If you believe racism causes everything....then you'll find everything is caused by racism
There are also a noticeable number of posts from a few sources which seem to build strawmen as a way to divert the discussion away from what people are actually saying about racism.

Sure...

Name one disparity between blacks and whites in the US where blacks have a worse outcome that's not caused by racism...in your opinion.
Incidence of sickle cell in newborns.
With that out of the way, any other made-up claims we need to dismantle?

How many dying people without health insurance are turned away from hospital emergency rooms?

As far as I know, they're required to treat people without money who aren't even citizens.
who said anything about dying?

They more often delay seeking care until until an illness reaches a critical stage. ER’s do not provide primary care where illnesses can be managed at an earlier level, preventing the progression to the most expensive level of care.

I had a feeling you'd be here to try derailing the topic (as you usually do).
How about getting back to why it's considered to be systematic racism when black people don't get the as much treatment as white people do, and it's also considered systematic racism when they get treatment in 3 times the numbers when more of them get sick?
I reply to posts with exactly the level of seriousness I feel they deserve. This thread is a joke and it’s not worth my time explaining why.

I want to know what the color of a person's skin has to do with them catching covid or not.
Where I live, people in a certain part of town, mostly Latino, were the hardest hit . They were the people going to work everyday in unsafe conditions while many of us were able to work from home. My roommate works at a hospital and she says the people coming in with COVID are very disproportionately Latino and black, and mostly people working low wage jobs or the relatives of those people.

Sure....most disparities. In fact, I don't know of any principles or rules or logic or rational thought that says we shouldn't expect disparities to naturally occur.
and yet you still aren't honest enough to say you can't think of any yourself.

No...they blame that on racism too...

The tobacco industry has been destroying Black lives for centuries, it's time it faced a reckoning for it

Honestly, when I said that some people blame everything on racism....did you think I was making that up? Exaggerating?
no you were using it as it as a deflection to defend racism by dismissing racism as some kind of delusional fantasy people of lesser intelligence and morals than you engage in to create a fake sense of victimization.

Asking you to prove racism isn't "defending" or "deflecting" it.

and yet you still aren't honest enough to say you can't think of any yourself.

Ok...wealth disparities, which include home ownership, income, savings, etc.

When I said most disparities....I meant most.

the only thing ridiculous thing here is your sad and dishonest attempt to try to pretend that an op ed about treatment for a chronic disorder is somehow supportive of your dismissal of racism.

I didn't dismiss racism. Your problem is that you believe any accusation of racism proves racism. I believe that racism occurs when there's actual evidence of it.

Observant readers will note that the quoted post discussed the things written here and had nothing to do with the people posting them.

If it's not racism, I wonder why black Americans have very high infection rates?
I wonder why they are harder hit? Maybe because blacks tend to have higher rates of service industry/front line work.

I mean, in a general sense, Africa has handled covid pretty darn well all things considered; so it can't be an inherent deficiency with the black race
