You're trying to add a purely subjective elements to this that has no place in medical statistics. Lets say that 81 year old man had been hit by a car and killed instead. Would you say being hit by a car wasn't the cause of death? Would you object to 'hit by car' being put as his cause of death and added to the people hit by car statistics?
Let's make it more interesting - a hypothetical 45 year old police officer with hypertension is killed by hypothetical BLM protester. How many people promoting the "well, everyone dies anyway" would be good with the killer being acquitted because the cop was going to die soon anyway because he had a preexisting condition? Let's see how far these excuses are willing to be dragged around.

There probably is room for debating which death reports should be included and which may be questionable, etc. But there is apparently no doubt about the figure of 214,000, or whatever is being used this week, being inflated.

But we've established that the largest component of the preexisting conditions - things like high blood pressure or being overweight - don't eliminate quality of life. So what's the real reason for wanting to ignore the data on this disease?

being hit by a car though is NOT a natural cause of death. If someone dies from something that is completely unnatural that ( at least to me) is different from dying from a natural cause of death while having other conditions. All the conditions he had that could have resulted in his death ( and could frankly for all we know as tough as his case was to tell) would have been considered a natural cause of death. Being hit by a car is in no way shape or form considered a natural cause of death that has NOTHING to do with what medical conditions a person may or may not have.

Wonder if they'd say the same if "their time to go" came from a BLM or Antifa protester breaking into their house. I imagine they'd be very very concerned about that and asking for police to take steps to preserve law and order.
Well, the fact is that when it is your time to go it will happen. The most that can EVER be done is to postpone death.

So if they caught Ebola and died you’d feel the same about it not really changing much and Ebola shouldn’t be listed as the cause of death?

Man. It's nuts
March-may.... Right gloats and/or criticizes democratic government for mishandling virus.

September-oxtober as red states start to fall victim- oh well. Their turn to die.

And through it all the people making those arguments have not lost anyone to covid.

yes, and one of the most common contributing factors was obesity and such. it's like most diseases, the flu often kills due to contributing factors, it's just how diseases work. The question isn't did they die of covid, but would they have died without it wich in many cases is no.
Yep. Last time this nonsense was trotted out I asked how many people had obesity or hypertension as the sole cause of death. I don't remember ever getting an answer.
