I don't think he'll be Jewish. Christ was Jewish and they didn't believe Him.But I do think he'll be of mid-eastern origin, but this is only my opinion.

Yes, the Antichrist must be Jewish. All false Christs were Jewish until very recently (when the Hindus have started bringing in their false Christs and claiming that *the Christ* is someone distinct from Jesus of Nazareth and assumes many personalties. Maitreya claims he is the Christ as we speak).

Anyhow, if we used more correctly the Hebrew title Mashiyach for Christ, and asked an Orthodox Jew if he is waiting for Mashiyach (Moshiyach) he would say *Yes*.  Why?  The Jews by and large rejected Jesus of Nazareth, and continue to reject Him through Judaism, and believe that their Mashiyach is yet to come and deliver them, and establish Israel as the dominant nation of the world. Mashiyach means Deliverer as well as Saviour.

We know that the Lord Jesus Christ will indeed come and establish David's throne and reign from Jerusalem during the Millenium. Before He comes, another man -- a Satan-possesed reprobate Jew -- will not only claim that he is the Mashiyach (anointed one of God) but he will claim that he himself is God, just as Jesus of Nazareth told the Jews "Before Abraham was I AM" (Jn 8:58).

In order that Jews believe this false Messiah's lie, Antichrist must be a Jew, who will try and counterfeit the credentials of Jesus of Nazareth by working miracles and showing His supernatural power.   This is described in Revelation 13:1-18, which must be compared with 2 Thess. 2:1-12 and Daniel 9:24-12:1, which describes the progression towards the coming of Antichrist. Dan. 11:36, 2 Thess. 2:4, and Rev.13:6 are almost exactly matched to show how blasphemous this man is.  Ultimately he will set up his image in the temple of Jerusalem and force all men to worhsip him as God.  This was Satan's ambition from the very beginning, and this is why God's wrath will be subsequently poured out during the Great Tribulation.  

The Beast derives his power from Satan (Rev.13:4) and is possesed by none other than Satan (Rev.13:18), since the number of this man is both the number of "a man" and the number of Satan (666).  He is therefore called "the Son of Perdition" and "the Man of Sin" (2 Thess.2:3), just as Judas Iscariot -- an ambitious and treacherous Jew -- who was possessed by Satan to do his dastardly deed is called *the son of perdition* or damnation (Jn. 17:12).

ephod, althogu today Egypt and Greece are at peace with Israel, things could change dramatically (especially because of the Rapture of the Christians). And, I do think that gwyyn is right, the 7th Empire is Rome.

I honestly don't see how the scripture points to the Anti-Christ being a Jew. Revelation 17 makes it clear that he will be of one of the 7 world empires and Israel was never a world empire. The largest they ever were was that they had large portions of modern Jordan east of the Jordan river, and a large section in modern Saudi Arabia to the Euphrates (this was during the time of Solomon). That was hardly a world empire so i doubt that the AntiChrist will be a Jew.

Actually, no the Anti-Christ is not Jewish by birth. Whoever said this to you has not studied prophecy, so I would doubt anything else they would say s well. Tho' of course, the Anti-Christ will be the most anti-Semtic man in history. If I told you who it will probably be, you would not believe it. But I will give you a hint: It is a former political leader from all of history who persecuted the Jews mercilessly and had he not been stopped, he would have wiped out the Jewish race. He will be allowed to return from the grave by God for just a short while and why the Jews will not recognize him is a mystery until it is too late.

This is a BIG hint. This makes terrifying sense, if you put the pieces together. I bet you won't believe it, but it makes perfect biblical sense. It is someone from the historical past, who will come back from beyond...indeed very terrifying...

There are a billion different ideas about what race the AC will be of.  The concensus seems to be that he will be a man of European descent.  Basically, an ordinary "white" man.

Who knows though.  It's all based on tracing the Table of Nations in Genesis which is a dubious enterprise at best.

I just can't see an AC being a westener , we are too well educated to be decieved by this guy , I think he will be an arab and will decieve the arabs coz they will follow and believe anyone who hates israel .

And we in the west are not going to be fooled by some character who's best mate calles himself a prophet and can make fire come down from heaven to the earth . LOL

Yeah I'll be watching Egypt ephod...but I'll also be watching a lot of those arab countries , i don't trust any of them .

After all , they already follow a false prophet and if they believe "him" then they will believe another when he comes .

Actually - the Anti-christ will decieve many who don't realise who he actually is - which includes Westeners.

Where do you think half our stuff comes from???

1. Mainly China.
2. Quite a lot is Japanese made.&nbsp;
3. Most of it is made in 3rd world countries

To say "all westerners are better than those from the east" is a very skeptical and prejudiced statement.

I'm sure we could find someone from Arabia who's smarter than you, and me, and many other people here.

As for the person who said pre-rapture was a lie:

There are many people who believe in a pre-trib, mid-trib and post-trib rapture - and all can back it up with scripture.

There are many different views on when the rapture will come - but i guess we will only find out which one is the right one when it happens.
