravates the pandemic.

What I find to be more ignorant and head-in-the-sand is the belief that this virus is so much more deadly and dangerous than any other virus that's come down the pike in the last hundred years. Plain old flu is a lot more dangerous than Covid (which has a 98% recovery rate), but everybody seems to be in a blind panic over it (I blame the State Organs of Propaganda for most of it) and they all want to hide from it in coal mines for, oh, "I would say approximately 800 years", to quote Dr. Strangelove. :)

But that's okay. You have my full permission to think just as badly of me as you please. :) If you believe I'm a complete slobbering moron, that's fine---you have yourself a ball. ;)

And you really need to learn what your talking about virus is small SPIT isn't which is where the virus is carried. Stop talking nonsense if you want to be taken seriously and stop using months old lies.

VS the head in the sand pretending that there isn't 4X's as many people dying this year from covid in the US then the worst flu from a few years ago. You guys are the ones denying reality, rather pretend it's all okay then actually care about lives. So easy to whine about abortion and such but when it's your turn to save lives, suddenly you don't care.

Thanks for agreeing with what I said. Playing with straw-men and red-herring doesn't make your position look any better.

Slobbering moron? Well, you seem to be a smarter guy than your arguments indicate.
