The microwave weapons heat water molecules in the same way as the kitchen appliance, targeting water under the skin and causing increasing amounts of pain to the target from ranges of up to 0.6 miles away.

Jin hailed the Chinese forces for 'beautifully' executing the move which cleared out Indian troops without violating a ban on gunfire along the disputed border.

It is the first known use of microwave weapons on a battlefield.

It should be.

I believe that using laser weapons to blind was added to the list of prohibited weapons (under the Geneva convention?) a couple decades ago. I'm not sure if sonic weapons are on the list.

The US has it: Active Denial System - Wikipedia

NYTimes said:
Developed by the military as a crowd dispersal tool two decades ago, the Active Denial System had been largely abandoned amid doubts over its effectiveness and morality. Two former officials who attended the afternoon meeting at the Department of Homeland Security on Oct. 22, 2018, said the suggestion that the device be installed at the border shocked attendees, even if it would have satisfied the president.

Kirstjen Nielsen, then the secretary of homeland security, told an aide after the meeting that she would not authorize the use of such a device, and that it should never be brought up again in her presence, the officials said.
Nielsen was booted out long ago, but I don't think we've deployed it recently. Of course, Donald asked the National Guard to use it on protesters in Lafayette Square, but they don't possess it.

Border Officials Weighed Deploying Migrant ‘Heat Ray’ Ahead of Midterms

Heat ray 'was sought' against protest in Washington's Lafayette Square

Can we complain about China using a weapon we ourselves possess? How often have we used it to come to the conclusion that it is largely ineffective?

Yes, it should be a war crime. This is the same type of weapon (Acive Denial System) that some in our country wanted to use on protesters in D.C. I say we start by banning it’s use by our government.

Another pants on fire headline. "cook Indian soldiers alive" is deliberately mellow dramatic and misleading. What China did was most likely unacceptable according to international law but let's stick with the facts not try to sensationalize things.

The Americans have had these for ages. Great against GLA garrisons, but not much fun if you're playing vs China and they have Migs or Inferno cannons.

The US military has a similar system. It is used for crowd control and area denial, and it isn't considered a lethal weapon.
Same with tear gas, but people all of a sudden decided to complain about that this year.

If you have a problem with it . Take it up with your church. Then let your church and yourself stick your nose in some other countries business. I'm tired of Americans getting killed over something. That's none their business.
