Today was one of those days. No real energy or excitement about anything. I’m sleeping but not as well as I should. My mind just keeps going. While I’m going through the motions for the holidays, having a hard time keeping up with it. Anybody else having this problem? Is it the stress of 2020? Anyone else having this problem or is it just me? Really just feeling blah.

There was a wave of extra prayer burden that flooded through late afternoon.

I discern it came from the body as pain/stress re-distribution - it would make sense that it affected everyone else in the same body in one way or another.

Been like this for the last 2 days.
I can’t seem to get anything done.
Blah.
There’s been a lot happening this year, and for me personally, it always sinks in when it’s over or just before, and probably a lot of personal things.
Do something that makes you laugh. For me, it always revives a little energy in my soul!

It is not just you. With Covid and an election, and now the election aftermath it's enough to cause a pandemic not of ennui but of overload. I find it so hard to get things done. I set my standards lower and it still seems I face a mountain.

With the election I feel like I lost a whole country. With Covid I feel I have lost normalcy. And the Church seems to be full of plain old sinners. Who woulda thunk that, huh? The last one I should have at least had a clue about.

I get it. And with my responsibilities to both our parents... it can be super overwhelming with everything else that is going on. Just need some decent sleep and get some energy and excitement back. Today was a struggle.

here's a suggestion: take your social media devices put them in a cardboard box, close it up, stick the box in a closet and leave it there for say...12 hours? In that twelve hours go outside, (if it's warm enough) and take a nice long walk, when you get done with the walk go take a nap, when you're done with the nap, eat something. when you're done eating? Take another nap. Then take another walk. I like to call this the "Elijah method of getting better"
He came to a lone broom bush and collapsed in its shade, wanting in the worst way to be done with it all—to just die: “Enough of this, God! Take my life—I’m ready to join my ancestors in the grave!” Exhausted, he fell asleep under the lone broom bush.

Suddenly an angel shook him awake and said, “Get up and eat!”

6 He looked around and, to his surprise, right by his head were a loaf of bread baked on some coals and a jug of water. He ate the meal and went back to sleep.

7 The angel of God came back, shook him awake again, and said, “Get up and eat some more—you’ve got a long journey ahead of you.”

8-9 He got up, ate and drank his fill, and set out. Nourished by that meal, he walked forty days and nights, all the way to the mountain of God, to Horeb. When he got there, he crawled into a cave and went to sleep.

Then the word of God came to him: “So Elijah, what are you doing here?”

10 “I’ve been working my heart out for the God-of-the-Angel-Armies,” said Elijah. “The people of Israel have abandoned your covenant, destroyed the places of worship, and murdered your prophets. I’m the only one left, and now they’re trying to kill me.”

11-12 Then he was told, “Go, stand on the mountain at attention before God. God will pass by.”

A hurricane wind ripped through the mountains and shattered the rocks before God, but God wasn’t to be found in the wind; after the wind an earthquake, but God wasn’t in the earthquake; and after the earthquake fire, but God wasn’t in the fire; and after the fire a gentle and quiet whisper.
sometimes? The Lord just wants us to rest, get something to eat and take a nice long walk. Get some rest sis, we'll be here when you're all refreshed and ready to go on.

Coffee! Ugh! ;) You know I cannot drink that stuff. I do a lot of those things believe it or not. I live in the woods but putting away the phone is not an option unfortunately. I’m the emergency person and my MIL is on Alert 1 and Response. I think all the doctor’s appointments are pretty much over till January but it depends on my mom’s Covid results. I do appreciate your advice tulc. :)

I've had a lot of fatigue lately, and afternoon naps so deep they're scary. But I attribute it to my restoring and rebalancing my ectrolytesafter years of depletion from Lyme. If melatonin doesn't work, you might try ashwaganda.

I've been more tired than normal. I'm sure it's stress. I've actually been sleeping before midnight! (I'm usually asleep at 3am.)
2020 has been the worst. No wonder you're feeling blah, I think we all are.

I've had a lot of stuff on the schedule with all the Catholic Scouting stuff. Just a general feeling of overwhelmed and exhausted.

Part of that was I was doing The homeschool log and I'm like oh we've done 107 days of school without taking a day off because they never stop. Which is awesome they always learn and they're working even on the weekends because they want to. And we unschool so it's not even like work for them it's just learning.

I do pause some schooling and give them all Advent off every year to make the focus completely on Advent. And that's always a beautiful recharge.

But I agree with you this year there's just something extra draining.

Lol! Seriously, the change of seasons do play into it for some.

The season do affect us. It is getting colder and darkness comes early couple that with the election, church scandals and covid fatigue . That can be a lot of stress.

Don't beat up on yourself, make sure to find some quiet time to pray and relax alone.
