When Christ said, in Matthew 7:6, "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces." he is clearly saying that some (probably many, given Matthew 7:13-14) and not worth the effort.

When you come across people who are swine and dogs, recognise them as such and do not waste your time on them.

But who of us can make that judgment?
I'd sure be absolutely positive before I would make a harsh judgment like that as you may be responsible for losing a soul.
You could also turn them away from their intended end, God.

If Christ says that would should not cast our pearls before swine, it means that he thinks that we can make that judgement (because he does not set traps).

Can you share some personal stories in your life who you have shared the gospel with in person who you consider to be dogs and swine. Thanks !

I agree with the overall sentiment expressed in the OP, though I would add that I don't think God wants us to look at any fellow human as "worthless" or a "waste of time". Rather, if their hearts are hardened, our efforts in reaching them may be a waste; not the person themselves.

"Dogs" and "Swine" being far from polite (especially when you consider how Jews see pigs), and we being told not to bother with them, I'm willing to bet that God considers them a waste of time.

That is not breaking the rules by sharing your testimony on the streets and your personal experiences while witnessing.

I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree then :)

I think it's talking about people who are greatly hostile/antagonistic towards hearing about the Lord ... so much so they are outwardly violent about it.

God loves us, when He mAde humans he said His creation was good

I think the swine He refers to isnt.a comment on their intrinsic worth or lack of it, but they are ones who aren't receptive to the Gospel

There is another scripture saying to shake the dust from your feet and leave those who aren't receptive to the Gospel message. In other words, don't wEre your energy or time, just move on

way I see jt, we are not responsible for people getting saved, we.are.responsible for.sharing the Gospel with them. They choose to receive or not

I think it was Billy Graham who said that on average before someone becomes born again it often takes several people do share the Gospel with them over the course of their lifetime.

for mAny of us we didn't become born again the first time we heard it

So maybe a swine status can change to that of a beloved son or mY be the swine are those who never get saved.

Only God knows

Our job is to preach as we feel led to

I think that doesn’t mean that the Gospel should not be preached to all, because it is said:

This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Right. It's not a prejudgment (prejudice), it's post-judgment based on their reaction/behavior.

Christ died for sinners, Romans 5:8.
It doesn't say that he thought "I'll only send Christ to die for those who I know will accept him; the others are a waste of time."

I'm not.
God created them in his image and Christ died for them. Jesus said "love your enemies", Matthew 5:44 and be perfect as God is perfect, Matthew 5:48. We were all once enemies of God.

When you come across people who are swine and dogs, recognise them as such and do not waste your time on them.
He came to seek and save the lost. He did that by putting Himself out there, and the masses came to Him, even as they did to John in the wilderness. Religious authorities came to Him to test Him.
Many wicked no doubt ignored Him. He did not hunt them down.
When Jesus preached in Jerusalem, and at the Temple, many who did not believe derided Him.
He did not cut them any slack.

John 8:
42 Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.
43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.
44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.
46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?
47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.

A righteous and wealthy young nobleman came to Him, Jesus told Him "you lack one thing", and he walked away saddened. Jesus did not run after Him, or send one of His disciples.
Many times, unbelievers who knew me, from at work for example, came to me seeking prayer
or guidance simply because they knew I was a Christian, and found me credible. To pray for a loved one,
for example. Surely no believer would ever turn someone away. At times, Jesus said to one who came to Him, "you are not far from the kingdom".

Following the leading of the Spirit is required at all times, especially on the streets,
"for our sufficiency is not of ourselves."
"In your patience, possess your souls."

Not everyone will accept the Gospel. That is what Jesus meant by the way being narrow, Nd few finding it, I think.

But He certainly wants all to be saved. He will none should perish because He is love. I don't think a good father can see any of His children as worthless. But the Bible does use some strong deacriptives sometimes, certainly

Agreed.

1 John 2:2
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
