Yes and Jesus never commanded anyone to keep the Sabbath.
Why would he need to? The 10 commandments were already provided and Gods people had been keeping them for 4000 years already and JESUS and everyone was keeping it every "seventh day" according to the commandment. Jesus kept the Sabbath as did all the Apostles and disciples of JESUS and JESUS taught us how to keep the Sabbath *Mark 2:27-28; Matthew 12:1-12. On the other hand, here is not a single scripture that says God's 4th commandment of the 10 commandments has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. That one is not in the bible.

Circumcision was a commandment if God. Now we’re separating “moral commandments” for God’s commandments? That seems convenient seeing that you don’t observe these particular commandments yet you insist that keeping God’s commandments are necessary for salvation. You say the 10 commandments are not the laws of Moses but the laws of God and yet it was a God Himself, Not Moses, that commanded that Jews and any foreigners living among them must be circumcised. It was also God who commanded the burnt offerings and He was very particular about the qualifications and ritual ceremony that must be observed. Moses didn’t makes this commandment or these stipulations. Both circumcision and burnt offerings were commandments of God, not Moses. Moses only relayed the message.

Where is circumcision written in the ten commandments *Exodus 20:1-17. We must read different bibles.

Where did this come from?
This is a completely ridiculous and false accusation. No what’s really happening here is you are rebuking people for not keeping God’s commandments but you don’t like it when someone points out the log in your eye. You are picking and choosing which of God’s commandments you want to keep and exalting yourself above others like a Pharisee saying I keep the Sabbath because I love God and everyone else loves the darkness when what is really happening is you are not keeping His commandments. Your just pretending you do, otherwise you’d keep all of them. I believe Paul has a message for you in Galatians 5 and Romans 14.
What log have you pointed out? All I see is someone sharing scripture with you and your getting upset about it. No one loves God according to the scripture by breaking his commandments *John 14:15; John 15:10. According to the scripture those that say they know God but knowingly break his commandments are not being honest in 1 John 2:3-4.

Hello LGW.

1 John 3:4
Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

Leviticus 12:3
On the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

Anyone who attempts to obey the law and transgresses the law of circumcision. Will be guilty of transgressing the law.

Please note; John states that sin is lawlessness. John does not say, sin is transgressing the ten commandments only.

The law grants the knowledge of sin not just the ten commandments.

Not really dear friend. Circumcision is not one of God's 10 commandments. It is a shadow law of Moses, pointing to the new covenants promise of God's law of love written on the heart through faith under the new covenant *Hebrews 8:10-12; Romans 2:28-29. We are not living in shadows David. We are in the new covenant now not the old. Sin is indeed lawlessness and lawlessness means without law or as breaking it. God's Word says specifically that the 10 commandments which includes God's 4th commandment *Exodus 20:2-17 give us the knowledge of what sin is in Romans 7:7 and James 2:10-11. Don't pretend it doesn't and remember the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 7:19 "Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God".

I said in a previous post.

Which you did not agree with and then you replied below.

Well that's painfully obvious and that's what I am saying.
God's Word says specifically that the 10 commandments which includes God's 4th commandment *Exodus 20:2-17 give us the knowledge of what sin is in Romans 7:7 and James 2:10-11.
You have refuted your own argument, LGW, your quotation supports directly what I said. Here is what James said and this is using your quotation.

James 2:10
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

That's right LGW, anyone who keeps the whole law and transgresses in just one law. Is guilty of transgressing the whole law.

I rest my case your honor, the matter is closed.

Well that is not true dear friend. You have not made a case. Your refuting yourself as the scriptures quoted in James are in reference to the 10 commandments stating if we break anyone of them you break them all (including God's 4th commandments which is one of God's 10 commandments) as it is written if you break one you break them all. That is why James 2:10-11 was provided.

James 2:10-11 was provided because it is a direct reference to Gods' 10 commandments talking about adultery and murder as example, not the Mosaic law of circumcision. If God's 10 commandments includes Gods' 4th commandments seventh day Sabbath and if the scriptures claim if we keep 9 and break 1 we are guilty of breaking all of them and there is not a single scripture in all of Gods' Word that says God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day, it puts you in a bit of a pickle dear friend does it not? Not sure why your having problems with this. Perhaps you can pray about it.

Your also making strawman arguments no one is talking about. Where did I ever post to you that 1 John 3:4 is talking only about God's 10 commandments? If I have never said such things why are you pretending that I have and if I haven't why are you making an argument no one is arguing about? Does 1 John 3:4 include God's 10 commandments? YES/NO? If it does what is your argument. Sorry Dave seems God's Word disagrees with you. My prayer is that you can be blessed and receive God's correction.

