This is the teaching to fear the Lord (not confirming a covenant) - exactly what was undone in the New Testament era. There was no need as the New Covenant was with the faithful remnant, and His Law was written on hearts....not tablets of stone.

Hebrews 8:11
No longer will each one teach his neighbor or his brother,
saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know Me

13By speaking of a new covenant,c He has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.
The animal sacrifices were stopped in 70ad, weren't they? The Mt. Sinai covenant is not the pre-eminent covenant in the world, but salvation through Christ Jesus.

The animal sacrifices as a matter of what the Jews will do, is part of the vision of the transgression of desolation to take place at the time of the end.

The word "daily" does not appear.
The word "sacrifice" does not appear.
The word "Daniel" does not appear.
There is no quote or citation of the Daniel passages.

There is no connection between 2 Thessalonians 2 and the Daniel passages.

The words "transgression of desolation" are not in the text. But that is what the act of 2Thessalonians2:4 is because it triggers the beginning of the Day of Christ, the Day of the Lord - that Paul had spokened about in 1Thessalonians5, to the Thessalonicans, shattering the illusion of saying peace and safety - as the world at that time will be thinking it has entered the messianic age entering the 70th week.

Many in Christianity will fall away from believing in Jesus during the first three years of the 70th week, believing the Antichrist is the messiah, and that the Jews were right. The great falling away.

2Thessalonians2:4
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work [which is the spirit of antichrist]: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

________________________________________________________

The revealed man of sin will be destroyed at Jesus's return.

The little horn person in Daniel 8 will attempt to make war on Jesus and be destroyed by Jesus. Cast into the lake of fire.

Daniel 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Paul wrote that the man of lawlessness was being restrained back in their day.....so why haven't we heard about an almost 2,000 year old man living?

2 Thessalonians 2:6
And you know what is now restraining him, so that he may be revealed at the proper time
The great opposer to Jesus is time of the end, the parable of the fig tree generation that will not pass away without witnessing Jesus's return.

When the person commits the transgression of desolation act, he will be in the role of being the Antichrist, King of Israel coming in his own name.

The Church, the body of believers looking for Jesus to take them out of the world - has not been raptured yet - that's is what is restraining the man of sin being revealed in his time.

I must disagree: the rapture will trigger the Day of the Lord. The rapture as the departing as the apostasia must come first, as Paul states, and THEN the man of sin will be revealed.

Paul indicated two things take place before the Day of Christ, the Day of the Lord, begins - in 2Thessalonians2. And another thing in 1Thessalonians5, of the world saying "peace and safety".

Of the two things in 2Thessalonians2, the first is the great falling. Then the second thing is the act of the great opposer to Jesus going into the temple, sitting, claiming to be God. That is what triggers the Day of the Lord beginning.

The rapture could happen that very day, right before the act of stopping the daily sacrifice and the person's audacious act - we don't know for sure. The rapture could also happen in the next second - as well, and be within scriptural description of it.

From my chart....

The resurrection of the messiah on the third day in not in Daniel 9.

Once again, you are ignoring the fact that the resurrection is not mentioned in Jeremiah 31:31-34, or in most of the other New Covenant passages.

It is His blood which fulfilled the New Covenant.

Heb 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,
Heb 12:23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
Heb 12:24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

Please show us the passages in the New Testament which include both the words "New Covenant" and "resurrection".
If you cannot do that, you are only promoting a "boondoggle".

The great opposer to Jesus is time of the end, the parable of the fig tree generation that will not pass away without witnessing Jesus's return.
You mean the "coming of the Son of man appearing in heaven ".....right? Because that's not the same as Jesus's return.

Paul and Jesus agreed that Paul's generation was the generation to experience the end. End of the Old Covenant and end of the Mt Sinai religious system, that is.

As I posted earlier, yet it was brushed aside, Paul wrote that the man of lawlessness was already being restrained in Paul's day. I don't know how else a man could be restrained unless he were alive at the time Paul was.

However....this has nothing to do with the cessation of sacrifices written about in Daniel. That was Jesus that put an end to sacrifices written about there (v. 27) with His perfect and acceptable final sacrifice of Himself that took away the sin of this world....just as John the baptizer had announced He would:

John 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

You are beginning to sound like the Muslims who demand a verse of Jesus saying "I am God".
Isn't it the same thing to demand a verse that includes the word "resurrection" in order to qualify as a confirmed covenant reference?

Douggg quoted:

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
Jesus said it was written that He would rise from the dead on the third day. Where do you believe it was written? What was Jesus referring to?

We don't NEED to find any of those words in 2 thes. 2, because we don't form doctrine from an isolated text, but rather from all end time texts.

The mark of a genuine dispensationalist. When the words aren't there, then you don't NEED to find them there. Completely convenient.

"We" does not include me and a host of others in the Church of God inside and outside this forum.
