If you are voting for Biden, what are you voting for? What do you want him to do?

Are you voting for ruining of our economy through banning fracking and fossil fuel energy?
Are you voting for changing the ACA so people on private insurance they like will lose it?
Are you voting for higher unemployment, especially for minorities?
Are you voting for diseases coming across the border unfettered during a pandemic?
Are you voting for packing the court, not with qualified justices, but with justices that will do what the dems want them to do?
Are you voting for suppression of dissenting voices?
Are you voting for packing the senate so only the dems will ever have control?

This is what it seems you are voting for to me. Can you articulate what you are voting for without referencing the President?

With out addressing the points which are just silly dark fantasies which do not exist in reality, if I were American, I'd be voting for Biden so

The US government is in line with the current transition to renewables which free market forces are enacting anyway. For instance, it is now cheaper to build a solar powered station in the USA than a coal one.

I'd absolutely vote for universal coverage, single payer with private cover 2 tiered systems which works well here in Australia and just about every other western nation. At the very least I'd get rid of the utterly ridiculous concept of employer based healthcare.

Vote for extra justices on the court to bring it back to a equal balance.

Not a very clever push poll.

I'm voting for Biden because the other alternative is four more years ruled by a pathological narcissist.

There are a lot of things I want out of the Biden/Harris administration. They won't be as progressive as we need, but they can stop the negative momentum & get us turned in the right direction.

I have well established criteria for who gets my vote. Their body temperature should approximate 98.6 degrees, and their last name should not be Trump or Pence. Oh yeah, I would prefer them to be the leading vote-getter with potential to unseat Trump, but it is not required.

I’m voting to restore a sense of dignity back to the White House. I doubt Biden would be all that effective in getting through much of what I’d like to see but at the very least he isn’t demonizing half the country and actively working against our efforts to deal with the current big issues we’re facing.

Biden probably has dementia and is already saying Harris administration.
And he’s still looking better than signing up for another 4 years with Trump.

Disclaimer: I'm not a Democrat or Republican. I'm an independent centrist.

Are you voting for ruining of our economy through banning fracking and fossil fuel energy?

Biden is planning on phasing out the oil gradually, replacing it with other energy sources. That's fine by me, and it won't ruin the economy.

Are you voting for changing the ACA so people on private insurance they like will lose it?

Certainly not. Biden isn't in favor of that, and I think he can hold back those that are.

Are you voting for higher unemployment, especially for minorities?

Nope. I expect the virus to keep unemployment high regardless of who is president.

Are you voting for diseases coming across the border unfettered during a pandemic?

No, I'm voting to reduce the spread of the disease within the country. Any disease coming across the border is insignificant compared to the current internal spread.

Are you voting for packing the court, not with qualified justices, but with justices that will do what the dems want them to do?

No, but after what the Republicans pulled in 2016, I don't care if Democrats pack the court a little with qualified liberal justices to compensate.

Are you voting for suppression of dissenting voices?
Are you voting for packing the senate so only the dems will ever have control?

I'm not particularly concerned about that at this time.

Can you articulate what you are voting for without referencing the President?

No. I'm not really voting on the issues this time around. But I'm confident that Biden has the experience necessary to do the job and fix a lot of things I see as broken. I also see him as compassionate, honestly caring about the lives of American citizens, and willing to work with political opponents to get the job done. So I'm not voting for the lesser of two evils. I think Biden is a decent choice... even if he's a boring choice and a bit too old. Boring may be what we need this time around.

He supports phasing out fossil fuels in 15 years and will ban fracking. Read this website on energy.

Solar is not viable. It cannot be built to get a return on your investment as coal can without government subsidies. Solar panels will degrade before you make your money back on the install.

I'd absolutely vote for universal coverage, single payer with private cover 2 tiered systems which works well here in Australia and just about every other western nation. At the very least I'd get rid of the utterly ridiculous concept of employer based healthcare.
That is not what Biden is proposing. Read his website. I like my employer healthcare. It is inexpensive and has a lot of benefits. Why should I be forced off of my healthcare system I like? We could have a system to cover people that cannot afford care and leave everyone that wants to keep their plans alone.

Vote for extra justices on the court to bring it back to a equal balance.
It is equal. Only the liberal justices base their decisions not on law but on their personal ideals.

Green energy
everyone is for green energy. Conservatives just don;t want t ruin t he economy to get it. We can get to green energy a more responsible way.

Universal healthcare
Everyone wants this. Conservatives just want to leave people alone that are ok with their private plans. We can cover everyone we don't need to force people off plans they like.

Biden's tax plan
What is it?

Start to heal division in the country
That will not happen becasue the dems will only relent when everyone agrees with them.

Progress & change
What does this mean?

There are a lot of things I want out of the Biden/Harris administration. They won't be as progressive as we need, but they can stop the negative momentum & get us turned in the right direction.
before the pandemic we had record low unemployment for all and especially minorities. A more peaceful middle east. How are these things the wrong direction?

An administration that actually takes climate change and pollution seriously, for one thing. I don't know about you, but I like having clean air and water.
Everyone wants clean air and water. Guess what, most people do in the US.

He wants to phase it pout in 15 years. Banning fracking will ruin the economy in itself and 15 years is too fast.

Certainly not. Biden isn't in favor of that, and I think he can hold back those that are.
His plan will result in just this.

Nope. I expect the virus to keep unemployment high regardless of who is president.
I agree. But before the pandemic we had record low unemployment.

No, but after what the Republicans pulled in 2016, I don't care if Democrats pack the court a little with qualified liberal justices to compensate.
But they are not looking for qualified justices but justices that will vote for them.

You have been duped. He only cares about being president and will do whatever the dems want as president. At least Trump shows who he is. Biden hides it.

You have succinctly put your finger on some stuff that has been in my mind too but had problems trying to frame it right for a thread.

The double standard (or emotional whip lash), when you have issues like the starting of new wars, "kids in cages" etc. and why that is unacceptable for a Republican but tolerable or OK for a Democrat, but nice succinct style!

I find that most democrat's I talk to are not voting for Joe but against Trump. They are not voting on real issues. Biden will be a bad choice for all Americans, dems and repubs.

You didn't provide a website. Regardless, a 15 year phase out seems reasonable given current trends.

Solar is not viable. It cannot be built to get a return on your investment as coal can without government subsidies. Solar panels will degrade before you make your money back on the install.

That was true 20 years ago, even 10 years ago. It's not true now. There's been massive advancements in renewable tech. Solar is now cheaper than coal in the US.

Because it's a ridiculous system.

It is equal. Only the liberal justices base their decisions not on law but on their personal ideals.

Again, I am happy to address decent civil points, I am not going to address these silly, uncivil dark fantasies that have no basis in reality.
