Day 27, Proverbs Chapter 27

"Better is open rebuke than hidden love" Prov 27:5 ESV

Amen.

What stood out for me is the very first verse, as it reminds us to never ever boast about a tomorrow, and it brings to mind the very rich man, boasting about how many more barns he'sgoing to build tomorrow to hold his overflowing crops, when, even as he thoght it and spoke it, he did not not know that his life was required of him by God, and that he would not even live to SEE tomorrow.

NONE of us do, amen?

Honor thy father and thy mother.

Proverbs 27:
(This bears repeating. Amen. )

This is basically saying to not shame your father or mother. It also means not to shame God. For our enemy the accuser goes before God constantly to accuse us to Him, just like he did with Job, in the Old Testament. Therefore our mind and heart-set should be in tune with whether we are bringing shame to our mother or father or to our God, our heavenly Father.

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so a person's face is sharpened by their friend.

One of the main reasons I like to come here to CF.

Dear ones,
Many are concerned about today’s society and may have considered them like what the proverbs said :

Crush a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain, yet his folly will not depart from him. -Proverbs 27:22

Are we concerned about the foolishness of today’s society?

As we also have heard:
Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; -Psalms 107:17

Didn’t our hearts long for today’s society be saved from their foolishness?

This is what we have heard:
By steadfast love and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the LORD one turns away from evil. -Proverbs 16:6

Wouldn’t you consider foolishness as evil ?

Let us hope and pray that many will have the fear of the Lord, that they may turn away from this foolishness.

So do we tell today’s society the message of fear and condemnation, that they may be saved ? No.

Let us tell today’s society, the message of steadfast love and faithfulness of our God, that their iniquities may be atoned; this is the message of righteousness of Christ, that gives life to their broken lives; that they may be established in Christ’s love.
