It definitely isn't. The Federalist is the very last place to get scientific information from. You are better off consulting a magic eight ball.

Mask wearing is an important cog in the covid-safe machinery, together with things like social distancing, tracing/tracking, and limiting large group gatherings. All of these things contribute to non plague ridden society. The Federalist doesn't mention the relaxing of mask mandates that came later in Europe, the complete non compliance with distancing and groups that Europeans engaged in, or the multitude of studies which show mask wearing helps stop the spread.

This is not a political issue, it's not a liberty issue...unless you are a psychopath that enjoys killing people. It's a science issue, and that's without the bizarreness of Christians slavering to sacrifice their countrymen at the altar of mammon.

They cited plenty of groups. It's not like they just made up or posted their own opinions. What I find is that people say they believe in science but in reality they only believe in those reporting what falls in line with their own views. Lately there have been more and more studies showing that masks don't work. The science is changing because we now have more data and have had time to study what's going on. Science is ever changing with knowledge. These charts show progression over time and the mask mandates did nothing.

Texas and Georgia are very different states. Texas has more urban centers that are densely populated. Comparing two areas like that is too small of a set of data to make meaningful conclusions that support the notion that masks are ineffective.

The rest of the article is really sensationalist political propaganda with spurious arguments on why masks are allegedly "bad". If you saw somebody dying in an ICU from COVID-19, I doubt you would conclude that something that even provided a modest reduction in the number of deaths could be considered bad.

Arc F1, you live in a free society and as such are free to believe what ever you want. If you choose to get your science from an extremist right wing rag, then go right ahead. You are the one that has to live in a country where 1000 people a day die from a preventable disease, not me. You are the one supporting the reprehensible idea that the economy...or more correctly the enormous wealth of the rich people, is more important than lives, and you are the one that thinks when they die a supreme being is going to judge them for their actions. Various bits of Matthew spring to mind.

I've already had it and yes it's tough. I wore a mask and followed all the guidelines. My wife even sprayed me down with disinfectant before I would come into the house and remove my mask. I had to be careful because of my immune system. After having it several times now I've given up on the mask. It makes no difference.

Unfortunately there are only two types of sources. Extremist left wing and extremist right wing.

Yes I believe in God. I find it odd that anyone who doesn't would hang out on a site named Christian forum unless they were wanting to learn.

Are you saying you have had Covid19 several times?

A mask is not a substitute for social distancing. It's merely another tool to slow the spread of infection.

If you have immune problems you shouldn't even be needlessly exposing yourself to potential infection, if you value your life.

Yesterday, Melbourne recorded 0 cases off 15000 tests. Today, Melbourne recorded 0 cases off 15000 tests. Tomorrow the lockdown ends, and we moved into a staged reopening which includes me going to the pub tomorrow evening for a beer.
Yes, well done.

It's annoying that many places won't even try.
If all countries did this, we would have this pandemic beat world-wide.
As it is, we have to keep quarantining people from overseas.