Hope this is helpful.

For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
even true in a secular setting...break one traffic law and you have violated the law of traffic...commit one crime and you are a criminal...

But is this why you only try for 9/10ths of His Law as to be able to say you are not keeping all of it?

BTW Sabbath keepers should NOT be keeping the Law in order TO BE SAVED but because they already are SAVED by Him and merely wish to FOLLOW HIM and His Way...just as...

That's right LGW, anyone who keeps the whole law and transgresses in just one law. Is guilty of transgressing the whole law.
so recently a ranked tennis player out of frustration hit a ball without looking which ended up hitting a lineswoman...he was disqualified from the tournament

Does he quit tennis...the keeping of its rules? Certainly NOT...he keeps establishing the law of tennis...

Is WHY we need a Savior BECAUSE His Law points ALL to Him...His way...

By the way...a tennis player does not wish to keep the rules of tennis...he wants to play the game...

Just as he does not keep the rules to become a tennis player but because he already is...

As every true teacher sees in the person a graduated student even before they themselves do...

Might that we see ourselves as He does...a sinner He saved...

I rest my case your honor, the matter is closed.
lol...you might rest your case but the Judge closes the matter...

And being a forum the case is only closed when you ignore a response or a moderator locks the thread or a banning occurs which well...still does NOT close the case...as it continues after centuries until He closes it all...

You know the One Who gave His living oracles to His people...WHOSOEVER accepts them...because of what He did...those “here are they that KEEP” and not just some but ALL He commanded us to observe...

Your trying to say; don't covet that oxen but you can get drunk, because drunkenness is not one of the ten. You can beat someone up but avoid killing them, because the law only says do not kill.

Run a brothel, sell and use drugs, but whatever you do, you must obey the ten commandments.
This is the embodiment of textbook case straw man argument on your part. Ironic, indeed, after your just having decried a straw man.

Because the church has declared by the guidance of the Holy Spirit that it is acceptable to worship on Sunday. The very same men who canonized the scriptures at the very same council where both of these took place at the same time. This isn’t the first time the Holy Spirit has abolished one of God’s commandments.

That's a spirit but not the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is never going to go against God. God is unchanging, therefore His laws (not Moses laws) are unchanging.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

God wrote with His own finger the 10 commandments on stone. How incredible is that? What is also incredible is how the 10 commandments still apply yesterday, today and forever. We should only worship our Creator, not worship idols (anything we put above Him) not vain His name (the reason I stopped watching most TV, even PG) Remember to keep His seventh-day Holy, honor our parents, don't commit adultery, do not steal, not to lie or covet. If we obey these simple laws they are all things that makes us better people. If everyone obeyed these laws, can you imagine a different world we would live in?

Here is an example of the law of Moses

Ezra 3:2
2 Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his brethren, arose and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the Law of Moses the man of God.

Acts 15:5 5 But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”

1 Corinthians 9:9 For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it oxen God is concerned about?

Burnt offerings, festivals, muzzle an ox these are ceremonial laws "law of Moses" which was nailed to the cross Colossians 2:14-16

Now in contrast to Gods law which He says He is unchanging. The 10 commandments are very applicable today and why Jesus, while on this earth kept the Sabbath as an example for us and said “If you love Me, keep My commandments." John 14:15

Similar written to Gods 2nd commandment Exodus 20 4-6
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

To love God (which is His greatest commandment) is shown to Him when we obey His commandments.
1 John 5 1-3
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

God gives us the Holy Spirit to help keep His commandments not change them.

John 14:15-18
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Other scriptures to consider:

Mathew 19:17
17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

1 John 2:4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Revelations 12:14-12
Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Revelations 22:14 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

And the Bible says this will happen to anyone who changes one thing in the Bible, which includes His Holy day from Saturday Sabbath to mans day Sunday.

Revelation 22:18

A Warning
18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Our savior is coming soon!

I Am Coming Quickly
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Had the siege been on the Sabbath the gates would have been closed thus no one could escape. I cannot find in the old covenant the law that would keep a person form saving their lives on their Sabbath. Using that verse to prove the Sabbath requirement is part of the new covenant is bologna.
The point of Christ mentioning the destruction of Jerusalem and the Sabbath together was not to suggest that Jews would have to choose between Sabbath-keeping and saving their own lives but that He expected them to still be keeping the Sabbath and that a siege taking place on the Sabbath day would spoil it. This was, in fact, an excellent way for Christ to hint at the perpetuity of the law (all ten of them) after His time on earth.

Where is circumcision written in the ten commandments *Exodus 20:1-17. We must read different bibles.
Wasn't circumcision greater than the ten commandments, because the Sabbath could be broken to perform a circumcision, if it fell on the eighth day after a male was born.

