i'm an 18 year old christian struggling with intrusive thoughts,
this one terrible thought happens to involve my 5 year old cousin that I was playing with one afternoon and this thought that I had sold her soul to the devil just popped up and now I'm terrified about it. I cant eat, sleep or do anything. i have these thoughts that her soul is gone, or somewhere else. I am in great distress and I'm not exaggerating. she's alive and perfectly normal but these thoughts are killing me. hours before i wrote this i thought her soul possesed an object. I've tried praying. I don't know what to do. (staff edit)

First of all you have no right to her soul to sell it in the first place. When you have these thoughts say, out loud where possible, you reject these thoughts in the name of Jesus and you bind the source of these thoughts in the name of Jesus. Profess your faith in Jesus and that you belong to Him and worship Jesus in prayer rather than dwell on these thoughts. It may stop immediately or may continue for a while but should gradually reduce and go away if it does. Do not let the thoughts win, whatever their cause.

Im not a pastor or even an expert on these matters, but have had challenging thoughts in the past and it worked for me.

I pray for you and ask you to look up Bible verses to help you. Promises from God. Here is my favourite verse.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that all who believe in him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus loves you and doesn't want these thoughts to fill your mind.
Fill your mind with love joy and peace.
Read the promises of God.

No honey, you did not sell her soul to anyone. Pacts with satan are done consciously by the person who owns the soul and it is done with blood. Her soul belongs to Christ right now and is not yours to do anything with! Even if someone DID sell their soul to the devil, all they need to do is honestly repent and Jesus will null the contract. As long as they do not take the mark of the beast. That cannot be undone. I recommend you get baptized as soon as possible. Satan is scrambling to get unbaptized people to commit suicide right now to bring them to hell. Satan hates humanity and wants to torture us all because he is jealous that God gave us a way to get back into heaven but no deals were made for him to come back and he cannot stand it.

Josiah, please do not despair. And certainly do no harm to yourself like suicide.

I know the thought that you had somehow sold your little cousin to darkness forever, must have been extremely distressing when it first flashed through your mind. And now it only continues to pain you because you were so afraid of and shocked by it initially. Your mind is obsessing over this thought. And it isn't easy to get over or get rid of. But take heart somehow that you cannot do such a thing as control the ultimate fate of another human being; how can you decide for your cousin - especially an innocent like a five year-old - that she permanently reject Christ and/or let Satan possess her somehow? You can't. No human can decide or determine something like that for another human. It was just a bad thought that somehow came to mind one day you were with your cousin, nothing more. And the only reason the thought seems so powerful or "real" is because you were so disgusted and shocked by it in the first place. No one wants to think things like that (in your case selling someone's soul to Satan), but it's the badness, the repulsiveness of such thoughts that causes them to repeat in your mind and cause you further distress, in your case to the point of thoughts of suicide.

It's okay, Josiah. Trust in Christ to save you, not just your life and soul by His blood, but from despair and suffering in bad times such as this. And trust also that He will do likewise for your cousin.

Greetings. I first would like to show my sympathy for the emotional suffering you have endured. Here is the biblical answer to your question.

Is it possible to sell your soul to the devil? | GotQuestions.org
Question: "Is it possible to sell your soul to the devil?"

Answer:
In the fanciful tale of Dr. Faustus, a man makes a deal with the devil: in exchange for his body and soul, the man is to receive supernatural power and pleasures for 24 years. The devil agrees to the trade, and Dr. Faustus enjoys the pleasures of sin for a season, but his doom is sealed. At the end of 24 years, Faustus attempts to thwart the devil’s plans, but he meets a frightful demise, nonetheless. This legend works well as a morality tale and as a metaphor for the wages of sin, but the details of its plot are not biblical.

The Bible has no instance of a person “selling his soul” to Satan, and it never implies that making a bargain with the devil is possible. Here is some of what Scripture does reveal about Satan:

1) Satan has power enough to oppose even the angels (Jude 9; Daniel 10:12-13).

2) Satan seeks to deceive by masquerading as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14-15).

3) God has provided the means of defending ourselves against Satan’s attacks (Ephesians 6:11-12).

4) Satan’s power is limited by God’s will (Job 1:10-12; 1 Corinthians 10:13).

5) As “the god of this world,” Satan has dominion over those who live without Christ in the world (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Surely, there are those who suffer under direct satanic control, such as the young medium of Philippi (Acts 16:16-19). And there are those who have devoted themselves to the devil’s work, such as the sorcerers Simon (Acts 8:9-11) and Elymas (Acts 13:8). However, in each of these three examples, the power of God prevails over Satan’s slavery. In fact, Simon is offered a chance to repent (Acts 8:22). Obviously, there had been no irrevocable “selling” of Simon’s soul.

Without Christ, we are all under condemnation of death (Romans 3:23). Before we are saved, we are all in bondage to the devil, as 1 John 5:19 says, “The whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” Praise the Lord, we have a new Master, One who can break the chains of any sin and set us free (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Mark 5:1-15).

As far as I can see, the only thing the devil has control over in this situation are the thoughts and emotions that are causing your suffering.

I remembered this... When I was 14 (and was not a believer ) I once wrote the evil's number on my arm with a pen. Will God forgive me for what I did?
I want to be with God and not the evil one
Is there such a state that one cannot be forgiven, ever?
That is not what it is. Look up " US patent WO/2020/666"

Josiah,
If you are a born again Christian, you have nothing to fear from this world or from the devil. Seek advice in person from a pastor - youth pastor - and any prayer warriors you may know.

James 4:7 says to "DRAW CLOSE TO GOD IN YOUR HEART AND SPIRIT AND IN PRAYER, AND HE WILL ALWAYS DRAW NEAR YOU - ALREADY BE THERE WAITING FOR YOU. THEN RESIST THE ENEMY, AND HE WILL ALWAYS RUN FROM YOU!!!"

This is for you from the Message Bible.

"Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between [you, Josiah] and Christ’s love for you? There is no way! Not trouble, [not confusing thoughts], not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture . . . None of this [can] faze you because Jesus loves you. I am absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between [you, Josiah] and God’s love because of the way that Jesus your Master has embraced you - [He will never let you go!]." (Romans 8:33-39)

You are in my prayers for power and a sure and holy calling - for joy. But above all, for you to have a lot of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. In Jesus name! Amen!

Thanks for reading my thread, and responding to it.
I'm in such a difficult time, I've done bad things in the past but I never want to hurt anyone. I want to be with God but I have these terrible terrible thoughts that cripple me every time they come, that even if I repent I'm still condemned, if I had commited an unforgivable sin...taken the mark of the beast for example. Thank you for the kind words. They've Given me Hope in receiving God's peace.

There is no such thing as selling soul to devil like people make it up in some horror movies , all souls belong to the devil by default unless you become born again you will go to hell with him and his angels.

I don't think 5 year old can understand message of gospel of Christ but you can simply tell him/her about Jesus.
