To many of our leaders and churches are preaching smooth messages today. Messages about the love of Jesus Christ, without the conviction of sin. Yes, they tell of the 'love of God', but have abandoned the Bible truth concerning victory over sin. The messages given today from the pulpits produce no conviction of sin and appeals to the majority of the world these days.

Isaiah 30:9-10
Many preachers are now saying we cannot get the victory over sin until Jesus returns. This is a lie from the devil friends!

Preachers today:
"Jesus loves everyone and we should love the world like Jesus did. Love, love love! The end!

Full Bible truth: "Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God." (Ephesians 5:1-5)

The problem is, there are TWO kinds of 'love'. Love of self, that result in sin. And love of God, that result in obedience and righteousness. And the love that is preached in most churches today unfortunately, is love of self, not God. Hence why most people are still living lives of sin. Because sin is the result of loving self.

Many people are at the ease today, thinking they need not gain the victory over the sin in their lives. They believe they need not make any effort in the cause of God's kingdom. They sit down in calm expectation, thinking that God will protect them in the last days. And many are going to be shocked when the Lord returns!
"But God will not save us if we make no effort to do the work he has committed to our charge. We must be found faithfully at our posts, watching as valiant soldiers, lest Satan shall gain an advantage which it is our duty to prevent. We should diligently study the Word of God, and pray in faith that God, and pray in faith that Word of God, and pray in faith that God will restrain the powers of darkness; for as yet the message has gone to comparatively few, and the world is to be lightened with its glory. The present truth regarding the Commandments of God and the faith of Jesus has not yet been sounded as it must be. There are many almost within the shadow of our own doors for whose salvation no personal effort has been made."

All the churches of Babylon preach about the 'love' of God, without the conviction of sin, because Satan has deceived the leaders into accepting a false gospel. They reject the 'everlasting gospel' which God's remnant church is supposed to preach to the world according to Revelation 14:6.

So why are the majority of God's professed remnant churches also preaching the same 'smooth' messages as the churches of Babylon? Enough. This must stop!
Is the Bible not clear in the message it gives that we are to turn away from all sin? Is the spirit of prophecy also not clear that we are to 'perfect' our characters through the indwelling of Jesus Christ ready for the last days? Well, let's confirm the truth.

1Peter 2:21-22. 1John 2:3-4. John 5:14. John 8:10-11.
Important note: Our 'keeping the Commandments' is NOT of ourselves. Our keeping the Commandments is a result of walking in the love of Christ and allowing Him, by His Spirit, to dwell in us and change us.

So many people love to hold onto the words that Jesus spoke to the woman caught in adultery ...."neither do I condemn thee." ...Which reveals the love and mercy of God. But they ignore the clear instruction Jesus also attached to that statement ... "SIN NO MORE." ...You see, if the woman went away and continued living a life of sin, then the grace of God would no longer cover her. She would be lost in her sins. But the grace of God would still cover her if she went away and turned away from sin and lived a life following Jesus. This is why Jesus told her ... and the man ... to sin no more. Now don't get me wrong. We all have stumbled in sin AFTER coming to Christ. I am not saying you won't stumble now and again while you grow in faith. And God will forgive you if you repent. But the problem I'm talking about is the belief that we cannot stop sinning. As this goes against the Word of God.

Romans 8:1-2.

Do you see? There is no condemnation for those who do not continue in sin.

I think the reason they stay away from doing that is as outreach to any seekers who are considering the faith. "Fire and brimstone" condemnation of sin is only going to drive those people away.

I respectfully disagree. People need to sup on God's Word, FIRST. The Holy Spirit breathed it out (through chosen vessels) and He convicts and encourages through it beyond any human ability. Once someone has a working knowledge of the Word they can receive "sermons" and throw out all the junk that inevitably comes with them (including endless beating of the sheep, "because THEY DON'T APPRECIATE GOD" nonsense!!!).

Everyone think they’re the remnant. Seventh-Day Adventists, Baptists, Mennonites, Mormons, Evangelicals, etc.

Everyone tries to out-shame and call out better than the next guy. Everyone claims every one else is worldly, apostate, etc. I get so tired of it.

The older I get, the more I’m just like “I’m going to hide in my little prayer shell. Let me know if you need help finding peanut butter. God bless you”.

It is better to open the Bible and read all the Bible verses of this statement. We are not following any religion teaching. We are following the Bible teachings. God bless you.

I kind of think there is some truth to what the originAl poster is saying but in many ways I feel just the same as you do!! There does have to be a balance

To me,the more we realise how much God has redeemed us and loved js, the less likely we are to sin

It seems to me context matters a great deal. I would think the necessary subject matter of sermons may be different if one is speaking to believers or to the unchurched. The sermon of a street preacher or at a revival (anyone remember what those are?) might be quite different than when speaking to a body of believers who have already made a decision to follow Christ. One may stand in greater need of hearing about the wages of sin than the other. Christians need to hear about how to be better Christians and walk in the way of Jesus.

