If I had some free time, I might cross reference the folks who say Trump could be / probably is a Christian with those who proclaim Biden to be a bad catholic.

That Venn diagram is a circle ilu

We know how this works come on ^_^

He's identifying as non-denominational now. Before he identified as Presbyterian. I wouldn't be too surprised if he pulls a Tony Blair.

Secret Catholic?

Good news for you, I don't think you'll have to live with that ignominy.

The Russians handed the election to Trump by their intervention in 2016. He requested their help -- "Russia, if you're listening..." and they give it to him. I totally agree that this nation would not be the nation it is now if she would have won the election. It would be much better off!

Homosexuality is sin. Abortion is sin. Adultery is a sin: Trump is a thrice-married adulterer who hires prostitutes then tries to cover that up by bribery.

"I realize there are many on this board who claim to be genuine believers but are not." And your evidence for this statement is? (Aside from your own prejudice)

I agree that we shouldn't be like the children of Israel who wanted a king that wasn't according to God's own heart. They paid dearly for choosing Saul, and we have paid dearly for Trump.

God is giving us the chance next week to throw him and his sin out of office.
I believe a lot of Christians voted for Trump because of what he promised to do with the Supreme Court. The court would be much different had Hillary won

And lets not exaggerate any accomplishments that might have occurred when the dems had their short stint at the helm. More like the 20 year catastrophe that ruined the country. We are here to clean up their mess but then the covid. We have no doubt that given time Trump will continue to clean up the dems mess.

All of that is irrelevant. The issue is that Trump doesn't really believe in your religion, doesn't really value it, and has been recorded as saying privately it amounts to bunk and nonsense. He's playing conservative Christians, happy to hand them empty promises that he knows are politically impossible and/or absurd or hollow, if it means "owning the libs" and hurting people that conservative Evangelicals hate or fear.

A great example of that is Trump's claims that everyone would be saying "Merry Christmas" again. The issue, he seems to have forgotten to tell his own businesses. Though this article is now a couple of years old, it shows that Trump's businesses have continued to use "Happy Holidays" and not to mention Christmas.

Trump is a Christian. Trump defied the odds and won the election. Trump has ended wars. Trump has brought peace to the Holy land. Trump is loved by Israel and called Messiah. Trump got the Covid on a FRIDAY and ROSE UP to go back to the White House THREE DAYS later.

Surely you are aware even God hates.

Are you God?

As for what you as a Christian are supposed to do, JackRT is indeed correct that the bible is quite contradictory on the point, but there are a lot of pretty clear indicators.

Would you prefer OT (“You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.") or NT ("If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.")?

Not a secret Catholic, but maybe becoming a Catholic. There are clues. Kind of as wild as Oscar Wilde, but that was on his deathbed. Anyhow, imagine if he actually repented of his arrogance.

By the way, pope Francis has said Trump is not a Christian. He who said "Who am I to judge?" has judged.

God does as he chooses for his own reasons, he kills while telling us not to...nothing new about that type scenario, and nothing contridictory on what he asks of us. We should love, but
God is aware that does not always happen...even with himself. Its all actually very simple to understand.

You're insinuating that God and humanity are comparable and live by the same rules. God also ordered genocides, does that mean that it's forgivable for man to do the same if he's in a bad mood?

I am insinuating nothing of thr sort. It is you doing the insinusting. I made it as simple as I possibly could for you so, like it or not, makes no difference to me.

Is there a bit of the bible I missed where God implies that him showing hatred is somehow a flaw or weakness?

What you are presenting isn't exactly the mainstream Christian understanding.

Seriously, did the first few of the ten commandments get overruled when I wasn't paying attention?
