So, to you early voters, how would you feel/what would you do......

.....If the candidate you voted for before election day passed away, became incapacitated or was charged with a serious crime before election day arrived? Does your state allow you to change your vote or is it simply the deed is done? If your state allows you to change your vote please give which state that is. This thread is linked to this thread: I voted.....

Per my state laws, I would print a new ballot and pick or write in someone new and send it in.
Sorry, shoulda thought of this but YOU would print a new ballot or would you have to wait until the state printed one? To my knowledge only ballots printed by authorized 'persons' are valid.

It is Washington state, and you can print one from the state website. You can do that if you change your mind before the final voting date.

I voted early for Trump because he is pro-life, not believing he would die early or be found to have committed a serious crime. Voting for a candidate who took a principled stand against abortion is what matters most, not his massive ego, bombastic personality, and questionable morality. We Christians must vote against genocide. A vote for life is a vote for Christian principles.

This site lists policies for the various states: Can You Change Your Vote? Probably Not. - FactCheck.org According to that site, my state (NJ) does not allow a vote to be changed.

I did wonder about this, and not because of early voting. Both major party candidates are old, and we are having a national pandemic. I wondered what would happen if the candidate who was elected died of Covid before they could be inaugurated in January. I'm still not sure what the legalities are. After the inauguration, the Vice President would take if the President died, but before the inauguration, I think things are legally murkier.

You take the risk. Not a big deal.

Besides, all of that stuff could happen to your candidate between election day and the inauguration, too, and you certainly can't change your vote in that time.
