We are not a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic. The founders intentionally set it up that way to prevent mob rule and a tyranny of the majority. Thus, the Electoral College.
I dont care if we "are a democracy".... so long as we DO democracy in terms of choosing our leaders and expressing consent of the governed via democratic processes.

And some people think that Biden has some aging mental deterioration. And that there was a plan along behind the scenes of getting a woman to be presidency, since the Hillary direct attempt failed.
Does it really do that, though?

Like, generally speaking, the person who gets the most votes in this country wins. In 53 of the 58 elections we've had, the person who won the popular vote won the Presidency. We've only had 5 times, in our entire history, where the majority haven't gotten their way in a Presidential election. So if the objective was to keep the majority from ruling over the minority, then it feels like it's done a poor job of that.

And the question has to be asked, how far do we take that maxim? If we run into a case, far down the line, where a candidate gets, like 70% or higher of the popular vote and still loses, would that not be taking things a little too far?

And how many times have the dems done the same?

To stop election protection? None that I remember. Happy to see some evidence to the contrary however. Please spare yourself the time of posting voting ID laws however.

that's what Donald Trump took away from us, all of our human dignity and decency, and human integrity and respect...
He supported the dignity & decency of pre-born human babies (human rights from conception)

When you have to make up self contradictory terms to support your position it might be problematic. A baby is, by definition, born.

That's another reason pointing to fraud. It makes no sense for conservatives to help "nearly all other Republicans" and bizarrely vote against Trump. Not with the demonstrable support he was getting. My guess is the fraudsters decided to go all out on Trump, the figurehead of Swamp Destruction, Inc.
Makes sense to me. Can't tell you the number of Republicans that I know that did not vote for Trump. Some of them didn't even vote for their own party for a few offices.

For many of the old conservative Republicans, Trump was the worst.

I don't think you have enough fingers and toes to count all the times the dems majority snuffed out legislation in committee submitted by repubs......but you already knew that, didn't you?

I was replying to the notion that there was a massive anti-Trump mandate in the votes.
The last guy to win the election with this margin called it a landslide and the biggest EC win in a generation - and he didn't even win the popular vote. He wouldn't lie, would he?

If anyone can return the electoral system to what it's supposed to be from the current fraud ridden systems, it's Trump, sir. I doubt if he'll wash the tainted system clean in two months, but future Republicans should benefit, IMO.
The GOP had 4 years to do so, but blocked all proposed bills because Democrat.
Senate GOP blocks three election security bills

Legislation that wasn’t related to election security? I certainly hope so. What I’m waiting for you to provide though is legislation related to electoral security that Dems supposedly prevented.

Great, no issue. The issue here is, the committee refused to even hear these bills -- as was a common tactic in McConnell's Senate. If Republicans had actually brought the bills the House passed in committee, and then voted them down, then I might have more respect. Ideally, they would have considered the bills, amended them to remove or change the things they didn't like and add things they wanted covered. Then, they could have passed the amended bill and worked with the House for a final law that would be satisfactory for both sides. But, no, they were refusing to even hear these bills at all, even just a committee vote to not hear or debate the bill.

We all ready had enough crap from Trump. Why should we have to deal with more of his nightmare.

Oh i think the left needs a thorn in their side, i mean if they are going to bring socialism or some-other new forum of government upon the american public. At least they need a little obstruction, most of the republicans now are so languid they, can not even wipe their own behinds.
