Brethren, it's been a long time since I posted last and much has been happening. Back in late 2018, I took a position as a Transit Operator with the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. A goal I had been seeking for well over 30 years now, and that God has blessed me with. However, my current work schedule has me working Sunday Mornings and yes, away from fellowship at my home church (we are open). I was able to resume Sunday worship over the Summer because I was working the extra board and most of the Senior drivers, the ones with weekends off, take their vacations at that time. But now, being back on a run myself, I cannot attend services. That being said, there are flocks who do offer Saturday services, but because I would need to be available for Sundays as well, I cannot participate in leading worship as I do at my home church.
That being said, I miss the fellowship, the worship, and the church itself. I know that God's presence isn't contingent on a building or people, but I miss them dearly, especially my pastor, who's been a tremendous blessing to me and my family, and who, as he's said; " puts the Gospel on display".
Now, I do have the options of either going back to working late runs, that would free my Sunday mornings, but the tradeoff is I don't get back until very late and screws with me healthwise. Or, wait it out until I build enough seniority to e able to pick runs with Sundays off (which I would prefer). That wait might not be much longer, God Willing.

I pray for you to find fellowship with Christian brothers and sisters wherever you go, that you continue to be blessed with work, an income, to be able to feed your children, keep your marriage healthy, build a good name, have time for yourself and most of all that you grow closer to God then ever. Remember that the bible tells us that we might run into angels, so be aware of being the best you can be toward all you meet.

You may want to pray for your health. The average age of death for a commercial truck driver is 59 - 64. It is mainly because of diesel exhaust on the major roadways. FMCSA Answers Questions About Driver Life Expectancy Statistics

Yes Lord we pray for Bassman. Bless him and keep him safe on the roadways. Open the way so he can start attending Sunday services soon. Thanks for the fellowship of the saints(us believers). In Jesus name, Amen.

Here's the thing. I'm not doing any highway driving at all. All the miles I rack up are on city streets. Plus when I work weekends, the buses I use are CNG.
I learned people who live close to major roadways are more likely to die young. People more than 3000 ft from a major roadway are not as effected.

The diesel fumes are the worse as they are carcinogenic and can damage the lungs and arteries.

I have had similar problems bassman. After years of schedule conflict of working nonstandard shifts, especially over night/graveyard type shifts, I guess I tend to see it as a call to start some other kind of ministry or life. Of course, being an introvert helps a bit more, but I tend to look it as a "When life gives you lemons make lemonade" approach to life.
