I hate it when a mere career worker challenges the politicians. Glad the pols can stomp out that sort of disloyalty.
Is that “career worker” one of the third party candidates?

I suspect that means the person fired has no right of review or appeal.

I've posted the link a number of times - reading it would ease your suspicions, it is not a long, nor difficult read.

People will read what they wish to believe, into this decision. Either you believe that federal employees should be required to consistently meet high standards of job performance or risk losing their positions, or you believe that this is just Trump trying to stuff the government with more people that he personally likes.

I am witness to 3.5 years of Trump doing the latter.....

We don't doubt your link. We doubt your reading comprehension. You keep posting some irrelevant paragraph. How 'bout this one?

(ii) 5 CFR 6.4 [i.e. Removal of incumbents of excepted positions.] is amended to read:
“Except as required by statute, the Civil Service Rules and Regulations shall not apply to removals from positions listed in Schedules A, C, D, E, or F, or from positions excepted from the competitive service by statute. The Civil Service Rules and Regulations shall apply to removals from positions listed in Schedule B of persons who have competitive status.”

The EO creates a new Schedule (Schedule F) of employee. It takes away the protections of the civil service rules with respect to removals.

Unelected bureaucrats being held accountable to an elected President - imagine that...

Ugh. C'mon people. When there's a change in the White House, the park rangers aren't all fired and replaced. This is gross and you all know it.

Not to mention the mass inefficiency this would generate. I do recall it used to be (way, way back) that everyone related to the incoming party got jobs. Of course, the government was smaller then and the jobs were simpler. But now we need that bureaucratic knowledge to keep the whole thing running.

Heck, the Chinese figured this out centuries ago. Having the politicians be able to fire whoever they want for whatever reason (like what party they support) is a recipe for disaster.

Many civil servants are dedicated to the agency's mission they are in. There is no reason to fire them just because the agency is in political disfavor.

Additional.

Remember the rouge department twitters and NASA dumping of data at the start of Trump's Presidency? This was one of the fears that started that. If they start following through with this, expect more leaks and rough tweets.

This could make a big mess of our government. More than it is now.

How things started
‘Stunning’ Executive Order Would Politicize Civil Service

President Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order creating a new classification of “policy-making” federal employees that could strip swaths of the federal workforce of civil service protections just before the next president is sworn into office.

'An attempt to sabotage': Trump's potential purge of career employees casts pall across federal government

While the agencies have until January 19 to identify positions they believe should be reclassified, several agencies began compiling their lists immediately, including the Department of Energy, where managers received the attached memo, obtained by CNN, asking them to identify positions for possible transfer.

The OMB is also rushing ahead. According to a source with knowledge of internal conversations, the office sent in its reclassification list last week, submitting more than half its employees for potential transfer.
