I would have no objection to spending eternity with my kitties. Last year I had to have my left leg amputated because of an infected broken bone. Before I went in the hospital I was in bed in great pain. One afternoon my little girl hopped up in bed with me carrying her favorite toy in her mouth, a stuffed white mouse. She looked directly into my eyes for a few seconds, then dropped the mouse in front of me. I think she knew that I wasn’t feeling well and thought her favorite toy would make me feel better. Both she and my big guy spent time lying next to me. That’s love.
This is one of my favorites:
"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...."
What do you mean by this? Why wouldn't a cat want to be a cat forever? God designed his animals perfectly... Are you saying pets are somehow made imperfect just because they aren't human? Also in glory pets will have a lot more powers. Animals actually spoke in the OT scriptures. I wouldn't be surprised if they get this ability in heaven.Well the biggest problem with a pet being in heaven is they have to be a pet forever. Would you want to be a cat forever? I don't think anyone would.

Actually in the case of cats He designed them purrfectly...What do you mean by this? Why wouldn't a cat want to be a cat forever? God designed his animals perfectly... I will check it out! Thanks!I
have you ever read a poem by a man named Christopher (kit) Smart? An 18th century poet. He wrote a long epic poem called Rejoice in the Lamb and there is a beautiful section in it where he describes his cat Geoffrey and how Geoffrey is pleasing to the Lord just because he is being himself, a cat! Google it. It is superb. Benjamin Britten set this poem to music, listen if you can, it is lovely. Especially the cat bit.
I once had a pair of guinea pigs. What delightful creatures. Looking forward to seeing them at Rainbow Bridge!I actually feel the same way about my guinea pigs. Like God enjoys them as they squeak and chatter and popcorn their way through life, just by being THEM. They just are.
Sometimes when I pray in tongues or say ?Jesus is Lord they actually jump up in the air and do a little dance ( in the guinea pig owners, breeders.community this is called popcorning)!
I know that this is a matter of dispute, that some Christians do not believe that pets will be in Heaven. I certainly believe that my beloved kitties will be waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge.
I don’t care if I’m in Pittsburgh as long as my kitties are with me.You will be in New Jerusalem.
Then you will all end up in Pittsburg for eternity.I don’t care if I’m in Pittsburgh as long as my kitties are with me.
Not a bad place to be. Primanti Brothers, fish sandwiches at Wholey’s, beer at Church Brew Works, symphony concerts at Heinz Hall. Maybe the Pirates would even win. Then you will all end up in Pittsburg for eternity.