John 7:22-23
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

For those who argue only the ritual laws were done away with and the moral ones left, what defines ritual and moral? Yes, I agree that the Sabbath can be a moral law, because it provides everyone with a day of rest. But it also can be a ritual law, because it falls on the Sabbath day. In the same way, even circumcision might be seen as both a ritual law (e.g. performed as a religious rite), and a moral law (e.g. for those who believe it is healthier, better for the health of a future wife, etc.)

Ok, but back to the OP's question: have you ever been explicitly led by the Holy Spirit to keep the Sabbath?

what spirit would lead someone to transgress any one of Gods 10 Commandments? Do you believe the Spirit of Christ would lead you into disobedience to God?

You have to ge kidding. Did God keep the Nazies from ruining their Sabbaths? Did God keep the Babylonians from ruining their Sabbaths?

A more accurate question for you: what spirit would lead someone to transgress any one of God's 613 commandments?

Or better yet: what spirit would lead someone to transgress any one of God's OT 613 commandments and NT 1050 commandments?

Do you believe the Spirit of Christ would lead you into disobedience to God?

Of course not. The Bible teaches exactly the opposite, that the Holy Spirit will lead you to fulfill God's will for your life. Therefore, if Sabbath keeping is part of God's will, you should expect that in a Holy Spirit led revival people will be led en masse to keep the Sabbath. However, we fail to see that in most revivals.

Check out this question: How do seventh day Sabbatarians explain the lack of Sabbath observing following Spirit led revivals?

Also check out this thread: Any Holy Spirit Revival leading multitudes to Sabbath observance?

442. Not to change consecrated animals from one type of offering to another? —Leviticus 27:26

588. The High Priest must not defile himself through contact with a relative?—Leviticus 21:11
589. The High Priest must not enter under the same roof as a corpse?—Leviticus 21:11

Could have added more here but got tired. Does God's Spirit lead you to break any of the above? If not why not? Your posting questions on shadows.
Or better yet: what spirit would lead someone to transgress any one of God's NT 1050 commandments?
Absolutely! This one here because it is not biblical and man-made interpretations have been applied to it...

Let's
14. Let everyone choose his own sabbath day (Romans 14:5-7; Colossians 2:14-17)

Another question for you...

Where does it say in Romans 14:5-7 and Colossians 2:14-17 from this man made interpreted list to "Let everyone choose his own sabbath day"? Where does it say in Romans 14 that the topic of conversation is the Sabbath? Where does it say in Colossians it is talking about God's 4th commandment and not the sabbaths in the feast days?

Something to pray about I guess. Your promoting man made teachings and traditions that are not biblical. There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day.

Did you notice that in the 1050 man-made interpreted list you provided it is missing another commandment?

HEBREWS 4:9 THEREFORE IT REMAINS FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD TO KEEP THE SABBATH.

Which one of Gods 10 commandments does God's Spirit lead us to break? God's Spirit does not lead anyone to break anyone of Gods' 10 commandments according to the scriptures. In the new covenant the purpose of God's 10 commandments have the same role they always have and that is to give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4 and according to the God's Word (not mine) if we break any one of them we stand guilty before God of sin *James 2:10-11; 1 John 3:4.

According to the scriptures all those who continue in known unrepentant sin after God gives us the knowledge of the truth and we reject God's Word in order to continue in sin will not enter into God's kingdom unless they return to God because they reject the gift of Gods' dear son and count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing and do despite to the Spirit of God's grace (read the scriptures; Acts of the Apostles 17:30-31; Hebrews 10:26-31; Romans 6:23)

Everything sound good until you prayerfully examine the detail of what is being said. Only God's Word is true Romans 3:4 and we should believe and follow it *Acts of the Apostles 5:29. BABYLON has fallen and God is calling all those who have ears to hear to come out *Revelation 18:1-5.

May God bless you as you receive his Word.

You have to ge kidding. Did God keep the Nazies from ruining their Sabbaths? Did God keep the Babylonians from ruining their Sabbaths?
Why would God allow them to keep the Sabbath? You do know why ISRAEL went into exile right? It was because they had forsaken God.

Hi there Dave,
This fact is extremely important. Sad it is ignored or missed by many who call on HIS Name.

It is amazing that some would think the God that is not the Author of Confusion would tell HIS Apostles to pray that their flight would not be in the winter or on the Sabbath if the Sabbath was to be done away with upon HIS Resurrection.

Hi there LoveGodsWord, Happy Sabbath to you and yours.

May I ask what translation of Heb 4:9 is that.