But for that matter, isn't not loving your neighbor also a sin? So aren't sermons about love also about not sinning (i.e. not loving)?

I don't recall Jesus focusing on sin very much, but rather on His heavenly Kingdom and the call of sinners.

God didn't send Jesus into the world to change his mind about mankind, rather, he sent Jesus to change men's minds about God.

Also, the actual meaning of the word, "sin," is to miss the mark. It's like an archer aiming for his target and misses it.

When thought in the true meaning, we have a better understanding about Jesus teaching that it wasn't sacrifice he sought, but compassion and mercy.

Romans 8:1-2.

Do you see? There is no condemnation for those who do not continue in sin.

I am thankful that the Holy Spirit have been poured on many people; If we sin, the Holy Spirit will convict of our sins; He will guide us into all truth and His truth will set us free.

As we are all processed or sanctified by the truth of God’s words, I find it is also important that we daily consecrate or dedicate or submit our life to God’s will, purpose and plans.

To sin no more, or not to drift away from our calling as those who believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ and who receive the Holy Spirit ; it is JUST NOT ENOUGH to confess our sins daily ; we need to submit our will to the Lord through prayers ; when we dedicate our time to pray according to His word, we gain His strength to live according to His words.

This is what one of the things that I submit according to what is written in Roman 6:16-6:23

Roman 6:16
I offer myself to God to obey Him as slaves,
I am slave to God to obedience, which leads to righteousness.
Roman 6:17
But thanks be to God that,
I wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which I have heard.
Roman 6:18
I have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
Romans 6:19
so now I offer ( parts of my body) in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.
Romans 6:20
When I am slaves to righteousness ,
I am free from the control of sin.
Romans 6:22
But now that I have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God,
the benefit I reap leads to holiness,
and the result is eternal life.
Romans 6:23
the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen

As we have heard, how can we keep our ways pure ? By guarding our ways according to His words. ( taken from Psalm 119:9)

How can we not wander from His commandments and not sin ? When we seek the Lord wholeheartedly ! By daily surrendering our will to His words, we shall not wander from His commandments!
How can we not sin against our Lord ?
We treasure His words in our hearts; how do we treasure His words ? We proclaim what is in our hearts that we submit our will to His will which is according to His words.

In this way, we imitate the apostles through the gospel to be in union with Christ Jesus, our Lord.

"But God will not save us if we make no effort to do the work he has committed to our charge.

So, what about these verses, then?:

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

2 Timothy 1:9 (NASB)
9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,

Titus 3:5-7 (NASB)
5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

The present truth regarding the Commandments of God and the faith of Jesus has not yet been sounded as it must be. There are many almost within the shadow of our own doors for whose salvation no personal effort has been made."

Amen.

Our keeping the Commandments is a result of walking in the love of Christ and allowing Him, by His Spirit, to dwell in us and change us.

Double amen!

She would be lost in her sins. But the grace of God would still cover her if she went away and turned away from sin and lived a life following Jesus.

So, then, the woman is ultimately her own Saviour? She saves herself by her forsaking of sin and her following of Jesus? She only keeps the grace of God upon her if she earns it by her right living?

But the problem I'm talking about is the belief that we cannot stop sinning. As this goes against the Word of God.

Right. The idea that the Christian remains a slave to sin is wide-spread in the modern western Church. But this thinking is helped by a wide complex of things, some of which you've noted in your OP. I would suggest that a general ignorance of God's word and basic orthodox Christian doctrine among Christians has also greatly helped false doctrine to flourish within the Church. I see, for example, almost no discipleship in churches today. Mentorship, yes, but not discipleship.

Free from Indwelling Sin
Rom. 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

It is true that we cannot preach just love of Christ without telling that our debts of sins have paid by our Lord with His blood of love.

For we are called His own because He have paid the ransom to set us free from sin with His love. Didnt the Lord come to His own because of His love ? Yes, for our Heavenly Father chose us in love of Christ before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless.

Our Heavenly Father have called us to come after His love by denying our self love, carrying the cross and follow Him.

If we are to live worthy of the Lord, we need to deny ourselves, that is, the old nature — the self love.

But, how are we able to do that if we don’t keep His first commandments to love God with all heart, soul and strength?

Give God the glory and strength.
What glory can we give ?
Is it not the glory of His love ?
Let us sing and give Him praise for His glorious love, that is, Christ Jesus.
Let lift up holy hands in true adoration and reverence to His wonderful name.

What strength can we give God ?
Do that amount to anything?
Yes, we have received His grace of repentance. His grace strengthen our hearts.
His love that is poured in our hearts invigorate us, and when His Holy Spirit comes, He gives power to us, who are powerless. Yes, our Lord have given us His power or strength.
Let us adore Him with our love:

O my Strength, I will sing praises to You, for You, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love. -Psalms 59:17

Indeed, His true love for us covers our many sins. Let us tell our Lord how much we love Him for His perfect sacrifice, His person and His power.

When we are filled with His first love, we can deal with our opponents with the gentleness of His love that God may perhaps grant repentance leading to the knowledge of truth of His love.
