What makes us equal

We come in different sizes, shapes and colors. Yet we are equal, because, we have human life, and all human lives are equal because we are all created in the image of God. We must therefore have utmost respect for every human life and love and serve them unconditionally. The Sanskrit word, “namaste”, means, I bow down before the divine that is within you. When we become selfish and proud we reject God. When we reject God we loose respect for human life. This leads to injustice and evil in the world. Since the most priced and beautiful creation of God is human life, it is the first target evil attacks. Since human life begins through conjugal love, evil attacks it through the instrument of contraception. Contraception makes conjugal love sterile. Since love always aims to be fruitful, removal of this intent through contraception removes love from conjugal union and converts it to a selfish act. Furthermore, since contraception goes against conception of a new life, it goes against human life. This makes people numb when they destroy human embryos during IVF or kill their babies in the womb through abortion. It also increases divorce, because without true love it is difficult to sustain marriage. This creates a secular culture devoid of true love, leading to abortion, euthanasia and murder. It also creates a culture that makes human being commodities for sexual pleasure.

...all human lives are equal because we are all created in the image of God.

People who are not conceived are not made in the image of God. They are not made at all.

It also increases divorce, because without true love it is difficult to sustain marriage.

My wife and I have been happily married for a quarter of a century, without any children. My brother and sister have reproduced like rabbits and been divorced one and two times, each. True love exists apart from conception. This much is evident.

This creates a secular culture devoid of true love, leading to abortion, euthanasia and murder.

I've successfully avoided conception, but I've done none of those things, nor am I likely.

This is a strange thread. It seems like it is written in two parts. The first part talks about how we are all equal and the second part talks about contraception. I have to say that I disagree with your entire post.

What makes you believe that we are all equal?

What makes you believe that contraception is wrong?

Made in His image, true. He would that none should perish, true. Perhaps in His love for humanity we may be equal. I've never seen it in scripture though. He gave different gifts. In the parable of the talents He gave greater and lesser talents. The Constitution may state we are created equal, I've yet to find it in scripture.

We are all equal because God made all of us through himself. so the logic goes that we are all equal and therefore maybe we should not have abortions since The Unborn are equal to us. I prefer the sexual act to be sinful and not make children rather than that people fool around and then kill their unborn child. People are weak and foolish and cannot control themselves, the young often cannot fathom enough what the addictive pleasure leads to. And when we do not mature we stay the same.

I'm sorry that you have such a depressing picture of life; it certainly is not what God intends. What happened to God's command, restated by Jesus, to love your neighbor as yourself? Although your post is carefully worded, you're still violating this basic command.
You're also violating the command not to judge others: "“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" Matthew 7:1-3

You also wrote, "This creates a secular culture devoid of true love, leading to abortion, euthanasia and murder. It also creates a culture that makes human being commodities for sexual pleasure." I strongly disagree with this, including the depressing tone. 1) We do NOT have a secular culture. There are millions of religious people of all denominations and faiths who are good people that live their lives according to how they believe God wants them to live. 2) I strongly disagree that this culture, which you obviously dislike intensely, "makes human being commodities for sexual pleasure." I'm not sure what experiences you have had, but by far the overwhelming majority of people whom I know personally and whom I know of, are NOT "commodities for sexual pleasure". They are loving, faithful people, devoted to each other, their families, their friends, who also enjoy their sexual relationship.

Your negativity and judgment of others is very depressing. If God loves the world why don't you do the same? Stop being a Pharisee and start becoming more like Jesus; He is the way, the truth, and the life.

Assuming that "people" applies to you -- you are human, aren't you? Therefore, you're including yourself -- you must also be weak, foolish, and can't control yourself.

In case you're never read Matthew 7:1-3, it reads, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"

The rest of your critical post doesn't deserve a reply.

You made a harsh and critical judgement when you wrote "people are weak and foolish and cannot control themselves". We are commanded to love our neighbor as ourselves; why not give it a try?

You misjudge my intentions. I was calling them what they were and what I've known myself to be. I was merely telling the truth. Even wisdom calls people fools. I'm not going to whitewash over someone.
