There are no doubt some true "born again" believers (note John 3; John 14; etc.) in many of the professing Christian sects, but if they do not bow to clear BIBLE-ONLY teachings ---"rightly dividing the Word of Truth", as God tells us, they will follow innovations and ways which sound nice to them. There are NO contradictions in a sound Holy Bible, so if one thinks there are, it is due to misapplying Scripture. A good reliable Bible Dictionary by a sound Bible-only source, will clarify meanings. Taking verses out of context and listening to various preachers is much of the problem for many readers. Let us be looking to God and not various doctrines!
There is an element of truth in this, but it's also unrealistic. There are, and have been throughout history, many professing Christian sects that believe the teachings of the Bible and -- this is important -- those teachings are not always clear and obvious; just the opposite.
There are definitely contradictions in the Bible if one is applying pure logic but that is not the way the Bible is written. There is a very good reason that Jesus spoke in parables: they are understood only by those whom God wants to understand them.
Matthew 11:25, "At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because
you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
Matthew 11:27, "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son
and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."
Luke 10:21-22, "At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because
you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and
no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
John 12:38, "This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message and
to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
John 17:6, "
I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.
Romans 8:19, "
For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed."
Romans 10:20, "And Isaiah boldly says, “
I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”
1 Corinthians 2:3-10, "I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power,
so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom,
but on God’s power. We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and
what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—
these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
1 Corinthians 4:1, "This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and
as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed."
Ephesians 3:4-6, " In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,
which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus."
1 Peter 1:12, "
It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things."
Of course there are many other examples from the Bible that instruct us about God's truths but these should suffice that God reveals what He wants to reveal to those whom He has chosen to understand His truths.
There is no cut-and-dried interpretation of God or His Word!
It makes people feel good about themselves to say that
they have an understanding of God's Word that others lack, but 99% of the time it's just their ego.
