With the prospect of an extra hour in bed, I thought I would treat myself this evening.
I had a taxi ride home from work. The taxi driver was so rude and spent the first couple of miles of my fare moaning and criticising me, that I ended up giving him a good piece of my mind. Thankfully after that the rest of the journey was peaceful and pleasant. He dropped me in the wrong place and because of his unpleasantness, I was quite happy to walk the rest of the journey home.
Thought I would relax and unwind by logging into my app and ordering some takeaway food. Unfortunately no sooner had I placed the order, the restaurant outlet decided it was no longer taking any more orders and I got a friendly message telling me that my order would be delivered tomorrow night! I spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to cancel the order, listening to "on hold" music reminding me of how far I was down the queue. I was so frustrated after all the fuss, that I decided I couldn't be bothered to cook and ended up having Weetabix!

That's a bit extreme. An English breakfast is best. :)
A proper English breakfast for me is:
- Orange juice or grapefruit segments
- Eggs (fried or poached)
- Mushrooms
- Fried Tomatoes
- Toast or Fried Bread
- Toast with Marmalade or Strawberry Jam
- A pot of filter coffee or tea
If I'm being posh, then I'll have a round of kippers!

I think posh is a must given your circumstances! Go for the gusto. :)

I don't rate ANY of our culinary dishes. Our breakfasts are just hideous - can't stand beans slapped on a plate like that, with elastic band bacon and runny yolks bleeding out everywhere. Augh, not my idea of fun at all. The textures and smells just disturb me.

The Scots on the other hand? Well, I can't fault them. Pan fried haggis is godly cuisine. Even when I'm ill and convalescing I can destroy a serving of crispy haggis. Oh, it's just the best. It's often my first point of call when I've had a dodgy stomach.

Black pudding too, is simply divine. It's the one thing I'll miss when I leave the UK. I think for all our sins our offal game is nailed on.

To be honest, the best breakfast I ever had was in Edmonton, Canada.
They had a breakfast bar which served just about everything. Continental style rolls with preserves, cereals, fruits, lots of cooked options including eggs in all kinds of different styles, muffins, pancakes. I stayed there a week and never got round to trying them all!
