It's like "carding" on steroids.
Makes sense though. If someone later tests or comes down with COVID, you have a list of people to contact and let them know.

If you are going to go out and eat in an enclosed space with other people, that is just a price to pay now.

The White Rose's were merely advocating violence. That's why the Third Reich had those terrorists put down.

I'm sure then you can point which member of the White Rose said to go rough up some members of the German health services?

The fact that you managed to Godwin this thread within two posts says a whole lot about the strength of your arguements. You are not a member of an anti-Nazi organisation during said Nazi rulership. Deflate that ego a bit.

I don't know what the rest of the world does, but in NZ each premises has a QR code at the door.
People going to the premises use an App on their phone and scan the QR code. It keeps a record of where and when you where there. Helps contact tracing immensely, so if their is a break out then they can isolate those people and their families and don't necessarily need to lock the whole country down.

More reason for anti-science people to moan and wail I suppose.

It's just basic contact tracing - has been going on here for a while and it doesn't do anything more than add 30 seconds to your wait for a table. Many places quickly went over to a QR code you simply scan and quickly enter your name and phone number into.

I'm not sure why this is surprising.

In the UK we have QR codes we scan and that's it. If we were in a certain place at the same or similar time as someone with Covid symptoms then we get notified about next steps, e.g. isolating.

What liberty are we losing exactly? The freedom to not give our name to a restaurant that can get it anyway from our credit card?
Papers, papers please....a common phrase heard in Germany in the 1930's & 40's.....
